Toddrick Hall went to the same high school as Scott, Mitch and Kirstie. He was a couple of years ahead of them. Sadly, I think they had a falling out, but yes, he is very talented and is known for these big productions.
I didn’t know they went to school together. I was gonna say they went to school together but I didn’t know Toddrick went to school too. I knew he’d love this. Upgrades for sure!!!
Todrick spent years thinking about the "Wizard of Ahhs" and collecting songs for it. My only problem is that Kevin gets treated rather badly; he's playing a dog, he is usually not in the scene or way off to the side, and you'd think Todrick could have come up with a song for Kevin and Kirstie.
It was said before, but Todrick did another colab with Kirsty, Scott and Mitch as Superfruit then called Black and White. It's wonderful! A great message. Please put this on your list. I know you will appreciate it too. Thanks for reacting to this one. One of my faves.
One of the fun things about watching Pentatonix new reactors is their discovery! PTX collaborated with Toddrick Hall (that dude) on this and a couple other videos. Toddrick is also very talented. I'm thinking you would enjoy some of his creations. He is VERY creative. Have fun!
Some of these songs ended up in a Home medley that was on their Home EP that they released pretty early in the Covid pandemic. Their European tour got canceled because of Covid so they went to their individual homes and decided to make music. They sang and filmed each part in their homes and their sound guy Ed Boyer and Ben Bram put it all together. There are seven songs on the EP and six of them were made into videos. That EP kept many a Pentaholic sane during lockdowns. I looked forward to their music after working 12 hour days running a grocery store and keeping my employees safe.
Great reaction!! If you enjoy the "new twist on a classic," you should definitely check out their upgrade to the Sound of Music classic, "My Favorite Things." Julie Andrews, eat your heart out. Kirsten SLAYS this song!!!
Love this, My favorite line is when Kirstie near the end adlibs "I Like Your Beard" as she comes in as the wicked witch, makes me laugh every time. That's Todrick Hall, he developed the concept and asked PTX to help bring it to life.
Love this Medley. THEY ARE AMAZING. I would love to see the group do a Broadway show together. Hopefully you will check out Superfruit's Feeling Myself.
This was posted to Todrick Hall's TH-cam channel just two months after Kirstie's 21st birthday. We are talking Babytonix here; I don't think they even had a record label at this point.
"That dude right there", is Toddrick Hall. Toddy created the whole thing, was his idea and production. He is a performer in his own right and has done other things including some PTX MEMBERS. A very clever, talented man.
Todrick Hall is from the same city as Scott, Mitch and Kirstie but was a few years ahead of them in school. He had some success in NYC on Broadway, then moved to California and was on American Idol and some other reality shows. He's a talented singer, dancer and choreographer and has had jobs on TV and with Disney. He LOVES "The Wizard of Oz" and did a project where he wrote a series of Oz-themed autobiographical songs and did an album, documentary and tour called "Straight Outta Oz".
Scott, Mitch and Kirstie do another song / video with Todrick that's a bonus track for his autobiographical album, "Straight Outta Oz" -- "Black and White". th-cam.com/video/XtzF0b7gjZQ/w-d-xo.html He does great parodies on his TH-cam channel and even has a parody of Pentatonix called "Pentatodrix".
Just wanted to congratulate you for hitting 4k! You absolutely deserve it. It's clear to see that you put your ❤ and soul and hard work into your channel. And taking on the Pentaholics never hurts😂 We are loyal and eager to share all we know about PTX with anyone willing to listen. The journey never gets old. 💜💙🩵💚💛
If you like Todrick's "Wizard of Ahhs ft Pentatonix, you should check out Todrick Hall's similar Wizard of Oz concept called "Straight Outta Oz" which features original songs from him on a visual album detailing his life and getting into the industry. It is def worth the watch, it touches on still very much relevant issues. Also, not sure how no one really mentions it but you should check out Pentatonix's cover of Kiiara's song "Gold"! the original is worth listening to off recording to really appreciate how PTX covers it
Love seeing your reactions and congrats on hitting 4k!!!! This one is so fun and they are all so talented. Next suggestion: Dance of the sugarplum fairy World: Acappela can't cover songs with no words Pentatonix: Hold my beer World: My bad, here is your Grammy
The song choices, the vocals, the costumes, ( the men were particularly Kevin had some interesting outfits 😂 ) and the creativity are amazing. The editing for the final product is impressive. I really like this but think it should be a PTX song after a person has seen quite a few. If this was someone's first video of watching PTX it might be a little odd for them. I love it. ❤
Todrick Hall is the Wizard in this video. And if you loved this, please react to Todrick Hall (feat. Superfruit) Black & White. I think you'll love it also!
I just found your channel and I'm going to write this on every video. I truly think you have to watch the Sing Off with the Judges comments. They were so raw and still fire. My favorites are "Love Lockdown" and the "Dog Days are Over". As a producer, I think you'll go mad for "Love Lockdown".
Preferably watch all of them in order, and be sure to catch both the introductions and the judges' comments afterwards. I can give you links if you need them. It's utterly fascinating watching the way they grew over just ten weeks. They started out dancing badly to songs that needed no dancing at all and by their 12th performance they'd become master choreographers. And the entire time they were having to push back against some rules that the producers had instituted for the specific purpose of squelching any real revelation of Mitch's true range, because the producers feared that it would make people ask whether Mitch is gay. (Yes, he is, but that has nothing to do with his voice.) It was a direct continuation of the bullying Mitch had received in high school, except that this was being done by adults in a position of authority, and in effect it was directed at the whole band. They finally managed the world's first Mitch slap in their twelfth performance, and it turned Shawn Stockman, of Boyz II Men, into the world's first pentaholic. And it wasn't even close to the top of Mitch's range.
Love this! They might be the most talented, inventive 5 people on the planet. And now I have two others to watch: Todrick Hall & Wolli (sorry if I just butchered your name 😢.)
You would be surprised how many people have never seen _The Wizard of Oz._ I've gotten to the place where, when I'm recommending "The Wizard of Ahhhs" I warn reactors to watch _The Wizard of Oz_ first, because I'm so tired of hearing "Wait! Where did the Oompa Loompas come from?" when the Lollipop Guild appears.
I didnt like how they had Kevin as the dog I was angry when I saw that I knew they wanted him to be in every scene but his beatboxing could have been in the scenes and then he could have been the wicked witch or the wizard I just felt that he got treated like crap because he was crawling on his knees like do they not realize how inappropriate that was even if he was okay with it that it's still inappropriate i would've felt so humiliated and disrespected
The disrespect is real. I knew it from the beginning. When you did the shoutout. And the video starts out saying. Todrick Hall production, featuring Pentatonix. And if you know anything about Pentatonix’s time line. You know that they couldn’t afford to do a production like that, that early in their career. And you didn’t even know Trodrick when he appeared. You are just giving credit for his work to someone else. So disrespectful.

