fun fact: Davao is a fruit basket of the Philippines 80% of fruit products of the Philippines that would export in several countries in the world are from Davao City. and some of the .major export are Mango, Banana, pineapple, and durian obviously Davao fruits are way far cheaper compared to the rest of Philippines.
I bought so many chocolate bar when i went to davao. I ate nothing but fruits which is 50%cheaper than manila. Davao is the basket fruits of the Philippines.
You can see the Philippine eagle and more different eagles up close in the Phil Eagle center in Malagos. Davao's famous chocolate is also there in Malagos Garden Resort.
Davao is also known for the sweetest pomelos. Choose the small and heavier ones. They’re the best.
Try Guyabano and langka fruit next time. Very delicious.🥭

mangosteen is a very healthy fruit. you can make a tea from the peel of mangosteen. the antioxidants of it can neutralize the damaging effects of most common chronic diseases. it is a seasonal fruit. best to visit Davao City for seasonal fruits and festivals are March and August.

Hi, just I said before in my earlier comment that when lanzones is being swarmed by ants, that means the fruit is very sweet but don't let the ants get to your homes for they will create a colony in your house so, shake the lanzones to get rid of the ants from its stem.

There are lots of fruits and veggies in Davao....it is has lots of foods....very cheap!....I always compare Davao city ....I have been in other places....there is no other place like Davao city....we have planted cacao on our front area....mangga and others....for consumption only...we do not sell but gave it to neighbors...mostly mangoes if it is seaon time....cacao is all throughout the year...and others are for shade and fresh air.....
At the end of the video, one can easily see that those fruits you bought are fresh. So cheap, too! Fresh fruits should have slight blemishes on them (yes, and sometimes even ants, too ... hahaha!). However, in many Western supermarkets, the more expensive fruits there have hardly any blemishes because they are sprayed with herbicides and have preservatives so they don't spoil too quickly! That's why they look prettier. However, many don't taste as sweet. When I go to those supermarkets abroad, I often see bright yellow bananas on the shelves that stay bright yellow with no blemishes for several weeks! That is definitely NOT natural at all!!! 😊👍❤
A lot of fruits in the West, specifically in the US and Canada are also coated in wax. Tropical fruits are imported so they have to last longer. Not too many produce can be grown all year round either because of their four season. Also, produce are almost perfect not because they are sprayed with chemicals, it's because consumers demand that fruits and vegetables look a certain way. It's the same in Japan and Korea. They have to look immaculate for the consumers. Imperfect looking produce is tossed out.
Oh, those yellow bananas are tasteless because these tropical fruits are picked while they are still green. They weren't given the opportunity to ripen on the "vine" so that affects the taste. Since these fruits have to travel for miles, picking them before they're ready ensures that by the time they reach the grocery shelves, they'll be "ripe". It's the price non tropical countries have to pay if they want to eat produce that can't grow in their climate. Also, prices are outrageous compared.to countries where they are naturally grown because of abundance and they're readily available.

It's not durian season that's why prices are 80 to 100 a kilo but season time that is around 40 to 60 per kilo or sometimes they bargain it for around 25-30 per kilo. 😊 You must come here around August during Kadayawan festival, that is usually a harvest season for different kind of fruits. 😂 By the way usually hotels and motels here in Davao prohibits someone bringing durian inside the building because of the smell? It's good that you brought it inside. 😂😂😂

True, when you visit a place, try their specialties and what they are known for because it's the authentic one and you'll get the best (example, sweetest fruit of that kind etc).

For durian, you can try puyat and cob variety when it comes flesh to seed ratio and the taste , it's creamy, sweet and with a bit bitter aftertaste.
If you are still in davao please try their pomelo, its very sweet. for watermelon, try the oblong shape. the color inside is usually yellow and sweet also. I think you haven't tried jackfruit yet, please try it in davao because fruits davao are very compared to other places in the philippines.
Try the kaymito (star apple), avocados, papaya, bananas, pineapple. Davao has some of the best-tsting fruits! But the best is the suh (pomelo)! They are known for that.

If it's in season durian / mangosteen price per kilo will reach 30/35pesos per kilo even 25 pesos same with mango lansones rambotan. Marang 15/20 pesos

If it's not ripe yet, it will taste sour, very sour.
It's kinda an acidic fruit, so it's better to eat it after eating meal. Over-eating it may cause hyperacidity.

You can visit Philippine Eagle then go to Malagos Farm and Bamboo Sanctuary. They are quite far from the city but the 3 of them are close to each other.. you can see actual Phil eagle, you can taste and experience chocolate and cacao in Malagos and enjoy the Unique bamboo sanctuary🫶
