My friend from high school actually got me into KH and KH2 was my first game into the series I knew next to nothing about Sora and knew more about Roxas A boy that was never meant to be, but still did everything to figure out who he was and who Sora is

Best Kingdom Hearts game. Emotionally intense and extremely fun gameplay. KH3 story feels silly and the gameplay is too much over the top. Fortunately ReMind kind off solves some storywise issues, but the best story and gameplay comes from KH2.5
I kind of have to disagree there. KH2 feels terrible pacing wise. The Disney worlds have almost no relevance to the overall plot (the 2nd visits offer what basically comes down to easter eggs of the main story) and mostly copy the movies verbatim. KH3 has some definite duds, but Toy Story, Monsters Inc., and Big Hero 6 have stories that actually relate to the main plot, and Pirates does a decent job of putting SDG in the story naturally. Also, I don’t see why having more combat capabilities is a negative. You play your own way. You’re not forced to use everything. I think you guys let the hype get to you.
@@neveroddoreven6597 i actually disagree with what you said. in my opinion, kh3 had awful pacing since almost all of the important plot points were pushed towards the end at the keyblade graveyard. not to mention they did a lot of the characters (such as axel/lea) dirty with the cringeworthy and boring script (imo). kh2 had a nice balance with radiant garden at the beginning, middle and near the end of the game (right before world that never was and twilight town). also, some of the disney worlds in kh2 had some plot relevance as well. for example, in some of the worlds, sora and the others gradually learned more and more about riku’s whereabouts and where he had been. same with their encounters with the organization members. this is my opinion of course, you’re allowed to disagree lol. also, not to mention, the reason why some people may not like kh3’s gameplay is because the combat was very floaty, and at times it was extremely easy (critical mode definitely helped with the difficulty though). also, the amount of difficult minigames that were in the game was absolutely ridiculous, such as the trinity sled escape in arendelle, the ship fights in the caribbean, and others. it’s okay to have a few minigames here and there, but i’m trying to get to the exciting gameplay, not all of this. the fact that some of the minigames were more difficult than they needed to be were extremely frustrating as well.

Vanitas’ heart is literally brought back because of the negative emotions in Monstropolis, Larxene/Marluxia reveal the Seven Hearts and the Orgs’ plan for them in Corona and Arendelle, and Young Xehanort/Data Riku finish the tests for the replicas with Toy Box and San Fran. And even outside of the events in the worlds, there are cutscenes of the Organization and Kairi/Lea when you finish them. The ending section is kind of long, but it is long in events that happen and not story exposition or world building. It was an eventful ending, sure, but that doesn’t mean it’s automatically bad. While the beginning, middle, and end of KH2 is really good (I can’t deny that), practically nothing happens outside of them. It’s mostly just the Disney movies for the first visit, and the second has CAMEOS of Org 13 and Riku that mean absolutely nothing for the plot. “Riku’s whereabouts” are not something the games actually care about exploring, hence why the only time he shows up outside of KH original worlds is a Mulan visit that adds nothing to the story, as all he does is warn the emperor that a Heartless is coming. All of that was fixed with KH3; you fall as fast as you should, and Sora’s stagger frames are short. It’s floaty in the sense that some battle mechanics literally make Sora float, I guess, but they don’t interrupt the flow like BBS. That was just a bandwagon everybody jumped on because “haha funny meme go brrr.” Your points on the difficulty are valid (system wise and personally), and I can also understand that the forced scenario mini games offer weak instructions and can lead to a cheap feeling death/game over. But other than that and personal story preferences, the game is well made. I very specifically dislike the people that hate the gameplay like they do: it is not unfinished, it is not unplayable, and it really isn’t that floaty. There are a lot of options, but that doesn’t mean it’s unfocused, it means you don’t want to make decisions. This is not directly targeted at you, rynj, I just wanted to mention that pet peeve of mine.
