I'm Back! Who's ready for some offroad adventures this summer?

Perfect timing as I am getting ready to install an aluminum radiator in my legacy which means I have to install an external cooler since the new radiator doesn't have an internal cooler. I really like the bracket you made, I was going to try to bolt the cooler directly to something in the front end but I will definitely make a bracket.

Is there a way to add a temp sensor to the Foresters transmission?

Yeah, you can definitely get a trans temp gauge. The most common setup I have seen is a inline one

Nice vid- doing the same for my 06 xt but can’t find info on which line is the return! Heard it was the long line to the passenger side but not sure! Which one did you use?

I go through my set up at 11:52. This forum post also goes over it: forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1707125

Thinking about installing a tranny cooler on my 99 outback and I need some ideas

It should be a pretty similar install, I am not 100% sure though as I haven't took a close look at then gen of Outbacks.

I don't care what anybody tells you. There is NO SUCH THING as a life time part. If anybody tells you that, they're full of crap, even if they're the manufacturer.

I can see that how the filter could be a lifetime part if the car only went to 250,00km but at 300,000km it was definitely time to change it!

@@Chase_Schrader well that's the thing, they call it a lifetime part because they expect (and encourage) you to junk the car as soon as it gets a few miles under its belt, but if a car was actually properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner it would last well beyond the life of that filter.

Oh yeah for sure, especially in new cars! My Forester is at 360,000 and still going strong!
