      AC joint tear no surgery, I attribute my maintenance of balance to head over foot walking. Especially for balance between around the lower traps and mid back. Gait is very influential and important for spinal balance and just good walking did wonders for me.

    I think the one take away I take from learning martial arts and dance. Is the footwork. And self discovery of flow. How to place your foot in multiple plans.
    Capoeria has been 1 of my favorite. The ginga base (contemporary) , at wide movement but in Angola the ginga becomes smaller/slower but you keep flow state. Ready to Block, /evade or kick set up.

    I had always found Weck's explanations hard to follow because he'd use onomatopoeia a lot, but since this video is long enough to show how he'd use analogies as a way to articulate his thoughts I find that pretty helpful.

      @@truepeacenik yea sure, in my opinion he uses bigger words and phrases to almost confuse you. If head over foot truly was the proper way to walk, i feel that we would see more babies teaching themselves that when they learn to walk. But they don’t. Walking isn’t a learned movement. It’s inhibition. The only time I have seen head over foot walking is in runway models and heavy set people attempting to sprint.

      @patricktoth-meyers5044 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The fact that you can avoid back pain by arresting movement, in some cases, doesn't imply that's the most efficacious or natural way. Let's see McGill run, or jump, or rope flow, or wrestle. My guess is weck does it better. Would ppv that.

      Yeah I think he’s a super smart guy but you’re correct, you will plant and slide with the opposite foot, and bowl with contralateral arm. coiling to the opposite side you are sliding with. Your comment brought up a lot of questions for me, thank you. I wonder if the head over foot rule he states, still applies on the case of bowling. I would tend to say so, although the mass of the ball needs to be accounted for. Power from bowling comes from increasing the length of the arm and swing, this is done by opening up the shoulders and snapping them shut, as the ball falls with gravity. There is no time component that you’d want to coil for, but instead increase the distance the ball has to accelerate. But yes David would have a pretty nasty bruise on his leg if he tried bowling like that. 😂

      @petromarchyshyn8509 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Problem is, a lot of physical therapists look at the body in a very narrow view point. Many of them have been educated to believe that if your low back hurts, then just do core exercises.
      I’ve met good physical therapists and I’ve met terrible gait professionals. The solution to human pain is both simple and difficult depending on the individual.
      Keep an open mind, David weck has been in the industry much longer than a lot of these doctors. And if you don’t practice what you preach, then what eduction do you really have?
