I have 4 110s, the original, the slim select, the slim pro Micarta, and the slim pro G10, last 2 are in s30v and 2 of my fav knives ever made.

I love my buck 110 slim with canvas micarta handle in khaki brown with the S30v steel with Bos heat treatment . Amazingly sharp , light weight , and can’t beat the slim carry in the pocket.

I'd go with the Buck 110, I love the blade shape and they always have a great hollow grind, as well as great customer service.

Buck uses 420 HC not 440C

110 is a safer lock mechanism being stronger spring and a back lock which is out of the way of your full grip. Back lock gives more leverage as its longer also. Its better for a working mans knife for sure. Especially in a pull grip.

If you live in California the Dozier is for you it is legal to carry and when opened it feels like a fixed blade
And if you didn't know fixed blades are illegal in California if over 2 inches

Looking at reviews because I'm looking to get a budget EDC right now. I almost got the Dozier because I thought it's US made, not anymore. I'm interested to the Buck 341 and would ignore the imperfections but will probably end up with RAT2 or one of the Kizers.

In New Zealand I can pick up a Dozier for 60 dollars nz, but the buck 110 slim is 110 dollars nz.
So over here the Dozier is the winner by a country mile😏

I just don't understand some of the things people say about the 110 and the 112 Slims.
The pocket clip is always something that comes up. I'm one of three people on the planet who doesn't mind it. Yeah, it's different, but it woks quite well, once you loosen it up a bit.I especially like the length. A 2" or 3" pocket clip makes no sense to me.
Another thing people bring up is that Buck 110's and 112's aren't one-hand closing. that's not true for any folding knife, as any current or former Boy Scout will show you..

A nice comparison. I like both a lot. Being a lefty, it would have been a good mention that they both have reversible pocket clips…….also which opens easier one handed.

Good review. One EDC of mine is a Buck Vantage Small, 420hc, nice knife. Thanks. toronto canada

That's an interesting comparison. If you don't like the clip on the buck you can replace it with a clip that fits a PM2 from Pacificsonskniveson on Ebay. Would you consider being on the everyday city carry podcast?

Right, but when the knife costs $30, a $12 replacement pocket clip seems to make no sense to me. Those things should only be a dollar or two. It’s a supply/demand thing. They are very overpriced.

The Buck is riveted together - meaning no pivot adjustment possible. 🙁

You should have compared the Dozier with the 112..!! Horrible comparison..!! 👎

The Dozier is smalll enough to carry without the clip

The Buck wins just on being USA made alone. The Dozier being made overseas means it will only ever be a GOOD knife at best where the Buck is a GREAT knife

    • @KnowingisHalftheBattle
      @KnowingisHalftheBattle 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

That's just plain wrong. Both these knives are time tested and proven classics. The Dozier knife has been the goat of budget knives since 2003.

Two years too late, I know. But the Dozier is at least made in Taiwan. Gotta support the island against China.

Hilarious some "think" a Kephart blade shape is future forward "come a long way lol
Mid back locks are weaker and you have to shuffle your hand down, longer have a place for easy oiling and easier to disengage and close IF you reverse your grip for leverage and thumb access like common sense dictates.
To close - reverse knife so blade down and thumb on release - sweep closed across chest or leg.
Ugly is such BS the clip is short and stout and having an anvil graphic cut into steel is as metal as you can get

You forgot the most important . Made in USA with lifetime warranty.
Not going to get that from Chinese made ones .

The bucks lock gets better with age. They take a minute to break in. I believe buck uses 420hc not 440c anymore. But I'm completely with you about the aus8 and the dozier all together. I absolutely love that knife for what it is. Good video.
