Journaling with my favorite fountain pens help me both mentally, and spiritually. I've also read that Journaling also helps prevent the onset of dementia and memory loss.

I love the Midori notebooks too, esp with fountain pens. I also use it for charcoal and oil pastels. For my A6 one, I ordered a goatskin cover. I also use the Rhodia, in various formats. Right now I am experimenting with the Moleskine however the paper while feeling great, and having many style options, is limited by which pen/ink combo one can use. At the end of the day, I prefer fountain pens and ink. The Leuchtturm has a fountain pen friendly paper now but geez it's $37! I am going to try the Travellers Company TNs for all my journal/planning needs for 2024. And I will use the Midori notebooks for longer form writing sessions. Your videos are helping me feel confident among all the options out there. Thanks.

Great points. I'm looking to expand into the A6 for writing my poetry although perhaps a perfect opportunity to use my passport TN cover that's sitting unused at the moment! My trick for Leuchtturms is to buy them at Indigo around Christmas time because they'll have anywhere from 30-50% discounts! Thanks for sharing!

Great video! Thank you. I use a Traveler’s Notebook system, especially when traveling but for daily journaling I use the Decomposition Book. I enjoy the quality of the paper and size. I also use a Leuchtturm to daily record my food and weight.

My favourites of all time - Design Y tomoe river notebooks; Traveller's Notebook regular; William Hannah A5; Paper Republic A5 portfolio; GoodINKPressions tomoe river books inside the TN and in a B5 size. 👍🏻😄

Hey Richard, Thanks for sharing. None of those brands are available where I live (with the exception of the Traveler's Notebook Regular). I'm going to have check these out. Take care and have a lovely day!

New to the travelers company tn. Just bought a passport but not in my possession yet. My first love was the stalogy in A6 size that I house in a superior labor black cover. My notebook wasn’t too expensive but for me, going from a $1 composition book to a $16-$20 notebook housed in a cover that I paid almost $100… 😂 I went all in! My wife thought I was insane lol.

Lol! My wife went through a similar journey with me when I first started. She's now on board and she thought I was nuts at first. Now she's an addict herself :)

Voyager notebooks, by Peter Pauper Press. Much cheaper than Traveller's Company, vegan covers, serviceable and attractive. The leather Traveller's Co. notebooks are made in Thailand I believe. I don't imagine the slaughterhouses in Asia are any better than those in Europe or the US, and likely even worse, so I'm happy to be able to avoid them. But the concept of the traveller's notebook is great. I was hooked when I discovered it for the first time. Interesting video, thanks.

I love the Traveler's notebook concept but I balk at the price! Last week I found a brand new Danier leather passport cover at a thrift shop for $4, so I put a TN weekly and a blank notebook in there. I'm still working on using it regularly (I don't have a desk job so carrying it around isn't so easy), but I'm trying! For anyone else who finds the price tag daunting, I recommend looking for a simple passport cover (if that size works for you). I want to track down a second one for my TN sketch book and watercolour notebook. Yes, I bought the notebooks long before I had a place to put them!

I’ve been using the A5 Leuchtturm lined notebooks for my daily journal for a few years now but I also have the standard size TN (as well as a passport size.) I just took a trip and used myTN which worked out great! I’d never had a separate journal for travel before but I think I will continue to do so. It ends up being its own special keepsake from the trip.
I’m currently on year 3 in my Midori 5 year and I love it too. Once you get past the first year it’s so interesting to see what happened on each date in previous years.
I also have a Stalogy notebook that I use for random things. Thanks for sharing your favourites!

This was SO interesting to watch! 😊 Very excited for discovering your channel: No rambling, your voice is SO nice to listen to, you're so eloquent btw! And it's just nice to discover new stationary throughout your channel bc you're so advanced in this 😊
I don't know why I've got the "basic" A5 Midori Notebook that late: I 100% agree with you: It is just AWESOME! ❤ Works with EVERY (fountain) pen i own, the paper quality is so great, i almost prefer it to the 68g Tomoe River Paper (unfortunately way too many brands only offer their planners / notebooks only in the "famous" 52g Tomoe River Paper - hope that's going to change someday... 😕 But thankfully there's the "Take a Note" planner 🙏🏼 Actually I'm not that into vertical layouts, but it's an "2 days on 1 page" - layout so there's enough space to write. Plus that lovely, high quality softcover & the nice optical appearance makes it SUCH AN EXCELLENT planner ❤)
Your Galen Leather Zip Cover looks GORGEOUS with the Patina (have to copy your little "trick" with adding a charm with a nice ribbon into the middle 🥰 )
I've found the most PERFECT folio for the Midori A5 and ruined it after only a few days 🙈 I almost cried (😂) bc buying from Baum-Kuchen when you're based in Germany is SO freaking expensive 🙈 I was so happy that I've FINALLY got the BK x TSL "All Leather" A5 Folio (the one with the brass nibs) - now I have to find a way to "save" it... 🙈 Already applied some "Renapur" leather balm (by far the best I've tried yet 🙏🏼) and laying it onto my window shelf to fasten the Patina process - already helped a BIT but the dark spot is STILL visible so I've decided to go crazy with it, chose some stamps (going for some "ink splashes") and puke some holes in it to like cover the dark mark with a "Superior Labor" leather tag... I THINK the result could be quite good, at least it's a personalized cover after that 😅 THOUGH I'd prefer to have it in the condition as it arrived... gosh the TSL leather just feels and looks BEAUTIFUL ❤
Okay... my comment got WAY to long, have to come to an end 🙈 ONE LAST THING:
I never saw a RHODIA notebook i liked, there was always something about it i disliked BUT the "composition notebook"... wow! I'm REALLY impressed! 😮 Looks nice, comes with a sturdy softcover, 5mm - good visible grid 🙏🏼 (looked like 5mm, going to take a look / order one now) - overall it seems like SUCH a nice notebook, NEED to try it 😅
Hope you're doing well! 😊 SO excited to go through the videos on your channel 🥰 Greetings from Germany 😊👋🏼

Greeting @MiaWallace361. Thank you so much for your very kind words and feedback. Glad you're finding value through these videos and happy to have you along for my stationery journey. I've been eyeing the BKxTSL A5 Folio. Perhaps someday as I'm starting to get in danger of acquiring more notebook covers than I know what do with...
Warm wishes and have a wonderful day!

Like you I love the Midori A5 notebooks and keep the current one in my Galen Leather cover but I also put it in a MD Clear Notebook Cover - A5. Keeps the current notebook protected - finish a book and then move it to new one. For less than $7 it is worth it.

I love how your leather has patina on both the standard size and passport size my friend!! When you look at the travelers notebook is really a one time purchase. Unless your like me and I have been buying every single travelers notebook cover that I can find Lol. I still have my Pan Am Blue edition unopened with my plan of using it when I travel to Japan. Finding the inserts , you can really get them from anywhere. The Midori paper is excellent. I’ve been a big fan of the Midori travels notebook since I first discovered in 2016. You can always make your own leather cover if you want but it’s not the same as opening that beautiful, simple, packaging and pulling out out of the canvas bag that beautiful leather travelers notebook. Happy Travels! 🎉🎉