He didn't go to the same school. He attended another high school in the same district.
@Cheryl Howe , I had always heard same school. I stand corrected.
@@ellenhulslander2897 He is older if you google him. He knew them from local theater.
@@ellenhulslander2897 no problem. Lots of people get it wrong.

Totally agree ❤
Yep!
Didn’t Kevin do,all the beatboxing
I agree 100%!
@@lesismor54 Sure, but everyone else gets a vocal solo.

Todrick was supremely generous to kirsty in this, 3 roles she played and 60% of singing at least, and she slayed at everything
The attention to detail here is just amazing! All credit to Todrick and PTX for this collab.
Highly recommend their original “Sing!” It was adapted for use for Thursday Night Football one year and it’s 🔥!

The talent and creativity of these people is off the charts.
PTX has original songs too. Yes the wrote & performed their own songs.
I love "Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy" I also love "Gold". Both are amazing!
Mitch and Scott Superfruit doing Wicked if you havent heard it you will be amazed

TALENTED PEOPLE ALERT & so creative using modern songs to tell the story of the Wizard of Oz (Ahhs) ❤️🔥🙌
So creative! You are so right! New songs, older movie👍🏻👍🏻
OMG you reacted to this!!! What a gift. Thank you
Todrick Hall is amazing!!!!
This is definitely one of my favorites to watch reactors do. I knew you would love it. How could you not😉
Lol
Natural Disaster and Hey Mama/Hit the Road Jack where Avi blows the speakers aren't played as much but they are awesome, both live. Avi shines!😅

Todrick did another colab with PTX named Black and White which you should definitely go and see.
Imma check it out
Love your vibration
Thanks so much
Great reaction . Thx for another PTX 😀
You might want to view Pentontix - Stars Wars tribute 2015 AMA's. It shows still another side of the group. The 3:50 minute one is the best.
