Even though it says it’s in “2wd” Toyota has an auto 4x4 setup that acts almost like all time AWD. Almost all Toyotas that are “4WD” need to be dollied!
When I first started my tow company, I took any and all work with the exception of repossession work. If someone shoots at me, I'm shooting back, and it isn't worth the hassle. The second year in business, I dumped the auto clubs, as the only work I got from them was very late night, rainy nights, or cold weather hot shots, that their preferred companies didn't want to respond to for $14 (the price at the time). Plus it's difficult to keep drivers that earn 50% of the call for night time work. We didn't have rotations, but instead were assigned an area based on your yard location. The Police tow division would evaluate response times yearly and decide if another company was needed. Dealerships, and large tire-stores were the bread and butter work, but heavily discounted. You own a business and are successful so i would say keep doing you and and let people on the road know to MTFO when you see any tow truck on the side of the road
Hey Man, I think you did a great job. Should think about adding taking photos before towing each vehicle. It will save you big down the road. Photos for people who report damage after a tow is going off right now due to lack of income and more protection is great. A photo can easily prove you didnt do the damage. Pick up and drop off done and done.
you may not do 90% of what the other companies do, but you will do the 10% that they dont...... like you said you do the off road stuff, heck even Matt wont send a roll back down a dirt road (well 99% of the time, there is a few exceptions..... lol)
There is a clear difference between stupidity and taking on work that others don't want/can't do, As for the dirt road, I will go down any respectable dirt road no problem, Muddy bullshit, soft dirt or grass, etc absolutely not it's just utter stupidity for me to even think of bringing my 150k truck off on soft material that I know it's going to sink in, You have to have specialized equipment for specialized tasks, I have a specialized recovery truck for working from solid ground, I don't have a skid steer with a winch box, I don't have a 4wd mud truck with a winch, so offroad would be stupid for me to do, That is where guys like matt or casey come in, If that's the avenue they want to venture down and they have the equipment they are comfortable bringing in those environments then they can take that work that myself and many others won't do and aren't equipped to do.
@@towtruckaj Matt has several other wreckers rollbacks and employees that do the bulk of his business it's just not interesting content for his show he's even got roadside assistance vans for jumps lockouts fuel and such Windsor towing has a pretty good fleet
@@davidwoermansr fraud comes in all shapes and sizes, like I said I’m not accusing him of fraud, that’s already been done I’m just saying his business and fleet from face value alone doesn’t act as a defense against the claims, at the end of the day the burden of proof is on the accuser whoever is making the accusations has to prove the claim otherwise he’s innocent in the eyes of the law. However I have witnessed fraud occur in rather successful looking businesses with similar fleets and so I won’t rule it out as a possibility.
@@towtruckaj I wasn't accusing anyone of fraud so many people compare Matt and Casey and don't realize how big Matt's company really is all they know about is the off-road stuff when Matt himself has said it's less than 10 percent of his company's income if you look on his vehicles they are Windsor towing but he named his channel to where it would grab off road fanatics attention no fraud there he's 1 of the best people I've ever met I don't think he's capable of fraud
So Wise , Thank You . Doing what Works for you is What I watch . In my opinion why hurt you're self when you don't have to ,and as long as the cashflow works , and you and family are happy . Who cares what the trolls think
Stay in your niche market. Where you live, the OSP rotation and other accident work can be real disturbing due the various conditions and bizarre accidents that occur. Hwy 97 is not known for many “minor” accidents.
You do you if someone else has a problem with that that's their problem not yours be safe have fun and enjoy your work and remember if you like what you do it's not work
Casey you could have made that a challenge you could have parked the truck the other direction ,, lol .. what you do by yourself for towing is good if you did what the other bigger company's do then you need another truck and driver or 2 more with calls coming in at any hour day and night .. you forget what sleep is ..then your busy with upkeep on tow rigs ,, never no free time .. so the way you are doing it in my thought is great .. it works for you .. thumbs up on the video ..
Sounds like you have things figured out. Absolutely nothing wrong with staying within a niche market. I know a number of people with the same business strategy who are very successful.
He was getting a dig in on all the guys working for a tow company that said if he was scared to get cars along the highway because people are stupid and don't slow down and move over and almost hit you that he wasn't fit for towing and should find other work
I watch your videos all the time they're not only entertaining but they're very educational and you're just like a you got your s*** going on that's a so yep I like watching your videos if I ever get stuck over than that area out in the wilderness I will call you
Have you made an actual video on dolly's themselves because because I guess I'm old school pick up one end put things together and put it down on the dollys
Lol.. try no keys, no wheels onto to a flat deck trailer.. never mind a roll back :P But then again most of those are going for scrap so if you dent them no biggie.
