I have not kept up with his new music but liked what I have from the 70s and 80s. This was the song I knew first.

This guy is so underrated. One of the best of the 70's!!!

After many years I played Alive On Arrival. Still have the vinyl and still in great shape. I just keep flipping it over and just falling in love with it again.

One of the best but underated singer/songwriters
He's up there with the Leon Russells, Jackson Brownes, Townes Van Zants, John Prines, John Haitts, etc..😊

"I'm glad to be so young talking with my tongue.." just listening to these words - and realize youth is passed, oh my gosh!

Steve is just one example of the talent that has come out of Meridian and East Mississippi. Such as Paul Davis, Jimmy and David Ruffin, Marty Stewart, Carl Jackson, Chris Ethridge, or Otis Rush. Not to mention all of the other professional people that have come from the area. Makes me proud all over again to be a native Meridianite and Mississippi and.

That's probably as good a Philadelphia, PA. And we both are dirty stinky towns yeah.

Check them out. You'll see the richness of talent that comes from this small city and area of Mississippi.

This guy deliberately avoided fame. He had to. No other explanation. This is one of the greatest live performances in music history. Imperfections and all!👊

    1. I love Steve. 2. Someone should re-make this with Washington, DC in mind as the "dirty stinking town." DC is still a massive cesspool, despite the POTUS' efforts to drain the swamp.

I was in DC for about 2 hrs waiting to transfer busses. Two blocks off of the main thoroughfares it was in slum condition then.

The beginning of the song resembles Rod Stewart's Maggie May.
OMG, Passaic. Home to the most bad-ass street-smart cop in the history of television, Sergeant Anthony Damiano.
