Great timing on releasing these videos, I was experimenting with this yesterday. The funny thing is that my solution didn't get covered in this video: I found I could send a gate signal from Eurorack or similar device into the Gate Input on the EMBIO and that worked like a charm to get external triggers into my Easel!
It would be terrific to have some instruction on the "Electric Music Bos I/O" module and what is exactly going on with that and how to use it. Can't seem to find anything focusing on it.
I’m taking a midi out from from an octatrack and sending it to the midi in of the EMBIO but I still can’t figure out how to get a clock sync going. The octa is sending transport and clock and if I send notes on midi channel 1, it works. But I can’t figure out how to get the clock sync going. Any ideas?
There’s a chart on the buchla website detailing which midi channel is going where. In order for what you’re trying to do to work, I would send one midi track of triggers on the octa to the specific midi channel that triggers the pulser for instance. Then you could program a midi track with a note sequence to the midi channel that controls the modulation oscillator. This will leave the keyboard inputs on the easel still linked to the 218.
I still don't understand why this is five grand.. i thought the new one was going to be cheaper? It is just a mono synth.. seems like you could change three grand and still make a killing and it would still be overpriced.. is this just to insult us? So normal people have no chance of getting their dirty hands on one? Lol..

I wish this was a way less chaotic demo.
Can we get a more straightforward breakdown of the EMBIO module?
I too would love a tour of the EMBIO module, and also maybe a manual would be nice :)
This video covers the EMBIO functions starting here: th-cam.com/video/1iDiDg96I6Y/w-d-xo.html
@@peternyboer You're the champ! EMBIO starts around 11 minutes in.
Will the I/O module be available as an individual module?
Squarp Hapax would be great sequencer for the Buchla!

I ordered the retro version and I’m wondering if it would be possible to sync it to other devices via midi. It does have midi in and out.
yes. All the above MIDI sync strategies apply to the Retro too.
