PLUTO (2003)
I love how protective Atom is of his little sister. He rarely ever gets angry in the series-- he gets angry about injustice (or by being called Tobio instead of Atom), sure, but even that is usually a cooler anger coupled with grief and sadness. However, if someone tries hurting Uran? Instant rage mode.
It sometimes seems so absurdly out of character for him that it makes me smile a little.
Edit: 2:24 oh boy prepare to take some damage Pluto 'cuz Atom's voice just dropped a whole octave
And that's what I love about Atom in this series. He's usually super sweet and kind and always tries to reason with the other party, but when someone even DARES to hurt Uran he gets so protective over her. I honestly love their relationship, it's adorable seeing how much they care about each other.
@@Astroniko003 He also tries to pacify his other _sibling_ Atlas.
Technically, Atlas is Atom's real brother.
We later learn that Hamegg was the guy who owned the Blue Knight when the poor fellow was an ordinary robot and was the one responsible for the Blue Knight’s hatred for humans.

Pluto's voice is Akio Otsuka
Who also voiced Lockdown in Transformers Animated JP dub and Anavel Gato in Gundam 0083.
He also voices Black Beard from One Piece and Yujiro Hanma from Baki. There are a lot more but I know him best as those roles.
And Solid Snake from MGS and Batou from GiTS: Stand Alone Complex.
Atomu's voice is the same as Takato in Digimon Tamers.

Thank you so much for uploading this scene! This has to be one of my favorites throughout the whole series, and I hardly see any clips up on here aside from the dub, let alone of Hamegg, so I know I appreciated it lol
You're welcome! I noticed the extreme lack of Japanese Astro Boy content with subs in good quality, so it's the least I could do as a fan myself was to upload the clips subbed.

@@edward18517 I know this was 5 months ago but I recently started rewatching the 2003 release and this whole episode in English was missing. It just skipped to the next part and I was confused. Are you saying it never had an English version release?
@@lEluSivl I was taking about how there isn't a subtitled version of the Japanese version of the series in general, but I do know there was least one episode that was never shown in the English version (I think it's the Neverland episode). I think I remember there were also various bits of other episodes that were missing though in the English version with, I think, parts from this segment being missing, possibly due to the destruction in the scene.
@@edward18517 ahh I see, Thankyou for the clarification, it’s a bit sad cause when I was a kid this series meant everything to me and then just now rewatching it, I still am missing the same very episode that I never could watch before.

Fun Fact: Pluto in Astro boy 2003 shares the same Japanese voice actor with Blackbeard from one piece, Solid snake from metal gear solid, and Red in Megaman X7. His Japanese voice actor's name is Akio Otsuka.

Yeah I noticed that they were those very same robots who were all the first victims of Pluto aka Bruton in the previous adaptations of the story.
