Hi Richard that was truly amazing video, well worth waiting for I can see why you waited so long, your dedication and field craft truly out standing well done Richard for making such an amazing video thank you for sharing it with us.Martyn
Glad you enjoyed it Martyn, It was great just to be in that location and considering I didn't get any frame fillers I left a happy man! Thanks for saying, always kind of you to say. Cheers Rich 😀👍
I agree the Loon looks fascinating to study ! The atmosphere of location looks great & scenic ! And to know you have to put a lot of time & field craft to get any sighting of the Loon makes any photo or film of it so special! Great post Richard 👍🎥
Totally agree my friend, it was a lovely quiet and chilled spot and to be fair it was a bit of a big ask, lol... Small-ish bird in a big lake! Yeah, but I love putting the time and what makes it so much fun. Cheers R👍
I totally get your fascination with the loon. They are such beautiful birds, I hope you got your closeup view before you left that gorgeous location. Very impressed at your patience, especially in that heat! Loved the heron too. Lovely footage. Glad the passerby didn’t call the cops on the stranger in a tent with a long lens pointed at the lakehouses! 😅 ~Dee
Thanks Dee, they are awesome aren't they! I hope so, I aim on spending much more time with them over the coming years! Yeah, it was baking in there, lol.. Yeah I did worry I might get a few people asking what I was doing! Probably thought it was a gun, lol.. Cheers R
Another great outing Richard you have the patience of a Crocodile, and I mean that as a compliment. The Loon was a hard subject to get close to the remoteness was the birds ally. I’m sure you and your family had plenty of quality time together. Next episode Surfs up Dude 🤙 lol ..
Glad you enjoyed it Stuart, lol, didn't realise Croc's were so patient!! Yeah they are a tricky one but so worth it, maybe my close encounter will come one day! For now I am happy with the memory. Yep, on the water but WHY?? See you in the next one. Have a good week, Rich 👍
Hey Richard, it looks like a great time out for a shoot even for a few hours. It seems to never fail that someone comes by at the moment something might happen. And spook your subject. I am curious about the color difference between your vlogging camera and your Canon camera. The footage and still photos of the Canon are washed out and not as clean and vibrant as the vlogging camera. Have you noticed it, or is it just me? Greg

Hey Greg, It's been a while and it's great to hear from you my friend. Yeah, typical when it happens after a long wait, lol... Sorry about that, not sure why but might be as I was shooting video with the 1DX III rather than my R3 which was away for servicing.. Maybe it will be better next time. Cheers Rich 👍
Another fine example of your undying patience, Richard. Well done!!
Many thanks Phil, much appreciated my friend. R👍
The elusive loon! What a bird ❤
Ah yes, very elusive indeed! Beautiful birds. R👍
What patience and dedication - I love your approach Richard and another wonderful video 🙂
Hey Mark, many thanks and glad you like how I do things. Might not be how everyone does it but it's good to be different. All the best Rich 👍
