You're in California? Learn something new every day! I wasn't lying in the title of this one! What are the laws over there? Is the tenant responsible for cleaning the dryer vent or is it on the actual homeowner?
@@HighSierraBob Gotcha! I just wonder who cares more about the property... I've been paid by both as well but hmmmm..... The "law" varies here in NC but I think it has more to do with the signed lease vs actual law.
@advsLLC a lot of landlords don't care about the property as long as they get a rent check. I did a job for a neighbor and discovered the gas supply valve was leaking that feeds gas to the dryer. I told him to call the gas company to get it replaced and he told me he had to call the landlord to have them arrange it. As far as I'm aware, nothing ever happened.
@@HighSierraBob Makes no sense! Why would the homeowner not complete maintenance that'll keep those rent checks coming in? Not to mention, if something were to happen to a tenant due to lack of periodic checks and maintenance, they'll lose way more than a simple rent check...... CRAZINESS my friend!
It’s definitely not normal! When you dry a load of clothes, you’re pushing a gallon to 1.5 gallons through the vent via steam… When there’s a blockage that bad, all that water remains in the duct as steam, when it gets far enough away from the heating source, turns back into liquid water EVERY TIME… I wasn’t lying when I said this isn’t clickbait!!! Thx for watching as well as your comment!!!!
WOW! I knew it was bad when I walked around and saw the exterior damper! Definitely the worst I've seen in years! Hopefully folks are paying attention to this!
I didn’t understand why there was water in the vent line. I thought maybe there was a leaking water pipe dripping on top of the vent. Not until I ready your comments explaining there was a clog in the vent and the moisture couldn’t get out making the moisture build up. Thanks for explaining!
Honestly, I have no idea... Definitely more than five years! Huge point here... If you are renting a home from a company or an individual, people should DEMAND their landlord to keep up the maintenance on the dwelling! Tenants have to demand certain issues be addressed immediately!!!
New subscriber from Canada 🇨🇦 O M G are you sure the dryer vent isn't attached to the stream ,because l have NEVER seen any dryer vent so wet and descusting ,l think they need to install all new and clean dryer vents 😮
Years and years of zero maintenance! This was a rental home managed by a property management company... If you or someone you know rents their home, it's EXTREMELY important to stay on the PM company to clean the dryer vent! Very dangerous!
It wasn’t… That, as well as a second dryer BOTH finally blew the heating element and the tenant had no idea the vent was the problem… I appreciate you watching!!!
I hope you charged them a FORTUNE $$$ to clean that disgusting dump of a vent out!! That swamp-filled vent! There’s no way that they didn’t know there was something wrong WAAAAAY before they called you out!!
I have some different names for it as well..... While this definitely isn't the norm, it does happen and most homeowners/tenants have no clue it's the vent and NOT the dryer! WOW!
The air from your wet clothes in the dryer is moist , if your tube is clogged or not getting good air flow, water can build up. I have one of those flexible tubes, I found it twisted up behind my dryer with water in it.
As to what I can see to this mess is that the dryer vent was installed wrong. This means the entire venting system needs to be replaced and done by an actual professional and not someone who has never done a dryer vent installation or else this will keep happening no mater how many times it is cleaned out.
To me, not being a professional or anything, this looks less like a moisture build up and more like, at some point, that stream flooded and it ended up going into the house. Then they cleaned that mess up, but not the duct work for the dryer. But like I said, I'm just some guy on the internet.
wow well if thats the worst it gets i can hang lol ever found any thing dead? def wear a good mask particulates filters would be better like what painters wear im a painter looking into getting into this trade im old now lol
That was a house colonoscopy 😂
Bro.......😮
Yea, this one was gangster!
Is there a procedure for telling the customer that their dryer vent needs more fiber in their diet? And possibly an exorcism?
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! No kidding!!!
🤣😂😅🤣
I was waiting for the slime monster from Ghost Busters to pop out 😂
DAMN!! I have removed some wet clogs, but this one takes the grand prize! In Southern California, I'm charging $300 to service that disaster.

@@advsLLC yep, I'm in Orange County. I don't think there is any law governing who pays. I have been paid for jobs by tennants in the past.

What would cause this to happen? I know dryer lint is normal, but all that water/sludge? Isn't there any kind of one way valve on there?

I didn't know that dryer vents could have diaghorria cause that is what it looked like
WOW! I knew it was bad when I walked around and saw the exterior damper! Definitely the worst I've seen in years! Hopefully folks are paying attention to this!
@advsLLC yes, even dryers need an occasional colonoscopy.
Is there a belly or low point in the duct that's allowing water to collect when it's getting blocked?
Nope.... It was so clogged, the water backup was that bad behind the clog... It was actually a very well built vent even after this!
Now I might not be a professional, but I'm pretty sure dryer vents shouldn't have goop in them.
HAHAHAHA! Your assumption is correct, LOL!
Good job !
Thx Mike!
Looked like you were cleaning out a sewer line! Yikes!
Any chance the creek flooded and the water went up into the vent?
I don't believe due to the stain on the brick under the exterior damper. That was just a filthy dryer vent, lol... Thanks for watching!
I didn’t understand why there was water in the vent line.

Yea, I get that question quite a bit! This one was absolutely horrendous!!! Thx for watching!!!
What is really scary if the lint and nesting is damp, it’s a combustion waiting.
That was crazy. How long would it take for this much moisture to build up.
?

YUCK! Awesome video!
Thanks!
What the ever-lovin’ heck?!
LOL! They don't get much worse!
Man, I've seen toilet and kitchen drains unclogged with less shit than that pipe.
😮😂
I'll say it was definitely the worst I've seen in past five years! Insane! I appreciate you watching and for commenting!
Can't believe all that junk in there and dryer was working 😮

Are you sure that was a dryer vent and not a septic tank line?
Just found your channel and subscribed.
That's just plain nasty!
AGREED!!!
Someone finally successfully connected the toilet to the dryer vent.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Definitely appears that way!
I think they needed to call a plumber for that clean out. Geez.
LOL, that house needs A LOT!!! Thx for watching!
That wasn’t a vent cleaning, that was an enema 😮
I have some different names for it as well..... While this definitely isn't the norm, it does happen and most homeowners/tenants have no clue it's the vent and NOT the dryer! WOW!

Awesomeness!
Why is it so wet?
What in the world? How is water getting in there?😮😮

There's water leaking into that vent. It's not going to be usable, I don't think.
As to what I can see to this mess is that the dryer vent was installed wrong. Makes me want to puke. Great job bud
Yucky yucky my friend!!!
Look on the bright side... lint dust wasn't airborne
HA! You have a strong point there, LOL!

I could smell this video 🤢
You too? HAHA!
What tha???
Looks like someone put a garden hose in the dryer pipe
NO KIDDING!!!
Yikes! I'd have been wearing gloves, a hazmat suit and an air supply respirator. 🤢🤮🤮
How in the heck????
Idiots wonder why takes long to dry. It's because your washing everything on PERM PRESS
PERM PRESS only has slow spin. STOP DOING THAT PEOPLE

I don't think the washer is spinning out properly or is being overloaded to have that much water in the clothes. Something is hinky with that system.
That's disgusting
How did you not throw up?!
Looks more like a sewer line! yuk
Definitely the worst I've seen and I've been doing this for almost 20 years.... CRAZY!
Holy cow. You needed a hazmat suit for that job. 🤢
This looks more like a drain cleaning video than a dryer vent one. Yuck!
What tha......
