Those dressers came out gorgeous & the handles are so unique. Thanks for video tapping your work & sharing w us. Lauren, your calming voice & teaching skills are like a calgone moment to me. Thank you for being who you are. 🫠🩷💫
Lauren, I got married in 1968 and we bought a beautiful bedroom set just like this set! Our handles were just a bit different. Still have 1 night stand, rest was passed on over the years. Still love this style! Excited to see how you restore these pieces........oh they are so pretty! Great job!
Beautiful furniture! My mother in law purchased this set in 1981 new. I have it now and it’s a pretty dresser. Wish you lived closer as having it painted like that would be nice.
You always seem to get the combo right. Staining, painting, raw wood - your pieces are always beautiful. Your process is meticulous and that make such a big difference. You can see how passionate you are about getting it perfect. The handles work so well with your colour choice. If I lived in your area, I would definitely be looking out for your work on Marketplace! Keep up the great work 😀
Beautiful! I love painted French Provincial furniture. I’ve done several small pieces. Right now I’m working on a FP sofa/entryway table and have painted it a deep dark green, I painted the top, but could not get a smooth finish! So I decided to use DB Voodoo gel satin in Tobacco Road, but it looks more like paint than stain. I think I’m going to change to DB’s no pain gel stain in Walnut.
I also love working on French provincials! They are timeless and elegant. I personally love a 2 tone look with paint and stain. I really loved your makeover when you completely striped back the old finish and did a light paint wash. I’m writing this as you are cleaning so I’m sure whatever you choose to do will be fantastic. Love your work! ❤
I think they turned out beautifully! I wasn't sure about the color at first but after seeing the finished product I wouldn't have done anything differently. I'm sure learning a lot from you, and I've got pieces from my parents that I may attempt to refinish. Wish me luck!
I fairly sure that I would do whatever I thought was best for ME and the piece. Just do what ever you want. You bought, You own it , it is yours not anyone else. My best, Katie
Omg! I caught you so early! I love your videos. They really inspire me and teach me so much. I can’t wait to makeover my dresser using all your tips and tricks. 💝✨💝
Paint wash body & natural top. I voted for 90% Smokey Mount & 10% Badlands. I like your choice. I'm glad you didn't added gold rub. They turned out beautiful.
Re: choice of degreaser Would not use a dish soap because most of them have a lotion/oil additive to keep hands from drying out which is why I use it for cleaning a CPAP mask.
I always think nothing is more beautiful than what God has made and I love good wood. That being said not every wood is “good” wood. Growing up our dining room suite was a painted French Provincial style. The base paint color was a cream and topped with a heavyish brown glaze. Mom also had a living room chair that was painted the same with purple velvet seat and back. I loved and still have that chair lol Bottom line, if you can change that yellow finish with a warmer tone-great! If not then paint. French provincial always makes me think of lots of gilding. Look up some pictures of Versailles. ❤️
This set is absolutely beautiful! It truly is one of my favorite sets. My favorite furniture is provincial, and that is exactly my favorite color, it’s so beautiful ❤️
I love that you went with Badlands and kept the wood on the top! I also love that this color allows the unique curves and style to show through so much better than the darker wood stain, where the style was lost in all that woodgrain. I think it would be interesting to see some stained woodgrain in some of the recessed areas of the legs too. Outstanding pieces, Lauren!!
Love the color choice. The undertones give it such a gorgeous range for a neutral❤❤❤. The darker stain really adds the extra warmth needed. The price point is perfect, you might even be able to get a bit more. Like 1500, that would give you a little wiggle room, but you know your market❤❤❤. Great video, and beautiful job😊😊
🙋♀️I am the weirdo that removes hardware. Everything gets grimy around the handles-especially in kitchens/bathriims. I will periodically remove the hardware especially in high use places. Also give attention to door handles/electric switches and you won’t feel like you need to repaint the house so much. Those areas catch your eye as you notice the dirt/oils which alter the color. Those kind of things make me hate my paint color so much faster. Love the dressers. Always happy to see what you choose to do with *your* furniture 😊
I just started watching the video and I say that if you do paint it, I vote for white with gold accents. But, as always, whatever you decide is something that I will like. Trust your judgement and the process.
