I appreciate what you have shared. I am new to the dahlia world in the PNW and am trying to do lots of research before purchasing. The strong stems make total sense plus prolific bloomers as I will want to share with neighbors and friends. I don’t have much space so I need to be careful on the few varieties I end up purchasing, so again, your video was very helpful. Thank you.
I just wanted you to know that I really enjoy watching your videos! I’ve learned a lot from you! I’m going to start a cutting flower garden starting this Fall! I just love gardening! And growing both veggies and flowers! I’ve decided to sell simple cottage arrangements! I’m looking forward to this new adventure! Thank you so much for making such insightful videos!! 🌻
Also in Iowa. This heat has taken its toll on my dahlias. No matter how much water they are just crisping up and the blooms are browning around the edges. Planted in full sun here in eastern Iowa
That suncrest looked amazing. I'm growing wine eyed Jill also. I love double Jill last year. I thought all the multi colors in it we're perfect for bouquets because it pulled everything together you should look into that one. I've grown golden scepter and it's quite a bit smaller than the regular balls I would consider a pompom almost but it was prolific. I'm just finishing all my Dahlia orders also this video got me excited. Thanks
OMG - I've just cut my dahlias for tomorrows market. I have a fairly good lot - the Cafe au Lait are just so massive I'm taking a big bunch just for a display - they'll look fabulous and blowsy in a big tall container. That red Cornell is just amazing - really rich, beautiful shade. Enjoy those!
Just a note that there is a Peaches N Cream variety pictured here and another called Peaches and Cream. They are very different. Be sure to get the right one!
So fun to see all that you have coming! You will have to let us know if Maarn and Sylvia are the same. I only have Sylvia but I’ve read they are the same, just Sylvia is the European name-I could be way off on that tho.
Great choices! I grow about 85% of what you just ordered. The ball dahlias do the best in a vase! I pulled my golden scepter as I thought the flower was too small. Enjoy them all!!
I was able to get some of the same tubers. Just double checking what was the most useful size of organza bag that you used? Can't wait to see how they do in your hoop house.
Great selection of dahlia tubers. I also found it hard to get some varieties as they were all sold out or unavailable by the time I placed an order. Also prices have really gone up this year here in the UK as most bulbs come from the Netherlands.
Great video! Wondering if dinner plate dahlias are too large for cut flower bouquets to sell? Or can you control the size by manipulating growing conditions or environment? Thanks
On Fleur Farms website, I thought they sell them as tuber clumps.....and only a few varieties as a single tuber? Is that not correct? Some of the ones you listed you got from that website, are also ones that I purchased and it said tuber clump.
I'm doing the same thing- since I don't have a huge farm, I'm just ordering 1-2 of each (also to try them) and then I will dig & divide them as they multiply. I also finally got ahold of Crichton Honey & Peaches N Cream. I've been wanting Crichton Honey b/c of Erin @theimpatientgardener.

All beautiful 💕💕Can’t wait to see them all in bloom.
Sylvia has great amount of blooms and the tuber production is next level
That is one of my favs
Can’t wait to see how they grow! So many pretty colors! Peaches n Cream is so hard to find.
Excited I finally got one!
That's totally true. I ordered mine from Red Daisy in August.
Those are going to be beautiful! Great selection.

Thank you Christina, you ordered some very beautiful dahlias ! ❄️💚🙃

Oh no. So sorry! It’s been a dry summer
Get a shade cloth! Hopefully it will help ❤

You should grow other bulbs like glads and lilies
I will have glads this year!

Have fun!
This is my first time ordering from jakes group and I’m so excited!!! I ordered 3 each of 6 varieties!!! Did I mention I’m excited😂
That is awesome!
Just a note that there is a Peaches N Cream variety pictured here and another called Peaches and Cream. They are very different. Be sure to get the right one!
Hmmm. Will see what I got!

Will do!
I also bought Sylvia - Maarn and thought it was the same.

Thanks for the tips!

I think the 6x9 was the one I used most!

That’s why I like to buy from small flower farms. A little more expensive but I like supporting them and I can grow my stock thru the years!
I also noticed peaches n cream was kind of pricey at some sellers 😊
Definitely
So can you tell us how you take cuttings of dahlias?
Video coming next week!
Great!

I grew a dinner plate dahlia a couple years ago and used a few blooms! They were super pretty but didn’t last as long
@@SunshineFlora thanks! That’s helpful
Which lapel mic do you use?
This works great, except when you spill coffee on it! Hahah

Oh maybe??? Will see when they come!
Look at coseytown
They are beautiful, but super spendy!

They are both extremely lovely and worth paying a bit extra for.. :)
