Hospital Update!

  • Welcome to my first week inpatient at Kessler Rehabilitation. So far, it is absolutely amazing and a breath of fresh air in comparison to my previous experiences at Rehabilitation hospitals. Shockingly enough, as stated in this video, the approach was always to yell at me and tell me it was somehow my fault and that I needed to just "stop shaking". Such a therapeutic approach, right? 😆 Anyways, finally I am at a facility looking for wanswers and investigating ways in which to strengthen my legs and allow for ease of mobility. I have a bunch of future videos planned so make sure to stay tuned and look out for those. Any suggestions of potential topics are greatly appreciated! Lots of love

      @@autumnskylardoeseverything I watched your other half proposing to you (alongside everyone else on the channel). We men have our "intuitions" just like you women 🚺...although we're often trained from early boyhood to discount them. I suspect we also have other similar things (those days when we're extra forgetful and dog like in our lack of attention. You know what I mean).
      I would say he's a very good fellow. Who will love you no matter what. My congratulations to you both.
      I'm sure your not going to be fine. But in fact are already fine.
      Lots of love.

    Young lady, you have a great attitude. You remind me of my wife about how she handles doctors and facilities. She use to say if you don't manage your own health no one else will. She was diagnosed with type one diabetes at age 7. She was handled differently through grade school. Before I came along at age 14, her ex dumped her and girls treated her differently. I didn't even know what diabetes was. I was a jock. We married 8 years later at 22 and had our miracle daughter two years after. So to move on why am I telling you this ; your a strong young lady, I don't know your relationship with Tommy but the way he proposed to you, please take no offense, with your medical condition says a lot about him. My mom use to tell me if you marry that girl your going to have a difficult time with her medical conditions. We did but we handled it together, just having our daughter she had to be in the hospital 30 days before c section to take the baby at the right time rush her to a children’s hospital for intense care. Two weeks. Thus our miracle baby and told to have no more. We had a lot of up and downs before diabetes took her life in 2017. We had 54 years together going back to age 14. So you stay positive and keep strong and take control of your health care. Well, this is long enough good luck to you and Tommy and your parents they are going through it also.
    🙏☮️

    Gaslighting seems to happen a lot to us people with weird illnesses. I have EDS, CM, meralgia parestetica ( prob spelled wrong) and at least one cervical rib, just had blood tests apparently have a high platelet count which Ive always had for years but my current doctor is at least trying to look into whats going on with that. Glad you are getting some help from decent source now.
    Ive had that same attitude being told not to be ridiculous and treated like Im crazy and was the same with my daughter and I was supporting her too, if she was a year or so younger Id have been accused of muchausens by proxy, it was definitely going that way so I got the being dismissed and treated like Im crazy for myself and for my daughter too. It would be nice if life was a bit simpler, easier healthwise at least! Good luck, hope you manage to get the chair you need, a decent wheelchair is a big thing!

    • @autumnskylardoeseverything
      @autumnskylardoeseverything  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is absolutely insane, doctors do not care unless you are an easy case and that's the hardest part of getting treatment, not giving up when they tell you to. I wish you both luck in your journey through Healthcare, and thank you

      @@autumnskylardoeseverything Yeah exactly but |I do think the healthcare system is broken all over, am in Scotland, we still have the NHS but its so broken and thats just for people with common illnesses that are treatable but those of us with more complex health problem have barely anything. The only way we get specialists for these "rare" illnesses is when doctors decide that's the field they want to work in.
      When I first found out about EDS and was first diagnosed there was a clinic here that seen 3 people a month lol which was pretty dire but we dont really hae that anymore because the professor who started it and ran it has retired now about 8 years ago and there wasnt anyone to replace him, there are some of the doctors who trained under him who are still sort of keeping it going but its not a clinic now, its just a rheumatology appointment and hope for the best. There is only one actual EDS physo specialist in Glasgow that muy daughter used to see but had stopped for a few months and they changed everything so you cant even see her now. But yeah you have to basically fight and keep fighting otherwise you will get absolutely nowhere, its not easy to have to fight so much just to get luck and get some help although when you do it can make the world of difference.
      I really think I need another Occupationaly Therapy Assessment.
      Good luck again, all the best! Hope you can get back to your singing again, it really sucks when you cant do a lot of the things you want to do too but am sure yuo will be back at it soon enough! All the best.

      Thank you so much! And yes, I was born with my conditions. The severity was not known to us until I had an emergency brain surgery at 16 and then everything since has been a learning experience, wherein I learn I have all these conditions and have had them. Thanks for inquiring!
