Yeah the wings have definitely improved from last season and should make the playoffs this upcoming season, they kind of formed themselves into a baby Florida Panthers team

The Penguins are hard pressed against the cap space, so as much as Yinzers want a Golden State Warriors-esque "superteam" to flex over everyone, that is not happening. Plus, "playing with Crosby and Malkin" is no longer an enticing pitch, given the ages of their two franchise faces, so I highly doubt Roslovic wants to take a pay cut simply to be on a team with #87 and #71.

The sharks do have Jan Rutta signed for next year, he's a right shot, but he is definitely a shut down defensive d-man. But Boqvist would fit into the reclamation project thing the sharks did with Zadina, and he would be no worse than Addison was, but potentially much better. Also they have the cap space to sign both the right shot defensemen and if Boqvist ends up injured it'll create opportunities for Emberson and Thompson to get nhl minutes.

Sharks also have Benning signed, and Grier mentioned they will resign RFA Emberson so technically they have all 3 RHD, but it's still lacking that top pair RHD which I don't think Boqvist really is and I'm a little bit iffy about it. We just went through Calend Addison, and I have the same worries

I do not understand the PDL trade for the life of me but the rest of the moves the caps have made are A+. If PDL plays like he's supposed to it has the potential to be a great trade but that contract is rough and LONG.

How is Sprong still unsigned, come on Stevie he had 43 points with very limited ice time. Scored very timely and clutch goals
as a knights fan i would be a huge fan of a daniel sprong signing, guy can boost our team heavily right now in our state, but it would take a bit of cap clearing possibly
I think Sprong would be a great addition for the leafs. They always lack depth scoring and him on a cheap 2 year deal or something I think he’d make for a great 3rd line scoring winger.
No mention of Lankinen! Guy was solid behind Saros past two seasons and on some parts outplayed Saros. Weird seeing lesser goalies getting contracts, maybe he is waiting for bigger role?
Daniel Sprong to LA would be interesting considering they only have 2 fwd that r right handed
Here is an idea for you nyquist. What rh def will Detroit trade for. I know it has to come because there is zero options for a second line rh def. And how would husso or holls contract be in play for it.
For league minimum, I’d take a flyer if I’m the Leafs. Look at Hyman and Bunting, they figured things out playing with Matthews and Nylander, Marner too if he’s sticking around.
Might be a way for him to claw his way back into the league past this year
Adam Boqvist to Winnipeg seems like a decent fit, wonder if his brother Jesper signs there too like the Joesph brothers
Roslovic between Garland & Joshua on the Canucks 3rd line could be interesting.
If the Oilers could make something happen with Kane like get him moved or w.e Tyler Johnson would be a nice fit in Edmonton to take over Kanes position..
Honestly think my Habs should go after Sprong. We need some offense right now and with all the injuries up front we could get some suprising value from a great offensive player. Stick him with Dach and Newhook on line 2 and PP 2 then flip him for something at the deadline?

Kraken shouldve never let Sprong go, whole way the offense worked during the playoff run was ludicrous amounts of depth scoring/feasting on opponent 3rd and 4th lines. Bring him back.

I wonder... Could MSL help Zadina reach some kind of potential? I mean, the age, the position, it wouldn't hurt to get him for a trial year in MTL. Or maybe it's just too many young players that will need to take another step forward.

@@Canucksnate Van have puck moving dmen, they want defensive/pk specialists. If van had a bunch of cap space, I would love either/both but with where they are atm, unless it is someone who can play with hughes, no player should be signed for more then a couple mil.
Happy to go into the season with a hole in the top 4 d and make a trade for it then wasting cap space trying to fill it with a bad fit FA.

AFP Analytics suggested 2x4.16M while Evolving Hockey had 3x5.5M, but they suggested that 4.75 was about right on a two year term.
Sharks have Benning and Rutta on the right side signed and Emberson who's an RFA. They also have way too many mid d-men as it is, Boqvist is 100% not the solution and just creates a bigger logjam. I'd rather just let Emberson, Thrun, and Shakir get an elevated role than bring in another project

Unfortunately I don’t think there’s going to be players that will bolster the Canucks that much. The free agency this year was more top heavy. I think their best bet would be to try and trade for a key piece. On the bright side they don’t have Ian Cole anymore to help the Oilers out. If they are really desperate they might look to trade for Laine.
Edit: Just check and the Canucks don’t have much cap. They have about $1 mil left if you check puckpedia so they will need to offload some contracts.

Can someone tell me why guys are siging with the Red Wings? Usually older guys would like a chance to win or win the cup again. I guess they won cups so now just play for the money? But why Red Wings? LOL.
With Landeskog and Nichushkin hopefully coming back at full form sooner or later, i dont think Avalanche can do much signings at all?
The best case scenario for us is if Landeskog will be back at training camp, and if all goes well for Nichushkin in the assistance programme he will be back November. You cant really replace those guys anyway so its better to wait than have cap headaches later.
What we would really need though is a good 2nd goalie to compete with Georgiev.
tarasenko signing with wings is a death sentence to his career. Playing for that bottom feeder directionless team is going to do him no favours
