Twitching Jig

This is an adaptation of the standard twitching jig you find in stores. But unlike the commercially available jigs, I tie mine in a way that the center or middle of the jig gives the fish an almost translucent look. In my experience, baitfish fly patterns that have a translucent look to them perform better. Which makes sense, if you look at baitfish underwater they have a translucent look. You can tie them in any color to suit and on any weight jig head. I have had great success with rainbows, brown trout, bull trout, salmon and bass. You can also fish them differently. You can make it act like a baitfish, crawfish or the standard twitch used when salmon fishing.
Hook: 1/16oz jig head
Tail: Barred tan rabbit zonker strip
Rib: Medium ultra wire
Body: Silver halo tinsel
Thorax: Brown olive sparkle chenille
Flash: Copper sparkle brush
Hackle: Tan grizzly saddle hackle
Legs: Brown silly legs
