The cool thing about fallout is that it has 2 aesthetics going on, post apocalyptic mad max style, and 1950s retro futurism. Its why we hear the ink spots throughout the trailer. The combination of both aesthetic really makes fallout stand out compared to other post apocalyptic games
Fallout Games Timeline for Context: Fallout - 2161 (Southern California) Fallout 2 - 2241 (Northern California) Fallout 3 - 2277 (Washington, D.C.) Fallout New Vegas - 2281 (Mojave Desert) Fallout 4 - 2287 (Boston) Fallout TV - 2296 (California Area) Out of all these games I'd say Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas would have more connections to this show simply because of them being set close together within California or bordering States. Both Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 are set on the East Coast BUT we do see a Brotherhood of Steel airship and East Coast Brotherhood of Steel flags depicted in Fallout 3 so I can see this being the only connection we have to the East Coast games. But for the most part all these games are there own stand alone stories each with a fresh new character and story. Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 are more connected with you playing as the Great Grand Son/Daughter of The Vault Dweller from Fallout 1. While Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 are connected with both D.C and Boston being pretty close together meaning certain characters from Fallout 3 made there way to Boston and showed up in Fallout 4. But beyond that the two games aren't really connected. Fallout New Vegas being set in the Mojave Desert allows past events, more so from Fallout 2 to be brought up. Also returning factions from the classic games returns an overall the lore of the West Coast has it's origins in those classic Fallout games so it's only natural they'll be connections. Will be the case for the TV show as well.
If you're a long time fallout fan I've got some bad news for you. This show completely disregards pre existing canon and lore, and Todd has confirmed it's canon. It's like Bethesda's taking a massive shit on Black Isle Studio right now
“Retro-futurism” is what most fans called it Essentially take the world of what folks in the 1950s thought the future would look like…then blow it up!!
A small explainer about the world (in the games, anyway): Fallout takes place on an alternate earth where the microchip was never invented (so computers stayed very large), but nuclear technology went much further than we have (they have portable fusion reactors that power the power armor, for example), and their robotics are more advanced in terms of AI but physically very influenced by the lack of miniaturization. The ambience is very much late 1950s to early 1960s America. Very Leave It To Beaver and My Three Sons-esque in terms of fashion. Less so in terms of sensibilities as there are many openly gay and interracial couples. The nuclear event was a war with China. Different factions vie for power, but their influence varies geographically.
Can't wait to see this show! I've played Fallout 3, 4, New Vegas and 76. I love the humor and storytelling in this post apocalyptic universe. I hope it's going to be good.
This show looks like absolute fire, the tone, look, and feel is perfectly capturing Fallout. Pair it with a solid story and this should be a great show.

Two factions exist to reclaim America being the brotherhood of steel and enclave. BoS was formed by remnant military when the government abandoned the ppl still left on the surface so they formed up to protect them, reclaim america but also lock away dangerous weapons that caused the state rhey live in now. Enclave is remnant government officials wish to reclaim america and rebuild it exactly to what it was before bombs fell which ppl don’t want. Same time enclave research new tech including extend own life through machinery and artificial intelligence. A third major faction is new California republic. The ncr is a new joint government between California, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico which is the one with most government presence in wasteland America. BoS and NCR are always fighting while enclave is trying to find ways to manipulate them . Now the vaults are not perfect since good amount of them are experimental. I really hope is good. I am a huge fan of the game series and all I have seen here seems like a love letter to the fans. The story itself doesn't really need to follow the games, since those all have different stories, but staples like a Nuke, Vaults, Vault Boy, Vault Dwellers, Stim packs, Power Armor, The Brotherhood of Steel, Ghouls, Dogmeat, and it sounds like Stephen Russell is voicing the Mister Handy robot? What's not to like!

I look forward to the new story in the FO world and seeing everything realized "IRL". And also seeing it back on the West Coast. Thanks for the great reaction!
I dont know how much will cary over (this being an amazon show... but who knows) but generally old world "capitalism" is the bad guy in Fallout universe as a hole... or facism if there doing the Enclave ark. I do wonder how deep they will go... Because the Fallout Univers has Opions and it is not subtle in most of the games (give or take)
Do you think Amazon MGM Studios does it well in the Fallout Series? I am very worried after what they did with the Lord of the Rings series, what Amazon MGM Studios did 😞
It's different people running it, and there's a lot of details in the trailer that shows they're respecting the IP. Not to mention they're not adapting an existing story like LOTR, rather creating a new one in an existing universe. But as usual i'm going to be cautiously optimistic.
liked it the first time or two I watched it. but the more i rewatch it the more woke failure it feels. And i HATE that work woke. its the word of a crap party...but still feels that way sadly.

@@VORASTRA NCR formed by Fallout 2!
@@devinc9 actually it was formed in Fallout 1 ending slide show, if you save the future president of NCR. It doesn't mean much since too much years have passed in the wasteland to continue stories from Fallout 2 times.
Well my favourite 3 and I played New Vegas, 4 & 76 have try the older games but didn't get on well because of them be turn base games and I really bad at those kind of games
I've been playing Fallout games for years, ever since FO3 came out. I've now played all of them and my fave is FO4 but mostly for Sim Settlements 2 and all the other amazing mods (Fallout London mod next month!!). I know many people prefer FONV, and I do enjoy it but FO4 simply has more options these days.
This trailer look so amazing and true, at least aesthetically.
Because the Fallout Univers has Opions and it is not subtle in most of the games (give or take)
i like fallout new vegas, the people recommend me to play new vegas and that was good, i enjoy played that game ❤❤
Hope you two are having an great and awesome day ❤
What’s the thing with post apocalyptic stories. Depressing as hell
Fits your life 😆
Do you think Amazon MGM Studios does it well in the Fallout Series?
I am very worried after what they did with the Lord of the Rings series, what Amazon MGM Studios did 😞
It's different people running it, and there's a lot of details in the trailer that shows they're respecting the IP. Not to mention they're not adapting an existing story like LOTR, rather creating a new one in an existing universe.
But as usual i'm going to be cautiously optimistic.
Big mistake not playing the game
yall need a new name or delay the vids some haha no longer late to the party like ever
liked it the first time or two I watched it. but the more i rewatch it the more woke failure it feels. And i HATE that work woke. its the word of a crap party...but still feels that way sadly.
How can you make such shit and ruin an iconic game with it?This is not a series but a properly political odyssey...America is ending. Finally!
