I made the mistake of buying a Serta flippable continuous coil mattress online. I hate matress shopping. I can feel the springs thru the mattress. It is too firm. I had a pillow top before and it sagged after 3 months. I like thee feel of a pillow top but want it to last more than 3 months. I am a side sleeper, have arthritis in my hips and kneeS and want a mattress that is comfortable and does not sag within a few months. I have watched some of your other videos and was wondering in the pocketed coils with a layer of latex foam would be good for me. I wish I lived closer to you, but alas live in Pa.
Impossible to test a mattress when purchasing online. And many retailers don't even have the models, advertised on their website, on the actual sales floor. Just make sure they have a iron-clad return policy.
Thing is most mattress stores have divan beds, so even if it feels great in the shop, when you get home and have sprung slats it feels totally different.
Unfortunately, you're right Nadya. Large mattress manufacturers change the names of their mattresses year after year or even from one store to another. It's a big reason we recommend not shopping based on just name brand but listening to your body and following a few tips like described in our mattress shopping tips video th-cam.com/video/VsVTOu861zI/w-d-xo.html to help you find the best mattress for your body.
That can be a tough predicament. A couple with that weight and size difference are obviously going to have different needs. I would definitely recommend a king size mattress if they are able to fit it. If they are able to get a king size mattress, then I would recommend a dual firmness mattress where each side is a different firmness and feel. SO one side can be soft, and the other side firmer. I would also recommend doing a split king or split head king mattress as well if they are going with an adjustable base. Our mattresses have a zippered top where we can adjust the firmness quite easily if needed.
I've tried out mattresses in the showroom (couches etc too) and they feel great there but what's delivered to me is a big hard rock.

Truth busting! Thanks for the tips. I’ve definitely made some of these mistakes in my mattress buying experience.

This is why I don't want one

I take my pillow to shop for mattresses then when I lay on my side with my own pillow I get a better idea of how it feels on my shoulders.
Mattress manufacturers change the names and model numbers of their products, making comparison shopping impossible.

A few mattresses are sold in several stores under the same name. The one I got is. I got such a mattress specifically so I could shop around.
So how does a couple buy a bed. One 300 pounds , one 110 pounds, and different sleeping positions?
