Derek talks about “empirical data”, so he immediately disqualifies himself from the religious conversation. I think atheism will be outgrown. You have read “the master and his emissary”, so you understand that if we collectively get back to tilting more towards our right brain hemisphere, even a little bit, we will understand that science and faith are compatible. Full integration is possible.
Empirical data has its place just as transcendental data does, I would admit. However, of course, the former can be demonstrated in a categorical manner, whereas the latter can’t. In that regard, I take issue with it but also realise empiricism has its issues. You may enjoy reading ‘Theory and Reality’ by Peter Godfrey-Smith. It’s a book on the philosophy of science, really really great.
Can you explain from where the evolution came into being or emerged or created and who is guiding and controlling the universe which is inherently unstable?
The Universe is self-organizing - no god necessary. Einstein often referred to the 'laws of Nature' as 'god'. There is evidence for all scientific laws and they work. The opposite is true for any god.
today younger generation r irreligious .this is a fact many have to accept .i m a 90s kid n many friends that i know have become aethists n they r happy with thier lives .religion is a personal choice ,it shld not be forced upon ppl .if ur religion makes u happy by all means n if ur religion oppresses u feel free to leave that religion n find another or u can always become an aethist .😎
I pray that God gives you a life of thousand years so that you can witness the religion of Prophets of God flourishing and guiding the humanity towards its greatness. Religion is not going anywhere.
You goofballs and your prophecies. It would be cute if it wasn't so sad. Living in a Dungeons and Dragons fantasy world with magic and demons and prophecy. I pity you.

No, the absence of certainty is the main difference between any religion and a trust in science. But I'm happy not having all the answers
