I originally got this truck as a wrecked and gutted shell back in the late 90's. Its had a long history since then, but now I'm doing a refresh on it to make it more useful and nicer to drive.
Yeah, I've been putting off working on the truck, its just works good enough. I do have a pile of parts to install sitting in the garage waiting for it, I should get to that this winter.
I was not on board with this (aesthetically), until I saw the ends result up close. The utility is cool and for some reason looks better up close. However, I think if I lived in the desert, I would have to start with fixing the A/C.
I agree, not the most eye appeal, but it sure is useful. Also, I can still put on stuff meant for a regular bed, like a camper. The A/C is coming up, but I had to wait to line up a few more mechanical things so I can do them all at once.
I fixed up a silver rolled over pickup, its still my favorite rig, and as far as the primer goes, it gets a can every year weather it needs it or not, and it is close enough that in 8 years, I still haven't painted it
Lol when using the lap style press area and a nail gun ( actually a stapler putting carpet bunk boards for a boat trailer ) be careful you leg is not in the way. Lol you get my drift
I didn't think anybody could ever make one of those Dodge trucks any uglier, congrats!, your right that it don't look "half-bad", it looks 100% bad, lol, but it is much stronger, and is way more useful I'm sure, some nicer rims-n-tires should make all the difference, 😉
Funny, I've seen those 'borrowed' Cummins swapped into a bunch of stuff, afterwards the stuff works better. Weird thing though, haven't seen very many GM 6.2 swaps maybe you could do a video, or a GM 6.5 swap into something. Might be a bit of a search to find one they seem to be scarce! Ah well, show us a Duramax swap that would be good. Hope you got some deep pockets they can be pricey. Hmmm a flat out reliable, cheap, and long running diesel engine. Yeah those Dodge Boys really made a bone head play when they put millions and millions of Cummins in their vehicles.
Your channel is underrated. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Thanks, I'm glad you like it!
6:40 "Precision bodywork" made my day.
That is straight from the Jeremy Clarkson School of Engineering.
That reskin on the bed came out really sweet. Might have to do that on my C10.
Great mechanical entertainment!!! One of the best channels on TH-cam!!
That truck is 🔥 a year later still waiting for an update on the truck

Reminds me of my first truck, old ‘83 D250.
One day I’ll find another.
I wish i can get my hands on a d250 or a 1991 f250 for my first truck
The look on the kid's face
"😯 It was hollow?!?!"
“When using this lap style drill press make sure it’s not over your leg” 😂😂😂😂😂
Your channel is great!
Nice job! 🙂👍 I really like how you customized the bed. You can't beat an old 5.9 🔧🔩
Thanks! I really like the old 6bt's, especially the ones made before the intercooler models.
WOW, that came out great ! ENJOYED..
Thanks, I'm glad you like it!
I think it would look great as a flatbed.
I seriously considered that, but on a flatbed you have to tie everything down really well. Its a lot easier to load if you still have sides.
So much to love on this! Especially the little helper!!
Thanks! She's always supportive of cutting cars apart, especially when they go back together...
Your inspector is your pride and joy. 🎉❤
Impressive rock auto magnet collection my friend! I've got a rock auto magnet covered fridge!

All I have to say is ouch! Gotta hate learning things the hard way...
Luv how you think outside the box and on the run. :)
That is an awesome bed

I grew up in a junkyard too
Great job. Are you an engineer of just a genius?
You'd think that usable pickup bed would be a factory option.
😁😁👍👍
What did ya paint it with

I find it looks best with a load of junk and project parts in the bed!
Dodge copied so much from g.m. Just G.M. didn't have to borrow a diesel.
No but they should have.
