Contrary to the opinions expressed in the comments of most of the "knowledgeable cricket enthusiasts" here, I would like to say With that huge swing, a touch as faint as that would not have been felt. Even if it were to be felt, being a short man, there's a great chance that he would have thought, in that split moment, that the bat could have brushed the ground as well. You never know but Tendulkar being Tendulkar, had walked away when he was sure, in the most significant matches of all time. Then why would someone have any doubts on his integrity in a best-of-3 finals of a tri-series? Pathetic

Rudi was umpiring at least two years beyond the peak of his powers. I remember watching an Australia vs Sri Lanka test where he gave Sangakarra out when he was on 193(ish) when it clearly hit his shoulder.
That dismissal of Sanga made me very sad. He was batting like a man possessed on that day. He really took the fight into the Aussie camp on that day. Amazing batting.
What a massive edge that was!!! The ball just deviated square after hitting the edge of the bat and an unbelievable bit of catching done by Gilchrist there, flying in the air and managing to get the ball into his gloves just in the right amount of time!!!
Maybe the ball swinged and there was no edge there is no evidence for the edge in this video . Forget spirit of game when playing against the biggest cheaters australia..your 12 th man said it is not out means not out..
The title says "after massive edge to Gilchrist" but the caption top of screen at the start says "clean bowled". As you apparently don't know the difference, you seem ill-qualified to pontificate on cricket.
I am an Australian & I have no issue when Tendulkar did not walk. Not walking is not cheating. It is up to the umpire to do his job properly. Steve Fucknor also cost Tendulkar many runs with shoddy umpiring. The referral system is now in place which at least reduces such howlers getting through the cracks.
I don't think anyone should walk unless the umpire definitely gives you out and the review supports it. You don't just willingly hand the opposing team a wicket or point or anything, doesn't matter how nice you are :P
Amongst the batsmen I knew only 3 were walking examples: Gundappa Vishwanath, Brian Lara and Adam Gilchrist. They walked whenever they knew they nicked it.
"Whenever they knew they nicked it".... here Sachin flashed hard, and at such times the batsman might not feel a nick. And the Aussies appeal even if the batsman's knuckles crack.... so that's hardly any criterion 😏
As being a cricket player..Sometimes it happens that we get confuse while playing the shot forward ,I think that would have been the case here with sachin and we all know God's honesty...

In the Pre-DRS era… Honestly I never believed in Batsman walking off after edging a ball… Because when umpire gives you out without edging the ball you can’t stay at the crease & dispute… So it’s only fair to not walk off when you are given not out… Now it’s a bit different with DRS in play though
That has been my opinion on walking since I started following cricket in the 1970's in Australia. You can't overrule the umpire to give yourself "not out", so you are under no obligation to overrule him to give yourself "out". Simple. No exceptions. I'm personally against batsmen, such as Gilchrest, walking at all, as it confuses the issue and puts pressure on other batsmen to do the same.
Good on you Sachin for staying put. Look, I admire Gilly for walking if that's what HE wants... But it's not cheating if you don't. As long as Sachin remembers that let off when he's given lbw after a big inside edge... Can't recall Gilly ever arguing with umpire when he thought that he wasn't out. Hahaha 😂😂 very nice bhai great punch line for my favourite Sachin Tendulkar. 🇮🇳
Confidently cheating.
we are arguing one incident 13-14 years after it happened 🤣🤣
He wasn't given out. Had the umpire raised his finger he would have left the ground. And see, he isn't throwing attitude or getting angry. He is part of the era of the when gentlemen played. (I mean barring Australia obviously, it was the other way round for them even at that time, with very few players who had sportsman spirit like Gilchrist)

It's not too worse than Sydney test😂
A good player is a person who not only plays well, but also shows sportsmanship and team spirit.
If that's the scenario, then Sachin walked off the Field in Sharjah Cup despite the Umpire haven't given the decision.
For every Steve Bucknor there is equal and opposite Rudy Curtzon.

Pathetic
Integrity? He was a cheat and a liar

Not out is not out. Simple as as. Umpires decision.
Rudi was umpiring at least two years beyond the peak of his powers. I remember watching an Australia vs Sri Lanka test where he gave Sangakarra out when he was on 193(ish) when it clearly hit his shoulder.

The words medium and Mitchell Johnson don't go together...
I would have done the same thing if i was playing against australia 😂💀
When broad linked in twitter 😂
I don't think anyone should walk unless the umpire definitely gives you out and the review supports it.
You don't just willingly hand the opposing team a wicket or point or anything, doesn't matter how nice you are :P
Thats not sportsmanship..Gilly never waited for umpire to give him out...however austrailins hv done this on numerous occassions...
Amongst the batsmen I knew only 3 were walking examples: Gundappa Vishwanath, Brian Lara and Adam Gilchrist.
They walked whenever they knew they nicked it.
Add Sangakara to the list
"Whenever they knew they nicked it".... here Sachin flashed hard, and at such times the batsman might not feel a nick.
And the Aussies appeal even if the batsman's knuckles crack.... so that's hardly any criterion 😏
As being a cricket player..Sometimes it happens that we get confuse while playing the shot forward ,I think that would have been the case here with sachin and we all know God's honesty...
Yeah. May be sachin didn't know for sure that there was a nick. To walk off just like that is an instinctive and sureshot decision. Not the case here.
Do u know how many times Sachin get out bcoz of wrong decision.... Its 38 times... 7 times against pak....8 against aus.. 5 against eng..
So a player who has played so many matches will obviously be given out falsely but count the number of time he was'nt given out
II was expecting this comment. but don't think if someday had that kind of wrong decision more than 10. 37 is still a big no.
And you can still make a ratio with other players. Sachin will be the most unluckiest player in the cricket.
