    Universe-like feeling when listening to this music. Peaceful and bringing hope for good people. Someone who plays those sounds cannot be a bad guy🙂

      Thank you very much! This track was honouring memories with my late grand parents so I’m glad the feeling translates ❤️

    Lovely stuff, thanks for sharing. I'm trying to convince myself I don't need an Easel but it's not going well!

      @@jaeryan1337 We tend to compose the same kind of music. Quite a bit mournful, and soulful. I do this kind of music to bring my own emotions to the source of music. It's the only way I can communicate.

    Hi Jae. Great work on this. Thanks for sharing. A couple of questions about the Blooper. What do you think of the audio quality? Does it have an always-listening mode? How many layers of overdubbing can it take and does it affect audio quality? Cheers

    • @jaeryan1337
      @jaeryan1337  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the quality is fantastic. Very pristine if you want it to be but I generally use the stability and other “automations” to make things more tape like & lo fi. It can really nail the sound of a tape loop, it’s quite shocking. You can do SOS recording, you just need to record the loop length first and then set your repeats control to match how long you want your audio to last. This can be anything from forever to milliseconds. There’s some great videos out there showing it as a SOS looper & even as a pitch shifting and/or tape delay! I believe you can overdub as much as you’d like but there’s a knob that allows you to scroll through 8 layers of the overdub, this is a great performance feature 👍 Audio quality again is high, but it’s up to the user. I think it’s definately geared more towards experimenting and sounding like tape than being a perfect digital looper because lots of those already exist!

      Jae Ryan Thanks, Jae! That’s very helpful. My idea is to use it for performance. The idea came from watching Charles Cohen and his use of the Electro Harmonix 16-Second Delay. I just recently got an Instruo Lunadh. Check it out. It’s amazing in every aspect, but it’s more functional for Eurorack use. I want to explore something more immediate like the Blooper. Cheers.

    Lovely lovely lovely. Thanks for sharing some production notes, always helpful. I was wondering where all that sound came from. How did you sync? Midi? And what is that stand you are using? I was thinking about getting something to stand after I obtained quite some back pain from sitting hunched over my Easel for a while day yesterday and ended up stacking cardboard boxes for today. Not a long term solution! And yeah, that arm. Had the same issue today, keeping my right hand firmly on the volume fader right in front of the cam!

    • @fablesofsilence
      @fablesofsilence 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just saw it - no midi. Sequencer out, correct?

    • @jaeryan1337
      @jaeryan1337  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The stand I’m using is just a guitar amp stand! Not sure of the brand or model but likely any one of similar design will work. I also have a laptop stand from ikea that works really well but I wanted my pedal board below the easel in this clip so it was easier to reach!
      Nothing is synced technically, the delays n verb were all set by ear and the loop is so buried in the mix I didn’t mind it going in and out of sync! However, you’re correct in that the sequencer out is going to the expression in on my MOOD pedal modulating the quantized speed of the “tape loop” but that also goes through the left sides reverb and is kind of hard to hear as well. (Boy those chase bliss pedals sure sound complex when you have to type it out 😅)
      Hope that helps 🖤

      @fablesofsilence 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jae Ryan that helps a lot! Thanks so much. Amp stand sounds like a good idea. Although with space in the studio a premium I’d prefer something where I can use the space below the Easel. Well, let’s see. Time to head to my local store and check out the options.

    Nice, man, really nice. Did you run the easel through a cab at all?

    • @jaeryan1337
      @jaeryan1337  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, no amps unfortunately! I’ve been playing guitar again a little lately so it may in the near future though 🎸

    • @cnic7085
      @cnic7085 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Had to ask, since you took to mic'ing up rooms! Easel probably sounds great through a decent amp. Get a little air moving.

    • @jaeryan1337
      @jaeryan1337  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      C Nich0lls i seen Nathan Moody’s audio tip today about using the little practice amps, those desk top ones to dirt things up! I bet even something like that would be cool.
      You’ve got me mighty curious now though, the easel sounds fairly acoustic on it’s own so some air could really bring it to life!
      I’ve heard that people say it makes a world of difference on Ciat Lonbarde gear too 😎

    • @cnic7085
      @cnic7085 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool! There are probably a good range of tones just from gain staging and mic placement, especially with those Chase Bliss pedals thrown in. Been tempted by Dark World. Interesting to see how you get on.

    How many voices does an Easel have?

    • @jaeryan1337
      @jaeryan1337  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      “Technically” 2. There’s 2 oscillators at least, but it’s often worth sacrificing the second for more interesting modulation.
      HERE I’m using both and a few pedals for layers 👊
