These animation tutorial series are gold! For those who want to learn more should check it out Very informative. Keep up the good work! You are one of my fav animators.
Ms. Skitty Animates, I have a specific question about acting especially facial animation, mouth shapes For example, let’s say your character is angry, belligerent and he’s like that during your shot How’d you emphasize the mouth shape according to his emotions, mood? I mean how to achieve an angry mouth shape or happy mouth shape That’s something I struggle a lot in my acting and I sent you the link to my reel on your other tutorial. It looks stiff doesn’t look organic How do you guys handle this and achieve great organic shapes based on the character’s feeling, emotions? Last but not least, do you ever use the 2D camera to not mess your camera angles? Thank you Cheers
Thank you! amazing video, super clear and straight to the point, i would love it to have subtitles since english isnt my first language but still its pretty useful and easy to understand!
Is there a way to change the default tangent for an attribute? For example, I make a custom attribute and I want the default tangent of that attribute to be the step tangent...
If you go up to Windows> Settings/Preferences>Preferences and click the Animation sub category on the left, you can change your default in & out tangent types, but it will change it for everything in the scene. I'm not sure if there's a way to change it for specific attributes.. Sorry if that doesn't help.
Hi Skitty, Thank you for putting the time doing these videos! If I may, wanted to ask you something, I'm just getting into animation using the standard Maya quick rig tool, and sometime I can't figure it out why my keys in the graph editor are not affecting the the model. I figured it's something with the IK, when I switch between, full body, body part and selection, I sometimes can find the right key in the editor, but it's messy and I don't know what I am doing most of the time, also it becomes a night mare when In trying to copy keys of just one of the controls in my rig to another control. Does any of your videos addresses that or would you know somewhere I could go get myself educated on these? Thank you so much!!
Now one thing I still don't understand is how in the world do you manage to edit the curves for every axis on every bone? If you have a character with a ton of bones and each bone has three translates, rotations, and scales, wouldn't it take forever to edit all those curves?
That's a great question. It's all about prioritizing, and trying not to overthink it. Not every control needs movement, and not all keys need to be tweaked. For instance, if a character has 3 torso controls, you could A) see if you can get away with only posing with one of those controls, or B) grab all 3 of them when posing so they have the same transforms/keys, allowing you to tweak all 3 at once. The majority of the time scale isn't touched on character rigs, so deleting those keys leaves you with 6 transforms to work with. At this point it's all about adding the broad strokes (IE adding an ease on all transforms at once; either through drag-setting keys or through tween machine), looking for any problematic sections, and putting your focus there. If you still have questions just let me know. Happy animating!
Why cant i move my keys with just left click and drag? It requires holding shift and drag. It was working fine a minute ago with just left click drag. Someone help
Nice nice nice video I hope u try blender and share ur knowledge about animation It’s similar to maya and has a laaaarge community that can watch ur videos :D

this girl is saving us more money , teaching us more than college lecturers.
Exactly what I was looking for!! Thank you so much, this saved me a whole lot of time trying to snap each key one at a time, after scaling them!

Hi skitty good tutorial for learning graph editor thanks for this video class
thankyou skitty
Thank you you are the best 🙌🏼
thank you. really.
Nice one....
Thank you
Is there any easy way to flatten all the lines? should that result in smoother movement?
Would you make a video about cleaning up animation as well? Thanks.
or you can go to workspace (top right) change to animation
and you have to edit each body part separately?

@@SkittyAnimates It will be quite useful to be able to change it for spesific attributes, but I guess I have to work with what I got for now...

Anytime! Happy to help 😊
I'm doing shift and middle mouse dragging but still end up in between frames
Right click the timeline and make sure auto snap keys is turned on, then try again
@@SkittyAnimates yeah it was I find my error was because I was scaling them instead of moving it
Glad you figured it out!

Pls provide basic animation through polygon
My Graph Editor is blank :( NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED. How do I fix this issue?
