So many rice burners really need to watch this video my friend. Myself I believe next to excessive speed the next biggest injury to riders is their over inflated ego and false sense of security in their riding gear. Great vlog, well explained- awesome
I started (road) motorcycling earlier this year at 44. When I did my learner's course, they drummed into me: start wide, and plan to finish tight. That way I can see hazards much earlier and just ride around it.
Brilliant Vid! I'm looking forward to trying this out on my next ride. I've suffered a bit from target fixation in the past, but learning to look through the corner now and not focusing on the dangers.
Hey Aymen great vid mate, great advice. It's absolutely scary watching some of the riding out there these days, I don't think they teach motorcycle etiquette anymore. Many times I see riders who look like they've been riding for years in a straight line but then the brutal reality hits when you get to corners and see how there's no idea. It's scary how lucky some people are to get out of corners you showed entering too soon and leaving nowhere to go to exit..... Good vid mate. 👌 👊😎👊
Great video, good advice to practice. A lot of us (me included) don't think about it, but riding is like any skill, practice may not make perfect, but it does make better 🤘
Nice video. My favorite subject. Pithy slogans: Go Deep, Turn Hard. Early Apex, Run Wide at the Exit. Late Apex Decreasing Radius Turns. Two more things you can do on decreasing radius turns. Slow down through the turn (and turn tighter). Progressively lean through the turn. If you went to full lean at the beginning, you would run off the inside of the turn. You can do all three: Late apex, slow down and progressively lean more. Careful about following faster riders. They know what they are doing and you don't. Happy riding!
Yes, certainly feeling a bit rusty with corning currently with now getting through winter. So love the twisties though. Great practical advice Aymen. We have some great courses over here in NZ that teach these very points. I need to do there track day, that would be fun. Plus the learning I'd get out of it, would be fantastic. Keep up the great work. Loving the vids.
My goal is to master Arthurs Seat safely and with convidence, especially because i live on the bottom of it!. One day i will get there. Your videos help a lot and i will continue to practice practice and more. practicing until i get there
Hey, Aymen 👋🏽 Cool vlog.Riding a sports bike makes conering fun, and counter steering is what I do 99% of the time. And you're right, speed , angle, apex and counter steering are what it's all about. I consider suggested speed before the corner and decide between the sign , debris, road surface, and corner, how fast I'll be taking it. Ride safe or not,🤔 Annie...✌🏽👋🏽😎 OND...☠️

I am by no means an expert rider, but I find focusing on the exit of a corner makes it all fall Into place. I have run wide a couple of times which were very good lessons.
Key word…yes…start later… but you need to bloody get on the counter steering … push or pull… when I first learned counter turning I pushed… But after years of it I learned to push or PULL… depending on the corner and bike your riding… I am a canyon RIPPER these days…!!
took a hit in the ditch on the gravel this arvo because I took the dr for a bit of an angry strap after a 3 week hiatus and wasn't in my right frame of mind... few bruises, first off too..
@@OldNotDead-Club Cheers Aemon, bit of bruising on the leg - best outcome for today's lapse in mind though... might start wearing my knee braces, I'm sure my knee would be less of victim had I lol. Great vid as always brother
@@OldNotDead-Club Great vid. Could be, if you haven't done already, you may have spoken of it, a vid about riding cranky, or not in a good frame of mind.🍻

Cheers, Tones 😊 🙏🤟🤙🇦🇺👍🏽🍻🍻🍻
So just out of interest I find it harder going down hill as opposed to uphill .... is it just me ? I live on the west coast of Tassie and its a lot of corners all over. Mt Black being a real B.... just saying.
Bugger , I was stepping up from a DRZ400 to a Yamaha T700 ,now after finding your channel looks like I have a dilemma now, maybe a second hand, HD is on the cards
I can understand the logic in what you’re saying but what happens in group rides, does everyone know to revert back to single lane riding or how do you avoid someone who’s got there own ideas of cornering. Hate to get side swiped by someone in the pack. Your thoughts appreciated!
And then there's the guy coming the other way around the corner with bigger balls than skill (or brains) on the wrong side of the road - and not just bike riders but dingbats going too fast when towing heavy boats or caravans. I'm sure we've all seen those. Great advice, BTW.
They teach counter steering because they know they can't teach people to ride the speed limit. Riding the speed limit is more important than learning to counter steer. Once you pull your head out of your a** and ride the speed limit, countersteering is just another tool on your toolbox.
I was in a group ride today, coming downhill through a switchback, and I started watching the guys in front to see how they handled the corners… bad idea ! Came into the following left hander so off line and too fast 🫣 , it was a very messy turn 😂, like I was learning. WATCH THE ROAD !!
But how else to learn than doing it but I do believe in anything they should be teaching to watch further down the road period in driving anything that should e the number one thing I drive a truck and it’s amazing of how a lot of 4 wheelers and 2 wheelers isn’t watching down instead foot in front you can tell when they get right on something and brake check cmon government teach better in the beginning and anyone just starting to even drive a car I’d sat them in the car and put a piece of tape just under their eye sight teach them to look over it make it normal to be looking down the road
Thanks, you make a lot of negative HD comments on my channel so here is a multiple choice quiz. You are A. Jealous B. Envious C. Bitter D. All of the above.
Or if you go for the later entry, but you sadly misjudge your entry speed and are indeed sending it in too hott, you either lean like all hell, reduce speed-quickly but mindfully, pray, or🗯️
Great video mate....corning is very important....and don't forget to use your head....look to where you want to go! Ride safe 😎
Thanks again
It was my mom that got us interested in riding motorcycles. Cornering was our excitement in ride. We never feared corners!
This is an especially useful instructional video on cornering but even more so for uphill cornering. Thanks!
Another awesome video Aymen , thank you each corner gets a little easier thanks to your lessons !
Keep doing you !
My pleasure!

Was that at Armstrongs? I just turned fifty and got back on the bike after twenty years and it was the same drumming into us the right way to corner

Late apex is one of the first things you learn in racing. Smoother and faster in most cases.
