    I'll never forget when my mom took me to the cable company to order Wrestlemania 13 a week before the PPV the lady said something like "no, that's this weekend." I told my mom it's next week. But they gave us the PPV cylinder that day to screw into our cable cord. So we got to watch Uncensored '97 for free the week before Wrestlemania 13. Luckily the lady who rented us the PPV cylinder didn't know the difference in the rasslin feds 👍

I know they were trying to build up Sting wanted a title shot and the NWO and Hollywood Hogan who was champion and Hogan didn't want no one else to beat him for the title which made no sense he was champion for that long period of time

    I hate to say this, but what was lost in all of this is the significance of the DDP and Kimberly segment. This will put into motion what could be called one of the best rivalries in the WCW/NWO era history. Not to mention that Pro Wrestling Illustrated gave it the rivalry of the year for 1997 and it put DDP in the spot light as the people's champion. Next to Sting and Flair, no one was loved more or got a bigger pop than DDP. Hands down one of the best wrestlers of the 90"s. Love the videos and keep up the great work Wrestling Bios.

    This was a decent ppv I really enjoyed Eddie guerrero vs dean malenko for the u.s title it was a pretty good match even though I prefer the starrcade 1997 match more better. But it was a fun match that setup Eddie Guerrero's heel turn.

    Chris Kanyon's mortis character was actually pretty badass...he really took a character that was meant to be the scorpion to glacier's sub-zero and turned it into something that stands on it's own...no wonder wwe briefly considered bringing it back...

    This was the first WCW show I'd ever seen after watching WWE religiously since the 80's, and I thought it was really good! Judging by this video, that's likely because I hadn't been subjected to the really confusing main event lead-up

    I have always been a huge Glacier mark, and the Blood Runs Cold storyline was awesome as a 10 year old, and rewatching 1997 back again a few years ago, I enjoyed it even more. It was a good gradual build with Glacier first, then Mortis, Wrath, and finally Ernest Miller. It 90% took place on Saturday Night and Worldwide, but that doesn't bother me. I have always preferred the "Jobber Shows" as I call them (Saturday Night, Pro, WorldWide, and Main Event circa 1997 - 2000).

    The crowd is dead for Rey vs Prince because all these high spots don’t mean a thing. Same reason today’s wrestling draws a fraction of a fraction of the audience of the late 90’s.

    • @drewcross9927
      @drewcross9927 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you mean "high spots"? As a kid, I honestly wasn't into the cruiserweight... I just liked the drama. So seeing a storyline build up made the match matter to me. The cruiser weights always seemed like choreography to me so I couldn't buy into it. But I thought lots of other people really enjoyed it.
