I had this exact car in green in 1974, 2nd owner only 5k miles, gas was so expensive we sold it and shortly after that it was totaled, it broke my heart when I found out, it was a really cool car to learn how to drive at 16 year old.

@@vanguardmotorsales We parked it at my dad's office when it was for sale, he was secretly giving his friends joy rides, he only recently admitted to it, haha at 85yo.
It was a freaking STUPID car to learn to drive in! No 16 year old should be allowed near anything that powerful. No new driver, whatever their age should be allowed near it. I love the thing, but even I, after 40+ years of driving, would be very careful if I was given the keys. Here in the UK, insurance companies would refuse to cover you, and probably just laugh in your face. I'd be surprised if they would even put you on the insurance of an older owner.
@@christopherdean1326 A wreckless driver can kill himself in a 40hp VW just as easily. First car was a built up 67 rs..when you work for everything you own you dont get too stupid with them.

I had the pleasure of driving one of these '69 Auto 428 Cobra Jets and it was so cramped under the hood, that there was only room for air conditioning or power steering. The car could fly.
Owned one for quite a few years. Space was tight! Chilton Auto Repair Manual suggested a plug change was an 8 hour job that included pulling the engine! It was really just 2 plugs that were hard to access, we drilled a hole through the inner fender wall to give easy access.
Probably needs a 4 banger , Hurst !!!!

My dream car for a mustang. Love it except for the auto. If i had the money for it, i wouldn't care, I'd swap a 4spd in it, or possibly a 5 or 6 spd, for confort, That's just me, i wouldn't care about resale value cause I'd drive the crap out of it, like what should be done.
Would be nice if you would get into the throttle on some of these....Arent the SCJ cars the ones with 430 gears or was that an option
We have gotten in trouble with the cops a few too many times to actually rip them down the road like we use to I'm sorry we will try to get on them more! as for the rear gear of the SCJ it was offered with the 3:91 or the 4:30!

You guys want above top dollar for these cars but half or more of them don’t even have air conditioning? They’re off my list if no air. nobody’s going to be drag racing these things, just cruising around so we would like to have air in them. Even if it’s not stock, air conditioning. Thank you.
They'll rarely be driven anyway. They'll be put on a trailer and hauled around from car show to car show.
Not mine, I’ll buy it to drive it when it’s nice weather and “hot” that’s why I’ll have air conditioning in mine.

I live in Florida and drive my pickup truck around with the windows down all summer. If my dog is in the truck, I shut her window, turn on the AC and leave my window down.
I would much rather have the Mach 1 over the boss 429 mustang.

Automatic is the way to go if you actually live where there are people and traffic.
yes for sure. And many times as people get older, they get arthritis and shifting becomes hard. I never thought about that until a guy talked about it in a Mustang forum. He shared his new car and a few nasty replies made fun of him for getting an auto. When he said he was in his 70s and between arthritis and a small stroke, the only way he could ever enjoy his classics again was to get an auto. I felt bad for him but the guys who mocked him seemed to feel like turds, which they should.
Why do you guys get on here complaining about the prices? Price is what you pay, value is what you get. If you can do better, then do it.
I would not hesitate on purchase of any car from Vanguard motors.
Prices are based on quality and quantity of car, Vanguard motors second to none on cars they sell.
Vanguard motors has a 2018 Dodge Demon in Octane Red, that is car for me.
I know guy with 2018 Demon in purple original owner show me car really nice.

With the car being kept this nice and original over the years we wouldn't be interested in swapping it to a manual we'd like to keep it as original as possible. There is a market for autos. As drivers get older, they often have trouble shifting. And safe to say at 150k, the majority of the market for his car are Boomers. 😂
No need to change this original beauty when there are plenty of manuals just as nice out there.
Stunning 69 Mach 1 Super Cobra Jet with…..a what, automatic transmission. This hobby is populated with all kinds of enthusiasts with bizarre ideas. Think of the value of one of the most stunning Mustangs Ford ever designed with the mandatory 4-speed. Dealer is correct though, leave it alone. Ideal car for a Millennial since they can’t drive it with a manual transmission.

I thought Drag Pack rear end was 3:91 Detroit locker...
If you're referring to the fact that I called it a Posi.. a Detroit locker is "Posi" and it does have the correct gear ratio to be that of the original Detroit locker but we have not had it apart to fully confirm the fact that it is for sure a locker or not.