@@keeptrukin420 I almost never dent them just cause there's no need to. But use a combination of floor jack/jack-all, lift the front end up put the frame on jack stands back the trailer under it, drop the a-arms/rotors(what ever hangs lower) onto skids, jack the read end, jack stand as far back as possible, winch the trailer under the vehicle, then drop the rear onto the trailer. If it's got a smooth belly or decent frame rails to slide on without getting hung up and it's literally going for scrap I might not lift the rear and just drag it up.
if front wheels are not centered 100% it will pull and fight you, then there is another reason why your correct on dolleys for old school reason!!!!!!!!!!!!! older cars, like I pulled in old days, they had worn out steering boxes, you rope the steering wheel, yes pre-steering lock vehicles, I own several still, then pick up by rear, then vehicle goes to the left several feet into other lane, then it comes back maybe wiping out mail boxes, yeah guy drove them with totally wonn out steering & was always shuffling steering wheel to maintain straight path, so thats why I believe in the dolley method... I posted to another of your videos today, but I dont like the normal tow truck or roll back scene either, thats why I quit in mid 90's, but back then no towing license was required, I liked the wrecks, being on call, I like manual PTO chain drive winches, split booms to anchor truck if need to, if using wheel lift, I liked the cable lifted one from winch cable. blocking under car to use tow belt. I am a dinosaur from bygone era
I had a friend that started a towing company and ended up doing almost nothing but high-end car dealership transfers. If you can find a niche and make yourself the go-to guy then you will be better off than the guy who runs himself ragged trying to do it all.

I think you did a great job. Should think about adding taking photos before towing each vehicle. It will save you big down the road. Photos for people who report damage after a tow is going off right now due to lack of income and more protection is great. A photo can easily prove you didnt do the damage. Pick up and drop off done and done.
He usually does
you may not do 90% of what the other companies do, but you will do the 10% that they dont...... like you said you do the off road stuff, heck even Matt wont send a roll back down a dirt road (well 99% of the time, there is a few exceptions.....
I’m a general contractor but I stick to my niche too. It’s better for everyone involved.
You own your company. You have a right to turn down any jobs that you please.
Did you say that you used to lowbed around Northern Cal? I have lowbeded out of Red Bluff 199? until 2012.
Yes, I was over in Mendocino county
@@CaseyLaDelle I drove for Cumptons for 38 years, time to quit bouncing down the road. it is a pleasure to watch a man who is good at his job.
Very nice I like that setup. Considering I have kids that will be of driving age soon that is the way to go. Great job.
You do you if someone else has a problem with that that's their problem not yours be safe have fun and enjoy your work and remember if you like what you do it's not work
You should try to tow a DEAN SMITH. That is the heaviest load you can ever pull
Well said and smart. Cheers.
Where kind of tow dolly kit is that?
No, but I should probably do that
You made a new fan. I wish guys did like you do
Dude loading cars w no keys on a flatbed can b such a pain in the ass sometimes. Unless it’s an impound lol
Lol.. try no keys, no wheels onto to a flat deck trailer.. never mind a roll back :P But then again most of those are going for scrap so if you dent them no biggie.
@@gold5th how tf u even get it on there? I mainly run auto club in and upscale area of San Diego so I can’t dent a damn thing lol
Good deal, stay true to your self, thanks.
What kind of "work" will they be performing without the keys?
Tow spec says no front wheels on the ground. But Leaving the steering wheel unsecured?
TowSpec doesn't know how to tow cars.
@@CaseyLaDelle they say exactly what you are doing. You have the front wheels on a dolly not the ground?
Whats the law in Oregon with securing the steering wheel?
@@nathanrotar5012 there is no law regarding anything even close to that
So what do you do if the steering wheel turns while towing?
i was ready to type off an essay of satan at you for not using a flat bad but the dolleys saved you.
Not like the others is why I watch you. And your in Oregon.
Efficiency bothers a lot of people, some are impressed with speed only. Stay in your niche, quality over quantity...
if front wheels are not centered 100% it will pull and fight you, then there is another reason why your correct on dolleys for old school reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!
older cars, like I pulled in old days, they had worn out steering boxes, you rope the steering wheel, yes pre-steering lock vehicles, I own several still, then pick up by rear, then vehicle goes to the left several feet into other lane, then it comes back maybe wiping out mail boxes, yeah guy drove them with totally wonn out steering & was always shuffling steering wheel to maintain straight path, so thats why I believe in the dolley method...
GREAT BUSINESS STRUCTURE... 😎💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
Sounds like to me you are a good tow truck company that does his own thing! That was the same way I ran my business several years ago!
What license need for this tow trucks
Ain't it amazing how many folks want to tell you, how to run your business.
And most of them never worked for themselves they've always had a boss telling them what tow to do maybe they just want to be a boss
You don’t have to be the biggest, but, you can be the bestest.
Awesome, you need to make some off road recovery videos!
I make a bunch of them
@@CaseyLaDelle my bad, I just didn't look hard enough.
Enjoy all the recovering out in the desert 🏜,,Used to live in LA Pine, the forest service roads still look familiar,
Hey Casey, you could get pulled over for improper display of your license plate. For having it hanging in your back glass.
That's the designated spot for tow trucks since anything in a normal spot would be blocked whenever you have a car hooked up.
