It must be overwhelming to lie in bed at night and think of the number of people you've had a significant emotional impact on, myself included. Jake Chudnow is truly brilliant. Does he put these videos together himself? The subliminal imagery is fucking astonishing, these videos captivate my imagination at such a deep level, it’s practically spiritual. Every time I see a frame, I wonder “what is the message behind this? What did he mean by that? What is the greater message he’s trying to convey?”. Presumably, he did not film any of these clips himself. He’s just a wizard of mining the internet for beautiful, obscure footage, and assembling it into intriguing works of art. He’s a talent the world needs to see more from. I’m truly moved by his videos and music.
Saudade - an emotional state of melancholic or profoundly nostalgic longing for something or someone that one loves despite it not necessarily being real or they reciprocate it back. This word perfectly depicts the aura of this song. It is truly beautiful.

The sounds and frequencies you create are some of the best and deepest things I’ve ever heard in my life. Nostalgic, profound, timeless... Listening to your music is an experience that's really hard to put into words. It reaches the deepest parts of my consciousness and being, something unexplainable yet profoundly moving. _They say that when about to be born, an angel will show you everything you will ever experience in your life, and for that brief moment, you will have absolute clarity, only to forget moments later…. This happens to every human being, and Olive was no different._ _Olive saw she was fated to become a celebrity, one of those old timey ones on black and white TV, wealthy, and admired by millions. However, the life of a star would also mean that she would meet a very gruesome end, and at the end of her life, she would resent her life of stardom and think back on her childhood, and wish she hadn’t died at such a young age, scream to God that it was unfair for her to be taken so soon…_ _She saw her childhood, a good one, one she would cherish for her whole life, especially at it’s end. She saw the road trips her parents took her on, and how much she enjoyed looking out the window, she remembered learning to drive herself, so that she could take herself on her beloved roadtrips whenever she wanted, and finally, she saw her face, her own face at first, tipsy, dancing, happy, but then finally_ *her* _face, the face of her future murderer, an obsessive stan who was upset that the young celebrity never noticed her…._ _It’s time to wake up, Olive. It’s time to be born and remember NONE of this_ *What? But no! NO!* *I don’t want to be a star! Why would you tell me this if I can’t even change it?* *DON’T FORGET! REMEMBER!* *Live a normal life live a normal life live a normal life oh God PLEASE!* *LIGHT* 10317
Jake your stuff is incredible, please please please put it on Spotify, I would be listening to this song and so many other incredible songs you’ve made daily
For some reason, this song reminds me of waking up in the morning super early. You know when you're half asleep, but you know you have to get ready for the day. Just sitting for a few minutes, thinking either about what you dreamed about last night, what you're planning to do for the day, or some other random topic you woke up inexplicably thinking about more than you usually do when you're fully awake.
As someone who often would play Jake Chudnow’s music during my early morning showers before school, I can say I relate strongly to this comment. It’s a weird sort of trance, and not bad either when paired with the music and a high-pressure showerhead.
Even as I question my presence in this universe, I do believe it is a privelage to be able to experience what I have, and in the end, I will become one with it once again. Forever eternal. We are all entities within the entity trying to understand itself
Your music makes me feel despair at the idea of never knowing what's out there in the vastness of space but also this all-encompassing joy stemming from the bits of existence that I do get to experience.
This song speaks to me. The elegant simplicity brings everything into perspective... close your eyes and listen while trying to focus on the flashes happening through your eyelids; like a kaleidoscope of sorts and then the bass cones in moving you to an epiphany
This is where I lost my mind everyday. This is where I find myself peaceful everyday. This is what I listen when I am thinking about what she gave me. This is the music in my soul.
@@non-inertialobserver946 that one magical comment chain in which anybody mentioning undertale is not instantly verbally murdered. a nice shot of false hope for humanity
10703 I keep coming back to this song. There's something that just makes me gain a sparkle of hope in an endless sea of setbacks. Like a tiny nostalgic piece of me that activates when I hear this.
"We are... finite creatures. Our lives are small and can only scientifical consider a small part of reality. What's common for us is just a *sliver* of what's available. _We can only see so much of the electromagnetic spectrum- we can only delve so deep into extensions of space._ " -Michael Stevens, 2015
Finally, I found it! Ever since hearing this in Messages For The Future, I knew I had to find it. When Michael was describing the Library of Babel to this track I got literal goosebumps. So awesome.
It's amazing how much feelings this song brings up.. And how different these feelings are from each other.. Jake, you did it again. Thank you very much. You're brilliant.
...No one is around forever. Those not immortalised in books or by physical means will fade from history, leaving only memories for the few that knew them... But the universe won't forget... it can't. Every day we are changing the universe by millions and millions of particles just by existing! So no matter where you are in 100 years... long passed away, or clinging to the very end of your life--you can be sure that the universe will remember you... even if those that were close to you do not... And as always... thanks for watching.
If theres ever a time I need to let my bottled up emotions out or just need to clear my mind this is what I go to. This song has gotten me through the deepest darkest times of my life. Idk if I would be here if it wasn't for this. Thanks is all I have to say, from one lonely dude. Thanks for not letting me give up...
antonio uriarte me too brother. This rhythm reminisces every dark though into positive energy, it makes you become the person you want to be and who your happy to be. Thank you vsauce for showing me this art and thank you Jake for creating such a beautiful song. Thanks Antonio for making me realise it is okay to listen to this music in any sort of manner.
10,678 this song has really been a major source of inspiration for my creative projects. every time i want to shift lore-creating mode into high gear this song serves as a great method to get in the mood