Hello Lauren, so Ive been watching your channel for a bit and I enjoy your work very much. As far as this project, not so sure about the color you chose, but whatever color you use, I might like to use the same stain as used on the top and light wash it over these 2 pieces to show up all those curves and carved wood features in these pieces
The furniture turned out so pretty !! I was originally hoping you would do a navy blue with a touch of grey and a sheen top …. But I do love the look you created ❤ Your pricing could even be a bit higher - its quality brand well built furniture , and your refresh of it looks very professional 👍❤️
thanks, I don't think my market can support much higher than this with it only being 2 pieces...maybe if I had nightstands that would be feasible! thanks for watching!
what a bargain you received. In 1968 I bought solid wood Thomasville bedroom set ( headboard, 2 night stands, tall chest and dresser) for $1000 on sale. Whoever buys your set is getting a great deal on the pieceset $1000 since it is 55 years old and in such great condition. Love the outcome.
I'd take the current finish off, do a light wash and then clear wax it or clear water based poly it for protection. But regardless that's me, you do you! Inspiring!! xx
I still have my French provencial style bedroom set with the exception of the canopy bed - it didn't survive the last move. I vote for painted with this style. Staining the top is definitely an option I'd consider. I can hardly wait to see what you do with this set!
I head recently that wood times in furniture are coming back. Is that true? I am still crushing on painted furniture. I think leaving the top wood and painting the rest would be lovely.
Absolutely live the set and what you did! Just wondered what it would look like with the drawers and top in the dark wash and the bad lands or the blue on the carcass?
Thomasville and Eathon Allen were the two top names when I was growing up, oh yes, and Drexel. These are gorgeous. In our area you could add a $1000 to this set and it would go fast! These turned out so beautifully. For myself I would have gone one shade darker on top but that's just my preference. You will sell them I am sure! I so love these. Wish I lived in Omaha again. Seattle is a bit far for me now. LOL Great job and thank you for re-loving what is so beautiful on these older styles and the quality is amazing! Blessings
I love the French provincial pieces painted with the tops just refinished and left wood. I just did 2 different pieces for other people and also kept the original hardware. Blinged up the hardware with some gold Guilding wax. They are sturdy pieces of furniture. One I did black and the other a dark denim blue color. Both looked beautiful when done
Stained top & painted bottom is what I automatically envision when it comes to French provincial. Can't wait to see what you do. I know it'll be amazing!
I loved your combination of the two colors. I’ve been watching your channel for quite a few many years now and I always look forward to see what you are going to do next.
I think I would take it down to raw wood and then decide. When I see French Provincial, I always think of a creamy white. I’m curious to see what you do, as your furniture always looks fantastic!
My goodness girl…my mouth literally dropped…I was totally going for $2000. This is a unique piece and you put a lot of work a creativity into it. So beautiful ❤
Thank you! I'm so glad you love it! i would love to get that much out of these but unfortunately , unless I start shipping, i don't think my market will go that high! thanks for watching!
I would do a darker stain for sure and golden handles. I started flipping furniture because of you and it has been such a fun ride! Just got my surf prep sander so my next goal is doing a French provincial. Thanks for being an inspiration ❤
Happy 2025🎉French Provincial is my favorite ❤️ my thoughts usually are paint if the furniture is yellow originally and if wood try to refinish/restain/restore
I agree with you that French Provincial is the style that always looks good painted. And the handles must always stay with the piece.
always a must!
I love when the top is stained and the body painted. Like a dark /navy/ black with a walnut too. I love that look.
I agree 100% with you. Those are beautiful.
@@cherylbook885 when I get the courage to redo a piece of my own furniture, that’s what I want. I love that look !!!
You paid for it. Don’t worry about what others say. Make yourself happy. You always do an amazing job.
She's selling it. It's not about what makes her happy, but what customers want in the end.
Apparently she knows what sells.
I would paint it and a different colour on the top.
P.s. Your price is on point!!!
Those dressers came out gorgeous & the handles are so unique. Thanks for video tapping your work & sharing w us.

