Hello Joel Li wonderful video I’m coming to Thailand in February this video is getting me excited for eating some amazing spicy Thai food, the market is my favourite place to wonder and eat and opening the Puffed Thai bags the smell is mouth watering, I must say listening to your Thai speaking is getting amazing keep up the good work, so interesting.
Mae Hia is almost our local fresh market, we often hit it on the way back home from down town Chiang Mai. Thanks for reminding me of the Sai Uua there, yeah, it's really good. There's chicken and beef too. "The _____ BEST in _______" is of course, subjective but, it's definitely ONE of the best Sai Uua in Chiang Mai, there's almost always a crowd waiting there. The charcoal grilling really helps. There's an Halal meat store near Wat Kate, ร้านยูบีดา that has excellent beef Sai Uua. I really want to try that Gang with the Taro leaves, never heard of that one before. I liked the other video you did at Mae Hai with Li, too, you brought your own bowls! And ate at the food court after getting the to-go bags. I'm confused with this one; did you go up the road to another place to eat? I kind of recognise the sign in the big tire. Then, the closing drone shot is down at the coast some where?
Don :) as usual, haha youve blessed me with another GREAT comment. So great actually that I quickly went to find that location and never came back to write you... Man, of all the hundreds of Sai Oua recipes, I have to admit that you are correct - and sometimes even on the day a certain recipe can hit the spot when on another day it might be too rich/too bland. I have had one in Luang Prabang, another in Chiang Mai besides this one, and finally my friend Mark swears by a recipe in Mae Sariang, so its a 4-way tie already and I've "only" been in the north for about 4 years now. Many many more, including your recommendation (thank you) to check out
Oh! one more thing, yes this was/is the market where I brought my own containers from home. Should have could have done that with Steven also but I came on the bicycle this time instead... good memory Don! (and the drone shot is to give a hint as to where the week's following video will be)

Although this market was on my must-visit-list I didn't make it But I went to warorot a few times and there is this shop there where the sai oua is insanely good🙂

@@JoelsTastyRide yes. What were the odds that I would meet you there? I think about one week later I saw you climbing Doi Suthep again while I was walking down😁
Hi Sergio! Yes, like I wrote in the video and named in the video many times, this is a "Nam Prik" (a Thai chili dip), the type of which is "Nam Prik Noom." the "noom" refers to the type of chili, a green chili that grows well in Northern Thailand.
Well I've decided to find the best "white table cloth" type of Hmong, Laotian, Thai restaurant that Fresno has to offer. I have seen too many Hmong elite that would be there and would support something like that in Fresno. I have many Hmong friends in Fresno. Time to get busy.
This is a super cool thought and a unique comment as always Vance! Good luck with this, and I have to say Im amazed that there are even options for this, let alone just one restaurant!!! Amazing place Fresno, wow.

Richard! Nice one man, yes, actually my favorite Sai Oua EVER was in Laos - it was buffalo meat - but in Thailand this place is my go-to. Yes these are always pork, but definitely common with beef, many Halal recipes use beef...
Air in bag to keep contents from getting crushed. 👍🏻
Is it like lao sausage
SoCal, one and the same man, but each province has its own flavor of course... but yes, same recipe :) same way of making it.
@@JoelsTastyRide thats fantastic, 🤘🏼
Nice
Do you eat Larb Dib? ( raw meat larb)
Hi Pksm! I have not just one but two videos of raw Laap. For health reasons only, I prefer the cooked version (or “Sa-Dung”), but yes I have eaten this dish raw many times.

That is the one!! Yes 🌟 👍🏽 ❤️
Anyone know the name of the eggplant and green chili paste he was eating?
Hi Sergio! Yes, like I wrote in the video and named in the video many times, this is a "Nam Prik" (a Thai chili dip), the type of which is "Nam Prik Noom." the "noom" refers to the type of chili, a green chili that grows well in Northern Thailand.

You can eat like normal Thai people. Looks delicious. I wonder if I have a Thai wife and my wife teaches me well...😄😍😉
Hello.. good morning
If i close my eyes and listen I feel like I'm listening to Mark WIens lol
Well I've decided to find the best "white table cloth" type of Hmong, Laotian, Thai restaurant that Fresno has to offer. I have seen too many Hmong elite that would be there and would support something like that in Fresno. I have many Hmong friends in Fresno. Time to get busy.
This is a super cool thought and a unique comment as always Vance! Good luck with this, and I have to say Im amazed that there are even options for this, let alone just one restaurant!!! Amazing place Fresno, wow.