I always imagine this song as the end of a movie. Depressed. Been told your not good enough. Memory of good. Fruitfulness. Gone. Like a butterfly in a storm. Just vast emptiness. Crushing loneliness. Give up. It's over. Never give up, eh? Why fight when there's nothing to fight for? Isn't it the point? Short and sweet, beautiful. End. Now and gone. New will happen, always. Just end with the old, start with the new. Emotion is raw, future is done. Goodbye.
My interpretation: "Olive" is a short for Olivia, the girl that is shown in the video, they (she and her husband/boyfriend from who's perspective we see the video) either broke up or she passed away or something else happened to her. As there is a couple depicted at those ruins 2:19. And later at 2:25 we see the man walk away alone (since she is no longer around) All the places are places they have been together and the colors are a symbol of their relationship. Once she leaves he keeps seeing her everywhere (depicted by her later appearances)
10,580 Around november of 2019 a user by the name of MrMarmalad commented a number, that number was the amount of comments this video had. around that same time many others decided to comment the number of comments on many other Jake Chudnows videos, and now everyone just went along with it. Sometimes the numbers don't allign because replies to comments count as comments
4107 Someday, someone will post the very last comment on this video. The records of you being here, and leaving that comment will still be there. Untouched. Forever let still to sit in the vast ocean of the internet. It's so funny, I scrolled all the way down to 3463, and found my comment, from a few weeks ago. Untouched. Not insignificant, but a steppingstone to another, greater, larger milestone. All of these 4107 other comments, and more that come after me will leave a legacy on the internet, no matter how minute it may be. This song reminds me how uncontrollable life is, how unpredictable and unsure one can be in the world around them. Who knows, my comment or maybe yours may be the very last comment on this video. Cheers, to the end, boys.
8823 This song is an auditory masterpiece that leaves me in awe and admiration for the universe's enormity. Its intricate composition and arrangement of soundscapes evoke a sense of insignificance in comparison to the vastness of the cosmos. Listening to this masterpiece, I feel like a mere speck in the universe, insignificant in the grand scheme of things. The composition's intricate layers and interwoven melodies create a sense of complexity that mirrors the universe's intricate workings, leaving me in a state of wonder and admiration. It's like looking up at the stars on a clear night and realizing how small you are in comparison to the vastness of the cosmos. This song is a beautiful reminder of the beauty and complexity of the universe.
The chord progression is so beautiful, it sounds like the music is telling a story... it kinda makes me a little emotional when I'm high and I just close my eyes and reflect on my life while listening to this song
This makes me extremely nostalgic, well, it doesn't feel like nostalgia, like I try to put it into words but, my mouth just hangs open, its the closest word to describe some pf what this feeling is, I can't tell you the feeling I am having but it makes my eyes water and I freeze because of this intense feeling and am stuck here in my own head.
I seriously just think this is the most well paced and utterly brilliant song I've heard in a while. Something's always building up and it stops at a perfect time of lull. I love it.
6215. i find it very weird to think that every event, tragedy, breakthrough, disaster, success and everyone you love and know in the short timeframe which we have existed occurs on a small blue marble drifting in space
Listened to this back in class in 2022. I would sit there in math classes by myself hysterically crying and thinking about just life itself lol. Idk but music just explains everything on how I feel
Your masterpieces are incredibly underrated. Each one is truly one of a kind, it's own unique genre. I'm so incredibly happy Vsauce brought me to your channel. I have an 'inspirational music' playlist made up of your music now to play.
when i first started listening to this because of vsauce and i was like "huh i know why they used this music cause its cool" now after listening to it and analyzing it i now think they used it because of the nature of vsauce and the songs kinda link together
Jakes songs always evoke some sort of nostalgia in me yet at the same time feel like im looking at something from a far time in the future, and it's always so strong for some reason. It defined a certain time in my childhood with vsauce videos but the themes of those videos and the songs themselves are always about progress and the future itself. It's something weird and I really appreciate it as there's not many things that make me feel this way.
The most beautiful, amazing, wonderful thing about this music (art) is it makes us feel, think and questions ourselves about the same thing. Life, Universe whoever we are whatever we lived, saw, thought all this in 4:20 min. Makes us wanna cry, scream, love, laugh, smile, think. All this at once. It reminds us how small we are living in an infinite universe with infinite time. It reminds us that life is small and hard. All i want to say to you who is reading this, if theirs anything you wanna make make it no matter what, no matter how... If we lived across this tiny chance in the universe nothing can stop you. You can do it... (Sorry if theirs any English errors but i hope you get the point😉)
When the universe, our universe, could, comparably, be the size of a marble to an outsider looking in, just as the atoms we observe today, are so immensely tiny to us, the secrets they could possibly contain, the universes the may harbour, each universe within the entity of another, endlessly spiralling with infinite infinities of complexity, like a Mandelbrot fractal, forever.
Yea, this music really hits you, it makes you think about life and how small we are and the small amount of information that we will ever perceive as long as the human race will exist. Soon there will be a new species on earth, ones smarter since they will have our information, it's really dad to know that we're all ending soon and just talking about this makes me shake in fear and fascination Edit: His music is beautiful
I’m surprised how good these music pieces work for Vsause! Edit: Even on an old video, I can still tell that people are watching and looking at the comments for this video. You would probably think people would leave it be from how old the video is, but no. This fact makes me a little happy, but I’m not sure why...
Me too. Its like a little hidden garden of Chudnow lovers. This music makes me feel so good and free but also lonely and sad. Its a magical combination of feelings that can really only be brought out by these songs.
and someone feels like it's the ending credits after their coffin got closed, isn't it making us feel we're as just as connected after all? like every one of us?

