it always feels like le sserafim's team has way too many ideas they want to execute & the final product ends up falling flat in meaning. all the ingredients are there to create multiple great bodies of work for them, but their team doesn't seem to know what they're doing. +besides yunjin, none of the girls seem to have much of a hand in their creative work so it ends up feeling inauthentic as opposed to maybe gidle or kiss of life.
it didnt help that the itzy fanpage on yt posted lia making a mistake during mafia in the morning and the hate started to boil up again and then people been on her butt about her dancing
Itzy needs to steal nmixxs team because nmixxs creative direction is far more creative and unique compared to itzy's team and its disappointing because the girls just deserve more than just copy and paste of thier older stuff but WATERED DOWN its so bad that i can't defend the current itzy art direction because its so souless and so dull and if nmixxs team working for itzy future comebacks i think itzy's creative would be bold, creative, and unique again but untill then I'll not care for the concept for itzy but ill wish them the best

Why are you showing us this set with this specific set of outfits and hair with this type of filter on it? Does it connect with the previous release or the members themselves? And its a problem i have had with kpop for some time and i hoped with groups like aespa and new jeans it might get better but it probably has to get worse for anything of substance to grow from this lazy Pinterest presentation on display for the current gen
i’ve had the same exact feelings regarding g-idle, which is why i honestly don’t bother touching on them. the way their fans have gone out of their way to intellectualize their releases now has been exhausting to witness, i had to mute their names from everything 😭🙏🏽
As a MIDZY since dalla dalla, I agree with everything you said for ITZY's part! I hated the fact that Div2 just HAD to make them have a full album when Lia was on hiatus. Like no one would let their group just make a comeback and not just a normal comeback but a FULL ALBUM without their main vocalist?? And also I'm just so disappointed that the ITZY team is putting less and less effort into their music and MVs, what happened to their strong bold editing style and concept? I enjoyed the born to be album for a while but now I don't listen to it anymore as it gets boring after a while. I seriously hope Div2 gets a grip and does whatever it takes for ITZY to be as popular like last time again, at least before their contract ends :(

Also I feel like BORN TO BE was more a a Deluxe or Maxi Mini Album. It has 5 songs as a full OT4. Which if we take away the solos that’s a Mini or EP lol. JYPE is/has been doing weird things
People saying jyp ggs owned 2024 so far is so weird in my opinion. Like how? Yes, nmixx ate but born to be? Very lackluster and like how does it fit into their discography? No personality imo. Also, I totally agree they shouldn’t have released this album. A solo debut (that would’ve sounded and looked different than the existing ones) would’ve been cool or even a sub unit (as you’ve mentioned) like red velvet did. So disrespectful towards Lia. The worst Itzy era in every category. It’s genuinely so sad because I used to love Itzy so much. With you-th? It was ok but like will I remember any of it in 6 months? I don’t think so, it’s just not as cohesive and recognizable as for example alcohol free or even scientist which are recent-ish comebacks I’ve personally enjoyed. Nah they do it right. Hybe is basically fast food kpop but JYPE groups are meant to last. NiziU came out of nowhere and won a music show as a fully Japanese group, Twice is still here and NMIXX is slaying. Well idk whatever Itzy's division is doing but it's all about longevity instead of hype which feels refreshing in an era where 14 year olds seem to be considered too old and gg can barely last one contract renewal. The company also sees the other markets, VCHA is really fun. They'll do great even if people will jump at Katseye the moment they debut. Compare Hybe gg to Twice and you know what I mean. Hybe still has no respect for gg, this sentiment is normal in kpop but I like that the women are dominating in JYPE. This sounded weird but I'll take a stable mid group over a one-single per year gg every time. I also feel like we as gg stans need to be more loyal like bg stans and not go at each other over some silly numbers bc in the end, who's laughing? The bg stans who can live to see their idols perform happily well into their 30s or 40s. Idk maybe I got off track? We can ditch Itzy though if they continue like this😳

mwuah tankchuu. i do think it’s worth noting though that i’m 25 (just turned in feb) + i have an intersectional identity, so i’ve had a lot of experience before entering the kpop scene and that aids to my commentary. a lot of kpop stans from what i’ve seen are like 15-18 (and a lot are also white 😬) so it makes sense that a lot of them sometimes don’t think much further about real issues that are happening, it’s a bit understandable
i feel like the concept photos + music videos should've kept a similar aesthetic to the trailer. something like a pg version of poster girl's ss24 campaign or charli xcx's "von dutch".

