so glad you did this, video my husband lived in utah and he says all the time Utah is great and he would remind me that black people only make up 15% of the country and 75% are on the southeast ,he says it would be great to raise a family there
Utah was fun. I'm glad we went to see for ourselves. I understand that we were only there for an extended weekend but I felt more comfortable there than I do in the south.
I love seeing us travel and going on less typical adventures! I’ll have to stop making fun of my roommate for wanting to go to Salt Lake City now 😂 Great video!
I’m so happy to see this. Just added Utah to my travel list. I understand people thinking that places aren’t “for us” because of how we can be treated in these spaces. But I think when you travel with a good group, you can make it a great trip and if nothing more try new things. 🙂
I totally agree. I understand why minorities would think certain places wouldn't be for us, but we have to also see for ourselves. I was actually by the amount of minorities we encountered in Park City and Salt Lake City. We definitely had fun!
Agree agree 100%! It is for "us" as well as it is for "them". "We" need to stop that thought divide and broaden our own personal horizons. I want to go Utah...it looks amazing. Thank you for sharing. You are fantastic!
Thank you so much for this video compilation and all the optimistic point of views. I'm moving to Utah and I needed the positive reinforcement. I've lived in NYC my entire life and I need to SSLLLOOOOWWWW DOWN...no more hustle and bustle, I AM COMPLETELY BURNT OUT.
@@MealsandMiles01 I’m originally from New Mexico but live most of my life in Texas. I like going to The Southwest it has beautiful scenery but I can’t wait to go to Arches and Canyonlands
I really enjoyed this vlog. And I agree with your last commentary. We need to learn how to explore our homeland and stop being so fearful/insecure about the unknown. Just because it’s unconventional doesn’t mean I can’t seek and enjoy. I def want to go to Utah to view it’s natural beauty! We are the original nomads and it’s refreshing to see black folk get back to this!
OMG, thank you so much for this comment. Having this conversation is so helpful to the movement of getting minorities to travel. Utah was on my radar for a long time, but no one really wanted to go. I'm so glad we went because it was absolutely beautiful. The people we encountered were helpful and friendly. Going back to a different part of Utah next year.
I dont mean to be so off topic but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot the account password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
@Frank Major I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Beautiful! I found you through your providence Video! Trying to find a city that I could move to in 2023 after i get my RN license, and Portland recently got my radar. 25, single, child free, 🏳️🌈 , and just looking for a city where I (a chicana (from small town Kansas))won’t stick out like a sore thumb but has BEAUTIFUL but affordable view, water features most important, east or west coast or anything in between! Funnily enough, Salt Lake City was my first choice up until a month ago, keeping my options open. I got some time to decide, but planning on doing a deep dive on cost, pay, basically COL this winter, and plan on visiting top choices over the summer.love your perspective of trying something that doesn’t seem like is “for” us. Open to any recs or hearing your favorites! I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for your next videos!
Thank you so much for watching. I truly appreciate it. Definitely keep your options open. I've lived in Nashville, Savannah, Dallas, and now Maryland. All were different, but offered an array of things and experiences. I pray you find a great place.
I havent never been to Utah.. this is even my first time hearing of this place..but I must say...its quite beautiful..I love the water..you guys really had so much fun
I think it's AWESOME! y'all went to Utah lol... just because nothing's there lol Now I wanna go to Utah, the ATVs look fun! & tubing... This looks like an amazing trip.
I shoulda watched this video first but I was trying to be open minded lol. 😂 I’m so happy to see black women going somewhere other than Dubai or the Islands! Yes it’s beautiful but there’s other things to do instead of being on the beach taking selfies all day. Plus, if you really want an experience, those places are crazy expensive and often once in a lifetime trips. I wana go somewhere that I can go back to if I like it that much! Utah has always been on my list of places to go, including Colorado, Albuquerque, Oregon, etc, there’s so much to see right in our home country! Now I have some places I can specifically look up when doing Utah. Thanks for this vid I hope you make more for your other “out of the ordinary” trips! EVERYWHERE is for black ppl!
The way I laughed out loud. I'm definitely over the selfies and twerking on the beach 🤣. I'm open to all types of travel and location. I'm glad you watched and enjoyed it.

Thank you for sharing this different view. I am a single mother, Portuguese native. I would like to do an English immersion with my youngest son and I had thought about Utah. I asked in some facebook groups what life is like for a black woman in Utah, everyone was unanimous in saying that it was a very racist place and would not be good for me and my son. After these comments I stopped the process. I could stay for 6 months in a racist place, but I don't want to expose my son to racist acts, especially at school. Could you give me your honest opinion on this? Is racism so strong in Utah that it could traumatize my child? thank you
Being a person who grew up in Tennessee, the racism wasn't as noticeable to me. I'm so used to in your face racism that I hardly pay attention to anything else. I can honestly say I did not see any "black" families there. Not to say that they're not there, but I personally didn't see them. I personally don't think it will be traumatizing, but I can't say that it won't either.
