Danyo...thanks so much. Excellent video and so helpful to me as I am building up a Trek 720. I like your style of vids - you actually riding a bike a bit, straight forward language (not too chatty), they look beautiful and the music and sound is awesome. Cheers! -Korey
Hello all. I have a bike with a M48 Bottom Bracket. I want to upgrade my drive train to shimano xt. The xt BB is obviously smaller so I’m wondering if they make some type of thread in step down or if another option is available?
Mmh can I use a mtb bottom bracket with a road crankset on a 68 bottom bracket with the spacers? Because bb-rs500 for the fc-r3030 is hard to get not like the bb-mt501. Both are for 24mm
I'm using the same BB52 for my latest build. Unlike other BBs, I realized that this has higher resistance as I screw it into the shell mid-way. I backed off several times as I thought I cross-threaded but seems fine. I suspect it's the orange "loctite" that is introducing the resistance, but perhaps is not a bad thing to make the BB stay snug. I don't have this problem with other brands of BBs (e.g. Racework, IXF, etc). Do you encounter a similar situation?
No, both sides of a square tapered bottom bracket crankset would be a squared female mating, so it is held by a nut of sorts. Hollowtech cranksets are held together with both crank arms itself, coupled with the nut as you saw.
You can always torque everything to its specification, otherwise, you can tighten it till it just starts to squeak. That’s how some would do without a torque wrench.
I installed Hollowtech 2 on my 1995 Trek 930 (73mm) without spacer and combined with a 6mm offset chainring. Works perfectly !
What a great video, great content and very good camera work. Thank you for posting.
You got a sub. Good luck with your channel.

Yes, they come with spacers.

What bike do you have? Road or mountain?
@@DanyoSports an old touring bike from before 2000. Bsa with 68mm. At the moment with a road bike drivetrain over octalink

Yes, mine also had resistance when I screw it in from the mid-way to the end.
can you use your crankset that you've used on your square tapered bb
into the hollowtech?

I’m assuming the bottom bracket doesn’t get torqued
