Really stunning match, just saw it for the first time since 12,5 years ago so many, many thanks for that. I remember emotions that got me in that match - from joy through worries after that amazing second set to relief after last ball. They both played such great all around grass court tennis. Such high-quality match with lots of drama. I loved it. Thanks a lot! As for Nadia, she seemed destined to win a slam in 2005-2006 played solid 2008 and 2012 but between that in was way, way less than expected. She was unstoppable in some 2005-2006 matches especially on clay so it seemed only a matter of time for her to win a slam. Wasn't to be. As for Agnieszka, she really was a grass-court master, even when she was so, so far from her best in 2018 she made semis here in Eastbourne. All her variety, slices, net skills and passing shots were so effective on the surface and made her serve a bit less exposed and a bit less of an issue than let's say on red dirt. I so loved her passing shots, some of them weren't at all made to pass, but to made it awkard and difficult - she was and is thinking 2-3 shots ahead, Hingis' like. What's interesting, it was just that sole match that got Radwanska into top10 for the very first time, even though two days later on her Wimbledon Centre Court debut she was seeded 15th. She was also seemed destined to win a slam one day, especially Wimbledon - she got as nearly as 4 games in 2012 and as nearly as 2 games from another final in 2013. I still can't watch that 2013 SF. At one point it didn't seem that Aga would end her career with a better outcom: she had a Grand Slam final and No. 2. Just to add to it all, Petrova is the only player to beat both Radwanska sisters in WTA finals (Aga - 2012 Tokyo and Ula - 2012 Rosmalen).
Great match! Love the tiebreak, and it seemed like Nadia was doing better in the 3rd until that crucial poor game. At one point it really seemed like Petrova was destined to win a slam. She probably would have had a chance in 2006 at the French Open (had won 3 titles on clay and beaten Henin in Berlin) but she got injured and lost in the first round.
