When each new tier starts you have to sit in your pilot seat and get right up to allow them to target you. Doing it as I type this, on T6 with 4... Make that 3... Make that 2 ships left.
I was unaware of the "debug" feature so when I saw this after hitting the road block I immediately went to the terminal. Since this my second playthrough I have stuff in ship weapons and such so finding out I can have two allies and damage/shield buffs tiers 5 and six went without a hitch. Thank you for helping out a brother in need. As far as I am concerned this tactic of using the satellite is fair game. The UC people did say they want resourcefulness and using the satellite as cover is essentially using it as a tool.
This is awesome. It's funny because if you exhaust all the dialouge options for the exam proctor he says "use all the tools presented to you" and this guide definitely showed you how. I've been loving this game. Gained a sub brother.
You can also do "advanced hacking" in the debug menu which allows you to have infinite upgrades through both rounds(at least the two you really need, you could do it round one even).
I kept doing this and then going away to level up and pit points in shields and piloting and coming back and even with hacking the debug couldn't finish tier 6... but using your strategy I did 5 and 6 without even firing any shots.. just got the ship in position and got out of the seat... that way, they could never destroy my ship... tier 6 I ended up walking away from my xbox for a while and doing something else as it took a while, but when I came back it was done. Thanks so much! I'll prolly use the same strategy on new game plus when I get there.

In tiers 4-5 you can use the asteroids for cover and wait for them to try and come around to get you to get behind them and knock them out without getting hit. In Tier 6 they just destroy the asteroids.

First it did not work at all. I was about to give up, but tried it again. Then I figured out, by accident, that it's not that important to be at that gap. It's more that the ships will not shoot you when you stand up. Then it's exactly how it's said in the video. The ships will crash one after another at that space station and you have completed the final tier without any problem. Might even work with earlier tiers?

yeah i tried to beat tier 6 with all the help i could get and managed to destroy 3 ships but i swear that level is impossible. This worked like a charm. 4/5 ships got stuck and blew up in about 10 minutes then i went out and killed the last one. thanks for the tip!
Thank you! I sat a little under the space station and started blasting when they were clear shots. Also cleared an advanced digilock for a debug ally and all-tier upgrades. Either way, sufficiently cheesed
Thanks to you video. This is how I passed: After Phase 4 and Before Phase 5. Hack the console (with advanced security perk). Activate all buffs via that terminal. Finally fight and defeat the enemies with your allies. You now have 2 of them.
I just cheesed my way right thiugh level 6. Eveytine a ship blew up i just popped back into the seat reajisted for 2 seoncds and stood back up. Took about 5 minutes for them to all collide and blow up. Thank you.
When you get out of the seat after saving I noticed you never have to sit back down they will still destroy themselves and you wont take any damage at all. The last ship did get stuck in the space station so i had to shoot him but he was the only one i shot
used your trick by exiting the seat, waiting a bit and then getting back in, i was able to get to tier 6 in no time. and whenever one of the enemy ships got destroyed by crashing into the station, i immediately quicksaved and continued then
Still works … thank you … at lvl 100 these mobs are extreme hard at very light difficulty … the own ship is too low for these enemies … but you can shoot out of the safe place of the station and if you going low on shield you can stand up an the shields regenerate … you can shoot from the safe place without engines … and stand up if you low on shields :) good trick :)
Seems like this is fixed or doesn't work on PC / very hard Update: It "works" on very hard, just takes a few hours before they deplete their HP / shields from crashing. Changed difficulty to very easy and they blew up after 2-3 crashes.

Sometimes they got stuck and I would get into the pilot seat and unload on them, but my weapons would run out and they would have hp left. I went down to very easy and they just blew up almost immediately. Ship combat on very hard needs scaled a bit better, IMO.
Confirming strategy still works as of early morning 9/13. Something weird, though... I could've sworn I only did five waves. But people did speak as if I did six waves, so... I guess I blacked out for one of them? 🤷 In any case, great video, thank for the help. 🙏

Still works 09/21/23 on xbox had to wait a bit for the last guy and you have to make sure you position your self right. You don't have to sit down but I found it riles them up a little. Thanks a million.
There is a way easier way to beat this. just go into your game play settings and turn down the enemy ship damage settings so they barely do any damage and turn up the players ship damage all the way up so the player does op damage. No hacking needed and in the end you get all good marks and you get high rewards. When your done then put the settings back to what they were.
Took a few to find the perfect spot I literally just hid in the little space station thing and when you exit the pilot seat take 0 damage and your ship doesn’t move at all wait like 10 min and they’ll all just kill the selves slowly while you take 0 damage thanks homie shit was mad hard
Wow this shit is fuckin incredible bro. Switch difficulty to very easy and you should be done within minutes. Just go to that exact spot, hop out of the seat and if their shots aren’t hitting you then just sit and wait. Brilliant!
If you want complete EZ mode, just get out of the seat and stay out till they destroy themselves. They can’t damage the ship while you’re not in the pilot seat.
I had already done this mission normally completing level 5, thought level 6 was impossible. Decided to replay it to quickly get kills to level up my piloting skill (which does work btw 😉) looks like now ill be able to get that bonus as well. Legend
It still work but you really have to find the sweet spot. You also need to get out of your seat before your hole reaches zero and your health bar goes into the red at all. Then it will automatically heal 100%
another thing i just found out about, is you can also hack the debug tool. So after going into the pilot seat. Get out go into debug tools, click on the authorized tools. The if you have the hacker perk you can hack in and enable infinite cheats inbetween waves and brin in one more ally. Thats how i beat the 6th wave after using the ally on the 5th wave
All those saying this does not work... wrong. Save scum and be in the right location. Be in the seat at start of rounds and get the many ship markers to appear, then get out of seat. Computer AI seems to think you are the middle of the station and shoot at that. Take digipicks and have one point in it and get the full praise for using ALL at your disposal.
Tier 1 - very easy; Tier 2 - very easy; Tier 3 - Easy; Tier 4 - Easy; Tier 5 - WTF? I finally cleared Tier 5, and then got to Tier 6. took out 1 ship and got WASTED. But I got my Class C from it, so I'm done. I figured Tier 6 had something to do with the station.

Every time I try this I never do enough damage at a distance and they always catch up pretty quickly, what am I doing wrong?

8 months later and it still works. Did it on tier 6 and it only took 3 minutes for 4/5 to crash and die lol

They can damage it, but they can’t target it. Any shots they have already fired will still hit before you finish getting out.

Tier 1 - very easy; Tier 2 - very easy; Tier 3 - Easy; Tier 4 - Easy; Tier 5 - WTF? I finally cleared Tier 5, and then got to Tier 6. took out 1 ship and got WASTED. But I got my Class C from it, so I'm done. I figured Tier 6 had something to do with the station.
Did you try the method of parking the spaceship ?? 🤙

You can just set the difficulty to very easy and then change it after the test.

If you hack the Advance Settings and complete the test tier -6 then you only receive 16000... 😅

What do u get for completing tier 6? I dident try to cheese the simulation and passed tier 4 easily but tier 5 was to high dps.
