if they properly remade it with a actual budget it would be competitive even against persona imo. The characters/story/music/battle system already top notch
I was never really into music as a kid but I think it was the soundtracks of the Lunar games that really got me to start taking notice how beautiful music can be. I know they remade Silver Star Story a bunch of times but I do wish they would port it and Eternal Blue to a modern console or PC. I so want to play these games again.
Lucia is very stoic in the beginning. She is Godlike and without emotion. It's fun to play through the game and see her become more human and gentile. It's lovely watching her learn to sing and watching her fall in love with her friends
2020 and there still isnt an RPG thats compared to Lunar. The priceless characters, perfect soundtrack, great story writing, we just dont get games with this much ''craft'' anymore
Well its time for us to craft something better lol. If there is nothing else these games taught me, it is that there is always hope, and the more that we believe and actually work together, the more it can come to fruition
I love the Lunar Silver Star and Eternal Blue so much. I wish the rest of the series had been handled better but I will always love these two games. The Ending to Eternal Blue always brings me to tears of sadness then joy.
@@dynelol these are Ghaleon's last words before he faded away into the light while the Dragonship Destiny departs to the Zophar's Keep.. Actually, it is the best scene for me.. I even shed a tear during that scene ..
Already said this on another vid of the same song but: This song describes the entire history and truth about all of our favorite good old-fashioned JRPGs in general. :I
Holy syiit! This song randomly pop in mu page. Truly one of the best JRPG in its time. The story, the song, the characters I’d say is on par with FF classic series.
Despite all the delays and some of the more negative things I could say about Working Designs, they did an absolutely spectacular job localizing this and the first Lunar and they are VERY sorely missed.
The point was they cared more than anyone else did at the time. Without them the games they brought over here probably never would have been even attempted
I used to listen to the music from both Silver Star and Eternal Blue right off the Sega CD games all the time; you could pop them into a CD Player and play whatever tracks - sometimes even voice tracks - were made available by the developer, though Track 1 was always considered the "Data" track. While most of Silver Star's soundtrack was available this way, "Rondo Light and Shadows" and "Lucia's Theme" were the only playable tracks for Eternal Blue. Even though getting the songs to play now is as easy as hitting "play" on an MP3 player or hopping onto TH-cam, I still kinda miss those days sometimes, especially since games like these were almost like an "inside secret" between myself and my closest RPG-playing friends (since there were so few of us, comparatively). I gotta say, while I loved the soundtracks overall, this song always felt like it summed up how I felt about the series in general. Also, that amazing bassline beneath Jenny Stigile's awesome vocals has always gotten my attention. Still does. :)
Lunar is still like an “inside secret” for its fans, to be honest. So few people know about it, which is such a shame, cause the first two games are phenomenal.
Still here bro, waiting for a fucking revival of this saga, if i was rich i would pay anyone of working design and Kadokawa shoten for a remake or a new game 🙌🏻
The problem is more that Studio Alex nuked themselves over getting royalties from GA so the ownership is kinda in the air. Same with the non-existent Working Designs even though Victor kinda sorta still owns the localized rights.
DarkAnimeCommander Soto Eternal Blue especially deserves a nice, high quality remake. Silver Star has been remade and ported a pretty ridiculous number of times (Sega CD, Saturn, PS1, GBA, PSP, iOS, PC), while Eternal Blue only got the original SCD, then Saturn and PS1 (which are essentially the same game). I love Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue pretty equally, but I’ve never understood why EB gets consistently overlooked while SSS gets lots of remake love. :(