That is so cool! I love how these pieces last generations. bring it on over to NE and I'll paint it for ya!

Keep up the great work 😀
Back when you were working out of your parents garage, you did a French provincial dresser and left it "raw." It looked gorgeous.
Oh yes, I remember that project! It was a beauty even without the paint. 😊
You softened the look beautifully. Stunning.😊
Gorgeous results and masterfully done! Love the colors you chose.
Love that dark stain with the lighter neutral color. Gorgeous and A-plus for the teacher!
You really brought this furniture into the present. Before it looked tired and dated. Excellent.

Thanks! I love the two-tone look too! hope you enjoyed the final products!
I think this turned out really pretty. This was the perfect color for this set. The paint technique makes it look very Country French.
Good choice on keeping the hardware. I was doubting it but the solid color actually made the shape pop and I became a believer❤
I think they turned out beautifully! I wasn't sure about the color at first but after seeing the finished product I wouldn't have done anything differently. I'm sure learning a lot from you, and I've got pieces from my parents that I may attempt to refinish. Wish me luck!

They turned out beautiful love them.❤
Looks fabulous! Gorgeous. ❤
Those are stunning! Awesome choice of color combo! ❤
Those handles are gorgeous!
I think I’d try a dark stain over the whole thing - like a black stain. And then make the handles golden.
Oh man, I love what you did!! Gorgeous. ❤
Beautiful! The only thing you would have maybe done differently is to strip to row wood and stain the trim around the top...
Paint wash body & natural top. I voted for 90% Smokey Mount & 10% Badlands. I like your choice. I'm glad you didn't added gold rub. They turned out beautiful.
You’ve always done a great job with these sets. I’m leaning towards raw wood look BUT I am a sucker for a beautiful black paint job! 😎🦋
Excellent and great price. Good for you. Hope you get every penny!

Lobe the color you painted and it looks so great with the tine of the hardware.
Hi Lauren, absolutely beautiful set!
Great job! They are beautiful thanks
This set is absolutely beautiful! It truly is one of my favorite sets. My favorite furniture is provincial, and that is exactly my favorite color, it’s so beautiful ❤️
Yes, and if you want the current 'moody' look, which I'm loving, a tiny tinge of mauve or lavender undertone is just the ticket.
I’m so glad you like it! I love provincial furniture too!
I love that color combo! The top just brought the paint color to life…I think it gave it some richness if that makes sense. Excellent job!! 🦋
totally makes sense! thanks for the kind words!
Beautiful Lauren ❤

I have two similar pieces and a vanity from White Company. I love it but needs some work.
thank you! Appreciate you watching !
It is always a treat to see your vision come to life. Beautiful work.
You set a good price for the quality of furniture. Love it.❤

Lauren…such a beautiful job! One of my favorites!
thank you! me too!
Love it when you do French provincial pieces. ❤ Every single one has turned out beautifully!!
Thanks, I love working with those pieces too! 😊
Beautiful as always! I have French provincial end tables in my garage, and I haven't known what to do with them, but you gave me some very good ideas.
Thanks for watching! I hope you love how your end tables turn out!
Yum, they make me think of Butter Pecan ice cream, a delicious classic!
They turned beautiful. I like the color. I love how the curves on the drawers looks like they have stripes.

It's a beautiful set! If it were mine, I'd paint the dressers like a sage green and leave the top and drawers natural 🥰
Stunning result!
Great job as always!
I either like white or a tannish stain/color wash

totally agree! it will be a steal but as long as someone loves it im okay with this price (:
Wish Lauren was in my state!..you would be the only person I would trust to paint my grandmothers piece..made in St. Louis think from the 40s❤
bring it on over to NE and I'd be happy to help (:
@ god I wish I’m in Missouri
Lauren, you did an amazing job. This is absolutely stunning!

I’d paint it. I love painted furniture. Turned out beautifully! I absolutely love it.
Looks amazing
I head recently that wood times in furniture are coming back. Is that true? I am still crushing on painted furniture. I think leaving the top wood and painting the rest would be lovely.
yes, definitely true BUT i think painted furniture will always have its place for sure!
Leave the top and paint the rest you've done that before and always looks amazing 😍
Beautiful ❤as always! Great price too
I would keep the wood color because, of course, I'm thinking of it for my space (and my space loooooves wood tones).
Absolutely live the set and what you did! Just wondered what it would look like with the drawers and top in the dark wash and the bad lands or the blue on the carcass?

Well done!!! It looks wonderful ❤❤🎉🎉
I'm so happy with how it turned out!
Beautiful!!
I love this color. This is the color I leaning towards for my china cabinet.
If the next person wants to change it they can! It’s only paint. I love a painted and raw wood combo
Great job!!!
My goodness girl…my mouth literally dropped…I was totally going for $2000. This is a unique piece and you put a lot of work a creativity into it. So beautiful ❤

Very elegant and glam
SO ELEGANT ❤❤❤🐝🐝
Stunning 😊
They turned out beautifully. I would have priced them at least $1800. In some Markets $2500. At $2500 they are a steal!💖💖💖💖
Paint it. I love painted furniture
It’s beautiful
So so pretty
I would do a darker stain for sure and golden handles. I started flipping furniture because of you and it has been such a fun ride! Just got my surf prep sander so my next goal is doing a French provincial. Thanks for being an inspiration ❤
That is awesome! super glad you got into flipping and are loving it! the SP is a game changer! good luck finding some frenchies! (:
Is the mist before the Lilly Moon gel stain a water mist? Or a solvent. Absolutely beautiful❤.
Water mist
