How to Cleanup and Fix 3d models - 3ds Max - Tips

Hello
I've spent years fixing models.Too many years to be honest :D
But whether I have had to fix other peoples models or have made mistakes of my own, I mostly use the 10 steps contained in this video to fix it.
This video is not meant to fix Uv's, just meshes only.

Thank you for sharing that video. I've spent almost 3 days trying to fix a problem with a material map appearing on a basic element but not on a more intricate element. I attached a simple box as you suggested at the end of the video and it's now working...what a relief. Thanks again :)

When extruding sometimes there is this hard to fix issue of hidden double faces. Double elements are easy to fix as you shown, but double faces aren't. The vertices of this type of issue also don't want to weld, I am looking how to weld straightly the faces hmm...

So there was this method of cleaning useless geometry which I knew of but forgotten.
Basically you had some sort of modifier that deleted all useless verts/lines on flat surfaces that were not needed. I wish I could find it again but I can't, do you know what I'm talking about?

hello i have a problem with a mesh. I have a model where the mesh isn't together. So if I select an area in the mesh and move it, it comes off the model. So the mesh is not solid. Can you help me please.

select the whole polygons and hit auto smooth
