My moms withheld food as a punishment when we were small and we had to beg beg for forgiveness even though sometimes you wont even know wht you did then pray and ask gods forgiveness before getting a whipping had to go and get the switch we would be spanked with and if was to small or pray not thought to be fervent enough more wacks i also stole food as a child from the store my parents were strict vegans and penny pinchers so food was rationed and not filling

I didn't experience having food withheld but I do understand the feeling of being subjected to harsh punishment at times when I didn't understand why it was happening so I empathize with you in that regard. I never knew what would set my father off from day to day. The rules were never clear or consistent. And my dad would force us to do things a certain way when he was around, but when he wasn't, my mom forced us to do the opposite. But if my dad witnessed us doing things her way he would lose it. My mother would pretend like she hadn't demanded we do something differently or try to stick up for us. Those kinds of experiences at a young and formative age creates major trust issues and insecure attachments. I learned at a very young age that I couldn't trust my parents. It takes a lot of emotional labor to heal from that and learn how to have healthy relationships. I hope you're doing well now 💗

My abuser was my moms sister. Who I don’t even consider family anymore. My mother still even to this day 10+ years later I still don’t feel like she believes me and at this point it’s too late for apologies.

But when my dad got custody of me (through some messed up family court stuff) my grandmother forced me to sit down in front of my entire family and apologize for “lying” to my abusers face.

That incident where her mother told her thay man wanted her to open the door for him says she knew what he was going to ask her and her allowing him to go into her room and shut the door says she knew and agreed he could abuse her. Also her withholding food after she told also says she knew and offered her child to him. This goes along with his question about her telling her mom.if he assaulted her. They both conspired about what thay punishment would be. This situation is far more sinister than this clip lets on and she should never speak to her mom again. My moms sister was like this. When i told her that my granddaddy her father had touched me in an inappropriate way she looked me dead in my eyes and called me a liar. Her words exactly were you are lying little b**** my daddy would never do that. Come to find out while he was on his death bed i wasnt his first victim. My grandma's sister was his first victim. I was the first child victim. I was 8 to 11 going through it all by myself. The only thing that stopped him was when my grandma passed social services took me and put me in foster care.
Stop telling these men all your kids business. That is a green light for an abuser to hear your kids have been thru it, all it tells them is that you'll overlook red flags and they can do it again. The same goes with romantic relationships. You ever notice the exact stuff you tell your partner is the exact stuff they do to you later?
My paternal grandfather attempted sexual assault on me when I was 14 years old back in 1981. He was a severe alcoholic. I finally got him off of me when I said “grandmoms home”. He let me go. I ran out of the house, to the garage, and told my dad. Without saying a word, he grabbed an ax, went up to the house, and chased his own father with it. Neither of them saying one word to each other. I didn’t witness what occurred when dad finally caught him, but I was defended. My grandfather wouldn’t speak to me for one year after that. My grandmom passed roughly ten years after, and grandpop took her death hard.
Now it’s mid nineties, and I’m 27. I had a dj gig near by, and instead of driving home, I stayed at my grandparents home. Only grandpop now.
After my usual greeting with a shotgun in my face (family of hunters, he greeted everybody that way) he said its okay I stay there. Just as I was fixin for the back bedroom, my paternal grandfather grabbed my wrist, and attempted to finish the job he started back in 1981.
Older, stronger, smarter, without hesitation I drew my right fist and introduced it to his jaw.
I’d piss on his grave if he wasn’t buried next to grandmom.
I’m also proud of this strong young woman. Someone other than the ppl who created her, did that kid a solid. Even though she grew up witnessing free spirit behavior, someone saw to it she’ll survive the storm. Someone put some faith in her heart. Most kids living like that follow the footsteps.

I can relate a bit. I was sexually assaulted at 14 years old by a 19 year old. I didn't understand anything or how I could defend myself. I remember I told my mom about it and we reported it to the school district. I ended losing my friends and winded up in a bus with children I didn't know all alone. :( It's true people choose to be victims forever, turn into predictors or just try to better themselves. I choose to try my best to better myself.

