      Bear Foot Bowhunter I hadn’t even planned on trying PSE but figured with spending an good amount of money on a bow I’d try a few. One of the guys at the shop asked me to try the 33 I did and loved it he said I should try the 35 I’m 6’4” 30” draw. I over the VXR but the PSE just felt better to me more dead in hand and sound a little quieter... not sure if it is but it’s also about feel it just fit

    I purchased the NXT 31 for two reasons. (1st) my draw length is slightly over 26ish and the NXT 33 starts off at 26.5". (2nd) is the weight. I wanted the 35 with the se cam (DL-25.5-31") but the NXT 31" was a little heavy for me. Used to it now and even with just an 8" stabilizer the groupings are tight. This bow was actually a little scary to me at first due to its speed & stealth. I will NEVER sell this bow, it's a lifer !!!

    Hey there, just looking for some help. I have replaced the 70 pound limbs with the 80 pound limbs. But as the limbs have numbers on them (139,137,134,135) I was wanting to know the order they should be on? Which number for top left, top right etc. I emailed PSE months ago, no reply. Can anyone help? Cheers

  • @Buran01
    @Buran01 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    The good news is that the PSE EVO NXT lineup is more silent and deader in hand than the Evolve and Evoke lineups, thanx to the adoption of more paralel limb placement and larger brace height, and that albeit the declared IBO speeds are lower, the real speeds overperform and are specially good with heavy arrows. The bad news is that PSE removed the cages from the riser in the Evoke just to cut production costs (a caged riser requires more time to cnc and also larger ingots of aluminum); this is pretty evident due they removed all their caged models from their pro series lineup (is very rare for a bow manufacture to remove a model after a single year of sales) except the Expedite. To compensate potential loss of stiffness they made the riser more thick, which ended in more weigth, which in this particular 31" model is very close to the Mathews Triax.
    PSE said that the EVO NXT bows are more focused in smoothness (which really never was a problem with the Evolve cam), and I think that they are good bows, but since the price is the same and arguably are cheaper to produce, I don't think that owners of Evolves and Evokes would feel too compelling to jump to the NXT. This year Bear added variable draw length to their lineup with the EKO cams to the Status and Divergent, and is rumored that both the new Bowtech and Elite hunting bows will have cams with variable draw length and cam slide without a bow press (models which will be released in the next 3 weeks), so if neither Hoyt or Mathews or Prime (which also will reveal new models in that timeframe) achieve to make large innovations in their new products, seems that this year the fight for the best hunting compound will be decided between Bowtech and Elite.

    • @teamflanneloutdoors5631
      @teamflanneloutdoors5631 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Elite is struggling.
      PSE made new bows with Elite characteristics, smooth, forgiving, slow(er), and you're complaining.

    • @Buran01
      @Buran01 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@teamflanneloutdoors5631 I've read that in 2018 PSE outpaced Hoyt and Mathews in business volume so yeah, they are a lot bigger and more sucessful that Elite. Which is irrelevant for the topic. The Evolve cam is a fantastic design, in terms of versatility, smoothness and performance, but PSE has been using it for 3-4 years and looking it from the fence the main theme of the 2020 lineup seems to be costs savings and increasing the profit x sale (less colors available to streamline the production, removal of caged risers which are expensive to produce, etc). There's nothing bad about it but there's no reason to try to sugar coat it under excuses. Their best new model is probably the Match 1 due the enhancements in the grip design and the lightweigth compared against the competence.

    • @ObelixCMM
      @ObelixCMM 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally I didn't like Evoke line of bows, and I loved original Evolve. Looks like nobody did like them or PSE wouldn't drop them after one year in production. Didn't shoot any of the EVO NXT line yet, but I'm guessing they are closer to original Evolve feel.
      Prime is adding rotating modules to their new bows.

    Anxiously awaiting the 35 review. Is it better than my 16’ Phenom DC? The numbers are eerily similar, and I shoot that bow well for hunting whitetail deer, just wish it was a skosh quicker.

    They fix the creaking mods issue yet?

  • @outdoorlifewithdougb
    @outdoorlifewithdougb 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love your reviews but I get confused with the draw length adjustable module. As you decrease draw length does that mean you're losing the efficiency of the cams? Meaning the length of the string gets shorter due to shorter draw length which will affect the draw curve? Or the vam stops short of its usage. Thanks if you can clarify that for me.

    • @teamflanneloutdoors5631
      @teamflanneloutdoors5631 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doesn't matter if DL is adjustable or you have to buy mods.

    • @outdoorlifewithdougb
      @outdoorlifewithdougb 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So there's no adjustment on the cam for draw length? Moving the screws to different letters?

    • @teamflanneloutdoors5631
      @teamflanneloutdoors5631 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Doug B misunderstood your question, YES adjustable DL without a press.
      Very handy, all bows should have this! I experimented with 1/2” increments both ways to ensure my measured DL was actually where I shot best.

    • @outdoorlifewithdougb
      @outdoorlifewithdougb 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@teamflanneloutdoors5631 so did it shorten the string hence efficiency of the bow? Cam draw curve is affected I assume? Especially if it's on the same cam.

    • @loki8284
      @loki8284 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Shorter draw length = shorter power stroke. So the arrow ends up moving slower since the bow has less string travel to accelerate the arrow.

    Why is it that the archery Industry uses Ibo specs when maybe 10% of the people are really into Ibo. It does an injustice to us as target archers or hunters you know normal people. I think we need to go back to AMO standards something a little more realistic like #60 pounds 29" And maybe something like 8 or 9 grains per pound. That is more in the realm of what 90% of the people do anyone who shoots 5 grains per pound in a hunting situation is just asking for problems.
