as far as crochet being a dying art goes, i've noticed more people in my age group picking up these types of crafts. i for example learned basic crochet when i was in middle school, and as a 2 year anniversary/18th birthday gift i'm using this video to make a blanket for my boyfriend. we've always found more meaning in handmade gifts like scrap metal rings and bracelets, and with winter right around the corner it's nice to have something that will get a lot of love and use. your way of teaching is very easy to understand and you break down individual elements of the blanket that would be hard for me to understand just reading a pattern or blog post is so easy to navigate. keep up with the beautiful artwork :)
Oh my gosh you are fabulous! I'm new to crochet and I've been trying to make a dishcloth that is Buffalo plaid. But the pattern I'm using does not explain how to keep the opposite yarn coming along and hidden. I searched on TH-cam to see if anyone could explain it and I found your video. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this technique! It helped me so much! Also, your blanket is BEAUTIFUL! I hope to eventually work up to bigger projects once I get better at crochet. So, I'll definitely try this pattern in the future. Thank you for breaking things down so newbies like me can follow along!
Can I say I am in LOVE WITH ALL YOUR PATTERNS, I dont know which one to pick, YOU ARE AWESOME, QUEEN OF CROCHET. You are so patient and an AWESOME teacher, your daughter is so lucky in more ways than one, . THANK YOU SO. VERY MUCH!!!
Tiffany, I LOVE Buffalo Check and this blanket is gorgeous❣️❣️ (My plan for 2024 Christmas is to make an Afghan for each of my nine grandbabies, five of which are gentlemen, so this will be perfect for one of my fellas!) You say that you are still a beginner at TH-cam, however, you need to know that I really enjoy your videos. I am not a beginner, but no expert either so I appreciate the tips and tricks that you give. 😍
I never saw this video from three years ago. I love that you want a record of your art for future generations. But guess what, crochet is back with a vengeance! It was great to hear your thoughts than, and to be a part of your future as well. Especially with Covid and being home, alot of us either tried it fir the first time, ir or picked it back up; which was my case. It was like a time capsule. Thank you so much for your tutorials.
I really love the griddle stitch. It's so versatile. I've made cushons and scarves beanies and a small blanket for my dog. Today I've finished my biggest project, a jacket for myself. But not in a ckeckpattern but a houndstooth. It's beautiful and fits perfectly. Thank you very much for sharing this wonderfully adaptable stitch. Love from Amsterdam
I've used this yarn in the past and I really liked it. I haven't used it in a while but now that I'm watching this I'll have to get some more...I love this blanket.❤️
I am ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with gingham. I feel so blessed to have found your channel on Instagram and now the tutorials on TH-cam. Your blankets are GORGEOUS! Thanks so much!

Thank you! Great instructions and love how the video makes you feel like spending a day with a friend learning something new. Your blog/website has a ton of goodies as well. So glad I found you. Trying to teach my youngest son crochet like my grandmother taught me. Gma would have loved all the stitch/pattern tutorials. I remember clipping craft patterns from magazines as a child. Blessings to you and yours! *Hugs*
Congratulations to opening your TH-cam channel! Welcome to the TH-cam family. I look forward to seeing your tutorials. Best of luck to you. Martha from Covina, CA
Thus is absolutely beautiful! My youngest daughter is obsessed with buffalo plaid. Thank you for the tutorial (plus I purchased the pattern from your Etsy shop) and will be making her on of these blankets.
I absolutely love this!! Your instructions were very clear, and personally, I could see the yarn quite well despite the dark colors. The white background really helps! Thank you for doing this and you now have a new Subscriber! 😀
Thank you for your excellent instructions especially the video. Even though I have been crocheting many years, this is a new technique and it took me a while to grasp it. It “clicked” about the time I was ready to give up. After watching the tutorial I can see I wasn’t listening closely enough to your tips needed for doing this properly. In my enthusiasm and overconfidence I skipped the practice swatch and jumped right in to beginning the blanket at night when I was tired which made it harder. This morning I am having a good time with the process. Be gentle with yourselves if you are trying this for the first time everyone!
Just by chance I picked your tutorial, and so glad I did!! Your instructions are awesome and your pattern is beautiful. I'm so excited to see more videos and check out your website. Thank you so much

Thank you for the tutorial!!!! Beautiful work and you make it so easy to understand. I can't wait to try this pattern and change the colors keeping my yarn going with me as I crochet.
At the end of the first row with burgundy & black do you cut the black leaving about a 9 inch length to weave if once you finish the burgundy? And then add in the red after the first 10 burgundy on the next row (like the first row of red & burgundy)
I love this blanket can you tell me how many chains I would need for a baby blanket like this one I have a great grandson comeing in February and my granddaughter whats this kind of blanket
Merci beaucoup pour ce tuto. Peut-on faire le plaid en plusieurs carrés et les assemblés ensemble pour faire une couverture adulte ? Merci de votre réponse virginie
Hello 😃 I always enjoy watching your TH-cam One question for you, please tell us about the copyright and sale of the work you made by watching your video.
Hi im new to your Chanel and very happy to find you . I want to know if I want to make a larger blanket how many chains I need to do to begin and finish with the same color ? Thank you so much for sharing .
+mary barrios - Each block of color is eight stitches across. To end on the same color, you are going to want to have an odd number of blocks. Once you figure out how big you are going to make the blanket, don't forget to make one more chain to get the height necessary for the first stitch. Hope that helps.
Love buffalo check and your boarder is awesome.
I really love your videos, you are such a calming, lovely lady that does an excellent job with your tutorial
Love the foundation’s chains. Thank you for showing and teaching us….
Thank you for teaching all of your hard work ❤❤

Can you make bigger squares of the plaid’s in the blanket
Hi im new to your Chanel and very happy to find you .

I'm goin to make this in Red Heart Supersaver with 774 yards in each skein. Do you know how many of these I would need of each color?
Beautiful! My mom loves the buffalo plaid so I'd like to attempt a throw blanket for her. What is the weight of the yarn you used? Thank you so much!!
@Leslie Fields
The yarn that she is using, Patons Canadiana yarn, is a #4 worsted weight.
@@Wistfu1Stargazer thank you! 😊
@@lesliefields5159 - you're welcome.
What is the chain count/repeat for a larger project.
Just crochet 30 over and over until you get the size you want. Plus one for a regular chain.
Thank you❤
Any strategies to keep the colors from showing through? Maybe my main colors are too dark (black and gray) and white.
Beautiful 💕
You mentioned a Pendleton stripe project a couple of times but I can't find a video or pattern for it. Am I just missing it somewhere?
How much of each color am I purchasing? And whats the measurement going to be?
How many skeins of each color did you use
How much yarn? What size hook?
How easy is this for a beginner ?
😍😍😍
👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️