_They say that when about to be born, an angel will show you everything you will ever experience in your life, and for that brief moment, you will have absolute clarity, only to forget moments later…. This happens to every human being, and Olive was no different._
_Olive saw she was fated to become a celebrity, one of those old timey ones on black and white TV, wealthy, and admired by millions. However, the life of a star would also mean that she would meet a very gruesome end, and at the end of her life, she would resent her life of stardom and think back on her childhood, and wish she hadn’t died at such a young age, scream to God that it was unfair for her to be taken so soon…_
_She saw her childhood, a good one, one she would cherish for her whole life, especially at it’s end. She saw the road trips her parents took her on, and how much she enjoyed looking out the window, she remembered learning to drive herself, so that she could take herself on her beloved roadtrips whenever she wanted, and finally, she saw her face, her own face at first, tipsy, dancing, happy, but then finally_ *her* _face, the face of her future murderer, an obsessive stan who was upset that the young celebrity never noticed her…._
_It’s time to wake up, Olive. It’s time to be born and remember NONE of this_
*What? But no! NO!*
*I don’t want to be a star! Why would you tell me this if I can’t even change it?*
*DON’T FORGET! REMEMBER!*
*Live a normal life live a normal life live a normal life oh God PLEASE!*

Jake your stuff is incredible, please please please put it on Spotify, I would be listening to this song and so many other incredible songs you’ve made daily
For some reason all of these songs sound like the very definition of science. It's kind of amazing.
Probably because Vsauce uses them :D
I totally think the same thing. It's like they all explain something
Even without Michael talking this video makes me question existence
10644 looked for this song for years after it first touched me. Randomly shows up one day when not looking.
Your profile picture is more divine than what you have written
Your music makes me feel despair at the idea of never knowing what's out there in the vastness of space but also this all-encompassing joy stemming from the bits of existence that I do get to experience.
10062. I don't understand what's going on but I'm up for it.
I wish Michel would start making his usual content again, I really loved it

I keep coming back to this song. There's something that just makes me gain a sparkle of hope in an endless sea of setbacks. Like a tiny nostalgic piece of me that activates when I hear this.
Sounds so familiar yet foreign, so creepy yet comforting. It’s difficult to put into words
"We are... finite creatures.

So awesome.

