Cichlid Chick awesome. he will get there. I think this guy is just probably the dominant male of his group of fry. he's grown faster than any cichlid I've ever had. I did an unboxing video of him at 5 inches like 5 or 6 months ago and he's already 9 inches

Very nice , question big Adam mine is almost 6" but I don't see much of any color or egg spots on him. Only reason I think it's a male is because of behavior, never kept them so I don't know if a female would chase other fish around?
Mac2437 I wouldn't be super concerned if it's chasing other fish. mine just started to get egg spots around 6 inches. you can also look for the dorsal and anal fins to start growing into points. the females fins stay roundish
Hey Adam. Big fan here in Brooklyn, N.Y. I've noticed in your recent vids that your Bucco Noto is no longer in your show tank (220 gallon). Did you sell him off? If you did move him out, I'm wondering if it was due to his aggression. I am currently raising about 25 juveniles; looking to keep a dominant male for a 265 show tank. Gorgeous fish, but the potential for them to be tank assholes seems to be an issue. Any of your feedback(or anyone else) will be appreciated.
hi brian, I appreciate you watching. I sold him to a friend that had a bigger tank. wasn't really have any issues. I don't find notos any more aggressive than most other large haps. if you're growing out 25 you'll probably have to sell males as u go, they will start fighting for territory
Jason Lewis they can be tough to find. I was pissed my 10 inch hawk died recently. your best bet is SEC German pre order, and sometimes quinnsfins.com has Christyi males available

richard negron they can take a long time to color, just be patient, my nototaenia didn't show any color until nearly 7 inches
