I'll add my thanks, too. Have an Alesis VL61 keyboard that i managed to drop whilst making a desk tray for it. Found one key was now not working well. Found your vid, and was able to fix the problem, and now working as good as new, YT is a great resource!
Thanks brother. I bought my v49 6 years ago, but adult life caught up with me and I had to put it away, I didn't even use it in the pandemic since I had a broken leg... anyway this month I decided to set up my studio at home and when I dusted it off it was infested with cockroaches, with this video I had the courage to disassemble it and clean it completely... now it's as good as new. It was very satisfying to do the maintenance by myself, again thank you very much.
really great video, i have this keyboard myself. the information regarding cleaning dirty contacts and rescuing electronic devices with alcohol is really helpful.
Thanks guys. I have V61 for many many years. And black keys were so much louder than white keys.. and one black key didnt sound. So today i opened the keyboard and for few hours clean everything with alcohol (our moravian "slivovica") ... and it works perfect, blackkeys are at the same level of volume (maybe little softer) which is great.. and that one key is working again :) so thnaks. Tested in Ableton with free Keyzone pianos VST-
What is the correct term or name of those blue tires to buy them in case they are damaged? Great video. Greetins from Mexico. I will try to fix mi Alexis Keyboards i have 3 with keyboard bug. This model ALESIS V61 it is my favorite to performance i have four of them actually.
I have an Alesis V25, and my drum pads trigger multiple times with a single press. It has the latest firmware update. Does your keyboard have this problem? Could it be resolved by disassembling it?
This is not exactly relevant, but do you happen to know the label of the jack board? The one that has the sustain and midi ports and is connected to the “JACK” header on the main board. I’m desperately looking for a replacement for the jack board since I didn’t realize the used “for parts” model I bought actually had the part gutted out of it. I’m trying to find out what it’s actually called so I can search for it better.
bro im your fans from malaysia, why my other octave is problem when i just succefully repaired the one i want, hope your reply me because i am crying right now

Thanks man, this is really helpful, greetings from mexico
Good work Rob. Consumer devices are really hard to repair because they are not made to be serviced. Phil
The next one will be easier to fix now that I am an "expert" :-)
Hmm any suggestions if cleaning it didn’t work. I just have a single key I can’t get signal from

I have this, I kinda dropped it and it completely stopped working, is it fixable??? 😢😢😢😢
Also is it a case of a cable disconnecting inside?
If it doesn't work at all I wonder if it is something disconnected in the power
hey. thanks for the video. what are you using to clean it with the toothbrush? water? can i use isopropanol?
Yes. I use anhydrous alcohol which doesn't have any water but off the shelf alcohol will work fine

Or possibly would you be willing to email me a picture of that daughterboard?
can I clean it just using tooth brush?
Sure, and use alcohol, for cleaning.