Jake, you did it again. Thank you very much. You're brilliant.
I'm surprised so many people are still listening to this, it's so old.
I understand tho, it's such an amazing track

It’s honestly not that old tbh

...No one is around forever.

Aside from all the interesting facts I've learned from vsauce finding this music is perhaps the best thing that's came from following that channel
It's like you are leaving this dimension and these are the last visuals your brain seems to be producing before you finally close your eyes forever.
Thanks Antonio for making me realise it is okay to listen to this music in any sort of manner.

this song has really been a major source of inspiration for my creative projects. every time i want to shift lore-creating mode into high gear this song serves as a great method to get in the mood
7137,11:32 pm, looking for some inner peace. Currently loving solitude. Life is uncertain, but am trying to enjoy it.
From Kolkata,India
I always imagine this song as the end of a movie. Depressed. Been told your not good enough. Memory of good. Fruitfulness. Gone. Like a butterfly in a storm. Just vast emptiness. Crushing loneliness. Give up. It's over. Never give up, eh? Why fight when there's nothing to fight for? Isn't it the point?
Short and sweet, beautiful. End. Now and gone. New will happen, always. Just end with the old, start with the new. Emotion is raw, future is done.
Goodbye.
Peanuts? How are you doing?
My interpretation: "Olive" is a short for Olivia, the girl that is shown in the video, they (she and her husband/boyfriend from who's perspective we see the video) either broke up or she passed away or something else happened to her. As there is a couple depicted at those ruins 2:19. And later at 2:25 we see the man walk away alone (since she is no longer around) All the places are places they have been together and the colors are a symbol of their relationship. Once she leaves he keeps seeing her everywhere (depicted by her later appearances)
y so in-depth, it's a musics.

Around november of 2019 a user by the name of MrMarmalad commented a number, that number was the amount of comments this video had. around that same time many others decided to comment the number of comments on many other Jake Chudnows videos, and now everyone just went along with it. Sometimes the numbers don't allign because replies to comments count as comments
Thanks man, didn't know that

Someday, someone will post the very last comment on this video.

This song is an auditory masterpiece that leaves me in awe and admiration for the universe's enormity. This song is a beautiful reminder of the beauty and complexity of the universe.
very well written omen.

The chord progression is so beautiful, it sounds like the music is telling a story... it kinda makes me a little emotional when I'm high and I just close my eyes and reflect on my life while listening to this song

How does one get high.
I randomly decided to look up my daughters name Olive on TH-cam and I am so content with what I've found.
Jake, thank you for this masterpiece.
Yes, I understand that feeling very well. Thanks
"And as always, thanks for watching"
I seriously just think this is the most well paced and utterly brilliant song I've heard in a while.
Something's always building up and it stops at a perfect time of lull.
I love it.
Exactly. This is my favourite one among all jake chudnow's songs. :)

This is what an existential crisis sounds like
6215. i find it very weird to think that every event, tragedy, breakthrough, disaster, success and everyone you love and know in the short timeframe which we have existed occurs on a small blue marble drifting in space
We're all on a simple pale blue dot... Lost in our endless Universe
Listened to this back in class in 2022. I would sit there in math classes by myself hysterically crying and thinking about just life itself lol. Idk but music just explains everything on how I feel

Same for me
Next time please put your designated number at the beginning of your comment, this is highly unprofessional.
Same thing here. Jake's music and Vsauce are really something unique to me. Don't know anything else that could make me feel this way.
And that is why it's amazing...i was thinking of the exact same things
Fucking loser
When the universe, our universe, could, comparably, be the size of a marble to an outsider looking in, just as the atoms we observe today, are so immensely tiny to us, the secrets they could possibly contain, the universes the may harbour, each universe within the entity of another, endlessly spiralling with infinite infinities of complexity, like a Mandelbrot fractal, forever.

Yea, this music really hits you, it makes you think about life and how small we are and the small amount of information that we will ever perceive as long as the human race will exist. Soon there will be a new species on earth, ones smarter since they will have our information, it's really dad to know that we're all ending soon and just talking about this makes me shake in fear and fascination

Me too. Its like a little hidden garden of Chudnow lovers. This music makes me feel so good and free but also lonely and sad. Its a magical combination of feelings that can really only be brought out by these songs.
Damn, this could be the trailer of our planet
i feel like the giver ending would be better but its all angled to be perfect which doesnt represent us.
This video makes me feel like I'm seeing a life that I had before I was born
and someone feels like it's the ending credits after their coffin got closed, isn't it making us feel we're as just as connected after all? like every one of us?
