I’ve used this video ever since I got the guts to start cutting my own hair. I’m a little older at 50 but I’m not losing my hair and Dre has been my coach!
Saw many tutorial and this is hands down the best one for one single reason. You did just one guide line, from open than to close lever right away so we could see exactly how the fade happens! A lot of tutorials tends to do 3 or more guide lines with lever open first, so then they close it and start redoing everything with closed and mid lever, which gets pretty confusing on where are they going exactly to fade it properly.
Definitely trying this tomorrow on my son. This cut is detailed with all the instructions. Appreciate you sharing this knowledge, stay blessed my brother
Literally the best fade video I’ve ever watched. Stylist of 14 yrs. Started out in mens cuts and I’ve been out of the game for 8 years now I’ve totally lost my skill since I do mostly color now but I’m making my husband let me try this out on him !! Thank you for sharing
I cut my sons hair a while ago it came out horrible I’m in barberschool I’m trying to learn how to do a fade I’m learning more and more each day it’s my third weeks second day, anyway it’s just not that easy for my it’s hard for me to understand something isn’t clicking for me I’m over thinking but at the same time trying to remember all the steps :/ can u tell me anything give me some advise ? Literally anything? Seriously because I don’t know
@@LilRobby Hang in there bro. It gets easier. When fading think in terms of levels and steps. Each attachment guard has a specific level of hair it will remove. Watch how Dre is using his guards while closing and opening the blade to get the desired level to blend the fade. Unless you are doing an even steven cut you'll on need on guard for the length. Not sure if you've cut grass before. But the lawn mower has levels that you cut grass to. Fading is like a slope. The higher part has more hair and the lower has less hair. And each attachment blade is numbered. The larger the guard the more hair and the smaller the guard less hair. Again think slope. You are the artist with those clippers. Create your art using the most basic guideline and work from there. Keep practicing and take your time. You'll be a beast! Godspeed.....

Dope technique, I been cutting my hair for 25 yrs and I love learning new techniques. Yours is excellent and easy to follow very clear and precise instructions with excellent results ! Crispy fade !!!!!
I agree with you on taking a good inch it’s what makes it look blurry instead of compressed darkness because they do half an inch instead this is the same reason why I choose to watch your tutorials. That and the approach you take .. I did notice you change it for a while but I like this more, way less confusing.Thank you for your educational videos.

Its a good fade no doubt. I find these vids very usefull man, i do my own hair and because of vids like this it always looks great. Saving alot of money on the barber because i went every 2 weeks so im saving 40 euros every month 🤷♂️ and i do my girls son 🤷♂️ so thats 20 every 3 weeks she is saving. Its a nice skill. So thanks to guys like u i can do this 2 🙏🏽🙏🏽👌🏾
Very nice cut Dre,a finger’s with closer to a half inch,a thumbs with closer to tree quarter’s of an inch, but in the back goes for a full inch or more.

Congrats on a great job you don't know how many hair cutting videos I watch with people spend an hour giving somebody a fade and it looks no different than if they just went no guard the whole way 🤦🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️👍🏼✌🏻

There is no exact way to determine the length of a blend line because each person's head is different even from left to right. So your explanation is spot on. Fingers width or inch is close enough.
Thank you for this!! I’m so use to fading with metal blades and I’m trying to work with adjustables. I’m getting there, but can always use more guidance. This video helped a lot and I’ll reference back multiple times.
When covid hit I become the family barber. I mastered their typical cuts. Whenever I searched trending haircuts these came up and I’m like nope not gonna do that! My husband decided to go get his hair cut today and came home with this cut. Which means I’m likely the upkeep person when he can’t get in. I really want to do this with my son’s hair!!! Will he let me though? Lol
Your absolutely right about different hair textures on each side. I gave myself a skin fade, 2 on top. Right side came out dope, left side I might of went a little too high lol..got a decent hat collection though

Hi I would like to know what is the height of your #1 guard because my guard #1 is 3 mm but I can’t blend my hard line made previously with the clipper without guard even having the lever closed the difference is to big. My guess is that the #1 guard you use is lower than mine.
