    Kia ora koutou! The Atlas guitar support from Sagework can seem intimidating to install but the truth is it may take you around 10 - 20 minutes to do this and that includes removing or loosening your strings. Enjoy and be sure to watch my review of this amazing support that caused me to throw my foot stool away (figuratively speaking). Let your fingers fly!

    I have more than one guitar and of course one only needs one support for all.However do need to buy more magnets.I am pleased to say that to organise another guitar to accept the support (loosening strings,positioning magnets etc)only took 20 minutes.My support is now readily transferred from one guitar to another.A great product and thank you Josh for your video.

      That's awesome. 20 minutes - great job. I think it took me quite a bit longer than that to do mine. Are you enjoying using the support? I wouldn't be without mine anymore.

    I have been using the ErgoPlay support for years. He suits me. This magnet idea is interesting. But there are a few things to note.
    1. Installing a magnet in the body of the instrument can cause overtones and change in tone. But many people already install boxes from the pickup.
    2. Humidity fluctuations can cause magnets to peel off, as they write about here. If you have a guitar with a matte finish or French lacquer this is a godsend.
    Thanks for the review.

    • @nbnguitar
      @nbnguitar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for sharing your insights Victor. I can say I've been using mine for years and I've never had an issue. If the magnets do affect the tone, I haven't noticed it.

    Thanks for this Josh, this looks really good. I have tried many suction cup type supports, after a while during playing they just fall off, so irritating I gave up with them and went back to the foot stool.

    I just got mine yesterday and installed it using this method.
    I'll use it for a while before giving some kind of definitive review.
    First glance though it seems pretty decent and safe. However unlike an ergoplay which has a soft foam pad where it touches your leg, this one is far firmer and is uncomfortable in shorts or thin silky fabric. By uncomfortable I mean it cuts into your leg a bit. This problem could be solved by installing an aftermarket foam trim on the bottom and I might still do this.
    But I typically play in jeans anyways, if I'm seriously practicing just to avoid slip, and in jeans it's fine and doesn't feel like it's cutting into the leg.

    • @nbnguitar
      @nbnguitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice. I hope it works out for you and the foam trim is a good idea because the original is is quite firm. I wouldn't be without mine anymore :)

      @@nbnguitar Yeah I need some realistic play time. Since installing it yesterday and changing strings I haven't had a chance to have a good play sessions.

    great demo, thanks. The Ergo play is already a great deal, and cheapper, but sometimes (every 2 , 3 o 4 songs maybe in my case..) one of the sucker(few months of use) goes out, and if you're recording , you can hear it.. I think i'll go for the sagework, it seems to me to be the best option on the market , if you accept the higher price, and you still have to pay a bit more for your second guitare.

    • @nbnguitar
      @nbnguitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are welcome Felipe. I haven't tried the Ergo, but from feedback I've received from other players it seems that the Sagework is the best out there.

    I like a support to be at the rear end of the guitar, so I can place the guitar on the right leg, I suspect that this support wouldn’t allow me to do that because of the installation would be to difficult ?
    Ironic that the majority of guitarists play of the the right leg (only classical play of the left) and the many of the the high profile supports don’t allow for that, the ergo play doesn’t go low enough. Great video though very informative, seems to be the best support on the market to play in that way.

    If you have a pacemaker or ICD (implanted cardioverter defibrillator), you should be very careful about using this guitar support. In fact, the magnets may cause a malfunction of the pacemaker or ICD, putting your life in danger.

  • @jelink22
    @jelink22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I watched this video right up until you tore off that red strip to put the adhesive on the magnet---and then raced off to do the installation. I figured I had all the info I needed.
    I installed the magnets and supports OK, but wondered...what is holding the magnets to the guitar? Mutter, mutter to myself.....So I re-checked the printed instructions and saw a reference to the "black covering of the adhesive strip", and realized I was too dumb to understand that referred to the black/white covering of a double-sided adhesive strip.
    Then I watched the video again, and...this time...I saw that you jumped from taking the red strip off to directly installing the magnet WITHOUT showing you taking off the black/white strip beforehand! But had I watched the entire vid I would have seen that you did show removing the second b/w strip before installing the second magnet.
    So damn my impatience for not watching the whole thing in the first place. DERP!
    Making idiot-proof instructions is not as easy as it seems, sez I, the idiot.
    (I later realized that some picture hanging fixtures use the same adhesive, to allow their removal without taking off the wall paint and drywall beneath).
    Finally: it's a great product. Supports with suction cups ---at least for me--just sucked.

    That's a good idea but too much of a hassle. One should remove strings each time an adjustments is needed.

    • @nbnguitar
      @nbnguitar  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As long as you set the magnets in the right place initially you shouldn't need to move them around because the support itself has several different place where it can be adjusted. Also, you don't have to completely remove the strings if you don't want to. One can simply loosen them to provide enough hand space.

    • @nbnguitar
      @nbnguitar  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It comes in 3 sizes? Wow I had no idea! Things must've deepened their product line since I made this review. If it were me I'd contact Sagework directly and give them the make & model of your guitar. By doing so they may be able to determine the best choice for your guitar.

    • @felipe-jz9zm
      @felipe-jz9zm 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      2years after, but i answer for other people, it comes minimum in two sizes, 'short' and 'tall', and they sell also separately the only part that make the difference between the two.
      So you can switch (but that part costs around 30e). And you have to try one to know which one is ok for you, but most of the time, the size of the guitarist should be the answer. The official website 'sagework' maybe give that answer.