Enternal Blue (Track 16 - 5:02) A legend of old. A story forgotten. The memories, of true love stolen from time. A darkened romance. Try hard to remember. A doorway to the heart beckons your mind! And now, a corner of night, can lift the weight from you. It's in your hands. If just you understand. A destiny lost. A bond thats been broken. The memories, of a time that slipped away. Just open your mind the way lies before you. A doorway to the heart you seek to find. Love can change the key you hold into a gilded chance. So tear memory from your mind and make it so real. Blue Star above me, Your mystic shimmer tells of love. I should know. Whisper your secret. To soothe my doubt and calm my fear. Blue Star above me, When shadows lengthen and the dark looms ever closer, Turn on your shine and hold me near. When the comet pulls the bow, The stars begin their dance. The time when destiny and hope, Will give birth again. Then if its to be, I'll find a glimmer of the life, I should know. Only that moment can show what I hold so dear. Until that that moment, I'll find comfrot in the love within my slumber. Turn on your charm and hold me near. Blue Star above me, Your mystic shimmer tells of love. I should know. Whisper your secret. To soothe my doubt and calm my fear. Blue Star above me, When shadows lengthen and the dark looms ever closer, Turn on your shine and hold me near.
Broke up with my girlfriend 10 days ago during christmas. I felt like covering this song on the guitar with vocals for her. She said she really loved it. I hope she realizes at some point I can make her happy again.
This series was amazing. I love the idea of the Earth being a moon..to the small planet of Lunar. There is just something so..amazing about that image ..the image of the Blue Star
Yes it was. I was a little kid when i'd call the working designs hotline every saturday and ask when it was coming out. They actually got to know me by name, and when my copy shipped, they actually had it autographed, and gave me a little working designs pin to go with it, with a little birthday card. So yes. Lunar 2 was in fact released in the US on Sega CD.
Working Designs was like that. I ended up finding a Sega Saturn on the cheap in 2002 when shopping at a local flea market and was excited I'd finally be able to play Magic Knight Rayearth but had great difficulty finding it as by then it was out of print and it was already a pretty obscure title to find to begin with. I had ended up writing a post on the Working Designs message board as we were a pretty tight community back then and I knew if there was anyone I could vent my frustrations to it was them. Victor Ireland used to post on the board all the time and he responded to my post basically telling me to contact someone on his staff and he'd make sure I got a copy. After calling the number he gave me I got a brand new / unopened copy of Magic Knight Rayearth shipped directly to my doorstep with a note signed by Victor Ireland with his signature "we'd be nothing without you" line. Even though it was out of print I was only charged MSRP. I will always remember that company for their service and their undying loyalty to their fans. Thanks Vic!
You could make an argument for Hiro or Lucia really. Hiro is definitely the protagonist in a traditional sense since he’s a playable character while Lucia is not (at least not directly). But the plot certainly revolves around Lucia primarily, while Hiro is just an adventurous love struck guy who gets involved inadvertently.
why this version is so bass heavy? There's the brighness that the japanese version have? Uh, idk, very good song, great singing, but i still prefer the instrumental japanese version. The perfect version would be JP instrumental with EN voice.
The main character is Hiro. But Lucia does make a close second, when running around on the world map and even in the epilogue, the sprite you control is Hiro.
25 years later, Lunar follows me to this day.

Hard disagree but yeah Lunar really does feel unique amongst the various jrpg greats
Aged like wine

another dead jrpg franchise. So sad

Epic game of both silver star story n eternal blue.
25 years later, it follows me to this day.
Beat both this year for the first time. One of my all time favs.
I think of this game when I think of a game where the people involved seemed too truly love being part of it.
Lunar 2.. One of the most beautiful games that I have ever played.. Ghaleon's redemption is the most unforgettable scene for me :)

Sucks that licensing is blocking them from going up on PSN as PS1 Classics. Come on Game Arts!
The problem is more that Studio Alex nuked themselves over getting royalties from GA so the ownership is kinda in the air. Same with the non-existent Working Designs even though Victor kinda sorta still owns the localized rights.
Yeah. But I believe Victor Ireland still needs approval from GA to release them on PSN.
I just ripped my discs and play them on emulator so I don't give them wear and tear.
Remake this and the first Lunar for the Switch and I will buy instantly.

Sooooooo 1970s
The Protagonist idk if it was Iwadare or Ireland who gypped us on the production, but the JP version doesn’t sound as ancient. Ok maybe 1980s