I'll focus on one aspect of their art direction. One of the things that I've seen a decline in is their album art. It never really started tbh but I could see the reason behind them. i’ve always seen marriage as a business union that locks down women, leaving them unable to escape abusive situations in a time needed. it’s proven that most women are murdered by their spouses as 9/10 times it’s when they’re getting ready to leave their marriages. to me, it has always felt like a trap and a lot of the men at least in america understand this, hence why they preach about marriage and family values despite doing the opposite. no fault divorce only was introduced in the 70’s and ever since then radical conservatives in this country have been railing against it and even trying to get rid of it. they’ve slowly been dismantling every other access that women have a right to in this country and i have no doubt that nfd is next on the list. not to mention, many women marry young (early 20’s) when their life is just beginning and their brain has just developed, just feels very weird that they’re also locked into a commitment that they will most likely want out of in less than 10 years. so i’m anti-marriage, it feels predatory and borderline a weapon of abuse against women 👍🏽
@@shprism the idea of women’s access to divorce being restricted is so scary. Out of my older female relatives, only two have never gotten a divorce (and one of them is going to soon). I can’t imagine where they’d be now if they were unable to leave their ex-husbands, because some of those men were genuinely horrible
hi bestie!! typography is actually one of their best, the concept photos are gorgeous expanding on such a simple concept with interesting composition and color grading-again, one of their best and actually correlate to the concept which shows massive improvement from their two previous body of work. reminds me a lot of my work for jen’s just my luck/just my love, so i’m very invested. love the motion teasers thus far too! i think the only area they fumbled personally is with the album packaging as i feel like it’s getting stale seeing them do the same thing over and over again (the zine format) when these concepts should have packaging that correlate better, y’know? missed opportunity but we’re looking at their best work to date!

yes, im not a fan of jewelcases in relation to k-pop because not much care are put into them compared to a more developed package version. the only jewelcases i own from kpop are both from red velvet, even then it was actually worth the money. wouldn’t recommend buying any from this generation unfortunately, even if they are from SM
I’ve seen their teasers, I like them-one of the sets reminds me a lot of Min Heejin’s style, the other is very reminiscent of Cho Giseok’s work. I don’t really care for them mainly because I’m sort of getting exhausted with the amount of minors debuting out of HYBE at this point but they seem to have a good head on their shoulders

hi bestie!! typography is actually one of their best, the concept photos are gorgeous expanding on such a simple concept with interesting composition and color grading-again, one of their best and actually correlate to the concept which shows massive improvement from their two previous body of work. reminds me a lot of my work for jen’s just my luck/just my love, so i’m very invested. love the motion teasers thus far too! i think the only area they fumbled personally is with the album packaging as i feel like it’s getting stale seeing them do the same thing over and over again (the zine format) when these concepts should have packaging that correlate better, y’know? missed opportunity but we’re looking at their best work to date!

@@shprism no don't take the magazines from me :( they're so shiny~ (I get you though Dreamcatcher had magazines for OOTD, they always change the versions per cb and this one was correlated to vanity / fashion) btw what do you think about the abysmal jewel cases / digipack designs of other groups? They always have like a zoomed in picture of the idol's face and it always looks so bad😢
yes, im not a fan of jewelcases in relation to k-pop because not much care are put into them compared to a more developed package version. the only jewelcases i own from kpop are both from red velvet, even then it was actually worth the money. wouldn’t recommend buying any from this generation unfortunately, even if they are from SM

I’ve seen their teasers, I like them-one of the sets reminds me a lot of Min Heejin’s style, the other is very reminiscent of Cho Giseok’s work. I don’t really care for them mainly because I’m sort of getting exhausted with the amount of minors debuting out of HYBE at this point but they seem to have a good head on their shoulders