I usually don’t get emotional over Steve Wilkos episodes but I find myself crying over Jasmine. I see a woman who needed a mom and dad when she was a girl, and everyone around her failed her. She deserved so much better, and I hope so deeply she finds kindness and joy in life. Hope the “mom” rots.

I hope that poor girl goes home and cuts all ties with that horrible witch of a "mother". She deserves so much better. I also think that the mother KNEW what was going on and DIDN'T CARE. After all, she withheld food from her own DAUGHTER.
It’s going to take a LOT of counseling, but if they want to make amends that’s their business. However this is why I hate when people say “that’s your mother no matter what & they deserve respect.” BS!! Situations like this is why so many cut themselves off from their parents/family. It’s great to see how far she’s come & that she’s doing all she can to break the cycle and be better. But my heart still breaks for her. She may not have lived with her mother/been in her mother’s custody until she was 13, but the amount of toxicity is sad all the same. So many children grow up in these situations from birth & regardless of age/when it starts, it’s horrible to see a woman so easily choose a man over her child.. to put a relationship above them & speak so bad of her child. Hearing all she endured, not only from the boyfriend, but from her mother as well….Her mother’s tape & behavior on stage, very cringing. The denial, the gaslighting & deflecting.. dodging/not answering questions directly, getting an attitude when asked again. It’s so frustrating when women come on & say how they themselves were victims, just to proceed to doubt their own child. Because if nothing else THAT should be cause for concern & raise red flags. And then to have him on speaker phone with her standing there (as if it wasn’t enough that he kept coming back)… that’s like having a child’s molester standing in front of them while being questioned.. “Am I gonna get to talk out here or what?” As if that’s not what she’s been doing nonstop. THEN when she does get the chance, all she does is spew hate toward/about her daughter.
Also it’s extremely rare that we hear positive stories about foster care, because they’re usually horrific in some way or another & the child continues to endure more of the same (if not worse). I found that to be very bittersweet. Knowing what led to her being there was devastating, but to know it was for the best & saved her life in the end… I hope she continues to heal.
Although they are proven wrong, Some people get upset about the consequences they would face. It’s like they are not sorry for what they have done.
Egg donors dont deserve respect thts why you call them egg donors ONCE YOU DO CERTAIN THINGS you stop being worthy of the title moms im a survivor of S.A &C.A i was neglected educationally and medically also from some things i still suffer 40+ yrs later i grew up in a religious cult which co-signed on my parents neglect and abuse i was also denied food as punishment lived in tent in yard for yr because there wasnt room for me in the house stole food from store my parents were strict vegans so food wasnt filling took me out of school in 4th grade to care for home siblings and besides i was only going to be a wife and mom anyway we werent allowed to read anything except bible and prophet's books and absolutely no t.v and no radio tht wasnt religious or classical music i still dont get some cultural things i should know from having grown up this way i grew up in America but i didnt i was abandoned in MS at age 15 i got home at 16 went straight to a full time job i left went to n.j got ged and went to nursing school i survived a nightmare of a childhood i got therapy which continues til this day i have to be on rx i mediate i journal you can survive a nightmare you will never be "normal " but you can achieve somewhat of a normal appearance to the outside world but i cut contact with my egg donor who refuses to admit any wrongdoings its better for my mental health anyway parents like this will probably never admit their wrong they have most likely a personality disorder and severe mental issues themselves tht doesnt excuse their behavior but these things dont happen in a vacuum this young lady has choosen to be a survior not a victim lots of ppl who have been victims stay stuck in victomhood and their lives are outa control if you stay stuck in victim mood you are letting your abuser still control your life and hell if im letting tht happen

She’s so strong if it was me and I got the chance to show my mother my assault was true ( I’ve been through the same thing but it wasn’t a bf it was a family member) I wouldn’t even be able to hug her. 😢 I hope slowly they can mend things though for both of their sakes ❤
