Nick is basically the only Grimm that wasn't raised by other Grimms. when he sees someone, it doesn't matter if they are Vesen or not, he sees them as people first and not monsters that have to be exterminated like every other Grimms before him. So his first instinct is not to kill them and the Vesens don't understand this. they were always taught when they were little that a Grimm would come and chop off their head, even the nice and inoffensive ones like the ice beavers.
with nick's mom, we finally get to see for ourselves why all the wesen assume nick, as a grimm, will just murder them all without hesitation. she's more of a traditional grimm and that also kinda highlights how revolutionary nick's approach really is. all because monroe was his gentle, good-humored introduction into the world (and his own strong moral code)
I think you've got that a little backwards. Nick's a cop, and he's always approached his job as Grimm through that lens. His job is not to murder criminals (who are defined by what they've done, not who they are), but to arrest them. And, of couse, if they have not committed any crimes, they are not criminals, so he leaves them alone. That's what enabled his friendship with Monroe in the first place.
@@dajtoad1 of course his job as a cop played a role, but plenty of cops can and have become trigger happy or corrupt and Nick has the tools and power to make someone disappear without a trace or to make things look like an accident or whatever he really needs if he wants to take care of it more like a grimm. would that always be most practical? No, but that doesn't really matter for a person more like past Grimms. That's what the wesen see when they first see him: a grimm with official power to do whatever he wants I'm sorry, this is kind of a rambling stream of consciousness comment, I'm half asleep on writing this on mobile
You touched on the differences between Nick and his Mom. The way she reacts shows why all Vesen fear Grimms. Love your reactions and cant wait for more :)
Nick ~ Buffy (very understanding) Nick's mom ~ Kendra (very black and white with room for improvement lol) Anyone else think the same? LOVED that whole interaction with Nick's mom meeting Monroe and Rosalee. Rosalee was gonna straight up fight for Monroe. Yes girl! We see you 💖 When Nick's mom was like, "You're friends with them?" I immediately thought of Kendra when she asked something similar to Buffy. Something along the lines of: "Did no one tell you what a Slayer really is?" When she found out Buffy has friends and dates a vampire lol. Monroe: "Dude. To be honest, your mother scares the crap out me, man." Made me chuckle. It's scenes like these that I absolutely love between them. Honestly, to me, they act like young teenagers at times whenever they're together lol. It's like the way you would talk to your closest friends. They make us feel like we're friends with them. Especially when they're talking in secret. At least I feel it that way. I just love it ❤
So glad you're back with these. Hope you are doing well. Great reaction. Even though season 2 is just as long as the first one, I think it does well with answering some questions and bringing up new ones, as well as just keeping the mystery. This is a show in which every season is better than the last, so I'm certain you'll enjoy it even more. Stay safe. Love you!
Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, the abyss, the January man, Robin Hood prince of Thieves, Color of Money, Scarface and several more you might never have heard of. Movies that is.
I can understand why Aunt Marie wouldn't tell him about his mum, imagine having that bombshell dropped on you & then having no way to get into contact with her?! As for them upping their game with season 2, that's not just a 1-2 episode thing & I'm really excited to see your reaction to it all (the show is great for delivering on what's been set up & taking things in a slightly different direction from what's expected).
I'm rewatching the reactions to the last few seasons of "Supernatural" from 2021 as I'm watching the current uploads and there's such a difference in sound with Dakara's mic. Anyone else notice this? Kinda like the mic is way too close. It's been like that for awhile.
Hey Dakara, I've been subscribed for 6 years (more than one account because TH-cam likes to delete people). Currently, I mainly use my television, but it's similar on my computer too. I've been rewatching 3 Supernatural reactions per day and when you post new reactions, I watch that first and then my 3 SPNs. It's a marked difference. The old setups sounded like you were in the same room chatting with the viewer. You're my favorite reactor so I'm probably just being silly about the change.
@@brianito7779 my mic and setup has improved a lot since then. I find that speakers can distort the audio more and make it unflattering. I have a shure sm7b which is a really high end mic. I’m supposed to talk directly into it which I tend not to do so maybe that has a slight effect but after talking to multiple people and asking about my audio they’ve all said the audio works completely fine for them. It’s more professional than my old mic so the sound is more rich. Hope it’s not too off putting for you when watching :)
Dislike the narrator in the beginning credits of the show. It only lasts about 5 or 6 episodes then stops. It's just cheesy. EDIT: Cliffhangers are a specialty of the writers of this show. It's quite the ride.
This episode is all wrong. First the suspect should be dead. Second Rosalie should add what was on the cat's claws to several different solutions to see which one Adalind used. The sleeping beauty one reacts and turns purple and not blue. Monrow and Rosalie go to see Nick and arrive after the officers have left with the suspects body. Nick's mother attacks Rosalie and Monrow gets in between. Nick stops them from killing each other and Nick's mother reveals that Rosalie is the secondary target on her phone. No-one knows about the memory erasure part of this. Juliet losing her memories is from the dinner with Hank and Adalind and both Nick and Adalind are erased. Nick learns why his mother and aunt raised him the exact opposite way they were raised. Nick also learns that both his mother and aunt started seeing Wesen as a GRIMM after seeing a Hexenbiest as well. The Wesen sent after Nick by the Royals is there to either kill or compromise Nick. In my version of the story Nick does not take the bait since it is not his investigation, but calls his captain to relay the information to the FBI. Nick's mother is puzzled by this and Nick did not recognize her because she had reconstructive surgery to more closely resemble the GRIMM that brought the keys to her that was actually killed. The only way to keep Nick safe is ensure there is no connection between his mother and Nick. Nick's mother never even told her sister that she was still alive.

Thanks Peter 🤍
Love how you take time he read the opening text. It's linked to most Grimm fairy tales and usually highlights the monster of the week

What device do you watch the videos on?
