The only thing they care about is share holder value and profits nothing is going to make things cheaper. I`m in my 60`s and not one time have I ever seen the price of living go down.
@@michaelblake1023- wake up fool corporate America is republican to the core and for the simple reason that the republicans don’t give a damned about the working class I’m old enough to remember Reagan saying the working poor deserve to be poor because they should have went to college, what is everyone supposed to be paper shufflers, who going to build roads and bring groceries to the stores then sell them and pick the garbage up etc etc. but you keep believing if you work cheap enough you’ll magically become a wealthy investor class member like bezos and musk
This consolidation has been going on for years and it’s almost to late, there are now wholesalers left for independents to buy from, there is big money behind this as in Cerberus they convinced Albertsons in the 80’s-90’s to buy many smaller chains with their financing they couldn’t handle the debt load and then Cerberus went to SuperValu and convinced them to buy Albertsons in a partnership deal and put the screws to SuperValu and fleeced SuperValu for 10 billion and bought Albertsons from them then repeated this with Safeway, don’t forget it’s Albertsons/safeway not just Albertsons owned by Cerberus the only competitor left in the traditional market is Kroger, thankfully we have Costco still. How Cerberus has destroyed all these chains including SuperValu should have been looked into years ago. Remember when we had top foods/hagens thriftway , food for less ,IGA and so many more choices now we have Kroger, Safeway/albertsons winco , Costco and the bottom feeding Walmart
I spent six months on a picket line cut pension distributions added co-pays to doctor visits chased out all the knowledge clerks with experience now they’re struggling to keep their doors open Safeway started all this crap when they took Vons back
We hear about the monopolistic aspects of mergers such as this, but what about the monopsonistic aspects? This will also harm workers who will not have competition for their work skills and experience.
I'm going to start buying directly from farms. F!@# these corporations.
Nonsense lowering costs isn’t even a concern to them.

stop voting blue would help. suspend gas tax and property tax and lower all tax. you will see food prices drop.
@@michaelblake1023 It would not make a single difference, all smoke and mirrors the cost of living never goes down, never has never will.
@@michaelblake1023 Oh you poor sweet child. It isn't just "Blues" doing it. Reds do it just as much.

We freaking dealt with this 100+ years ago with the trust busting anti-monopoly laws championed by Teddy Roosevelt.
We're not going back.
It seems that we are
I enjoy kooky professors. king5 should do this more often. and of course Joyce is a treasure.
When corporate CEO profits are rising, the problem goes beyond mere inflation.
kroger opens and closes stores faster than an elevator. they will burn thru your money N laugh
Why wouldn't the same logic apply to breaking up Boeing?

Another thing the people need to take back, their own food cultivation.
Could....smh
I hope Bob wins!
Umm, no. He'll make this state worse than what it is now.

FTC fails to stop the merger!
