8:43 in Turkey main roads are generally named after where that highway ends up getting. So there is like İstanbul, Eskişehir, Konya highways in Ankara and they are all in the middle of the city but they end up arriving cities they are named after. That sign means you are gonna end up in the highway named İstanbul. Kinda weird but yeah that's the reason.
14:55 that’s the Pomegranate molasses that has been drizzled on top to give it the sweetness. It’s in the bottle behind your head. Very common in the region as a condiment.
Cacik made with yogurt, cucumber, dry mint, garlic, olive oil& water as a refreshing side dish. Cig kofte is made by soybean&spices with pomagranate souce on top, eaten wraping in lettuce. And the one guy called ‘turkish, is called ‘kopoglu’ very small pieces of turkish onion salad with much spice , and you were correct about to eat that with your pita bread on top.

I don't want to add any link because of spam protection. 14:30 Çiğ Köfte: "Nowadays, due to food safety regulations and health concerns, the meat is almost always replaced with bulgur and ground walnuts," Pomegranate sour sauce is poured over the raw meatballs. It can be eaten wrapped in lettuce. 15:02 Cacık: Cacık is served chilled and it is used for virtually everything from various appetizers to main dishes. It pairs especially well with classic Turkish meat fare such as köfte and kebabs of all kinds. As a side dish, cacık is typically enjoyed in place of a salad, diluted with water and eaten with a spoon, like soup. 15:21 Acılı Ezme: is a flavorful Turkish dish that is traditionally served as a meze, especially in places that serve kebabs. It consists of tomatoes, onions, chili peppers, garlic, parsley, lemon juice, pomegranate molasses, olive oil, sumac, and a bit of dried mint. The vegetables are always hand chopped and never blended because the concoction becomes too juicy. It is recommended to serve acılı ezme with lavash flatbread and ayran on the side.

Hi! I am a Turkish guy from Kyiv/Ukraine following you. Hahahaha that was taken pretty early in my trip and I didn’t really know what I was doing. I’ve eaten it many times since then, but I will say I always thought it was raw meat. Thanks for the info!
There are two versions of the çiğköfte (raw meatball). Not every çiğköfte has meat inside it and You cant find çiğköfte with meat inside on the streets. You probably eat it without meat inside. And it is forbidden to sell çiğköfte which has meat inside since 2008 or 2004 i guess. Im not sure with the date. And it is so nice that you reply every comment of your video thanks :) enjoy your travels.

Our capital city was a small city at Ottoman period because its a step land in Anatolia, but after the WW1 when the capital was occupied, Atatürk and his friends, who founded the republic, decided that Ankara would be the capital and then Ankara grows up in the republic era become a huge city.

The one you called "Turkish" is called "ezme" in Turkish. It tastes bitter, isn't it? You can eat the meat however you like, there's no way you can be fooled. Just trust your intuition. The "çiğköfte" with lettuce was raw meatballs with bulgur wheat and red pepper in the past, but raw meat was banned because it may cause health problems, so it doesn't contain raw meat anymore. The sauce on çiğ köfte which is sour and sweet like a syrup is made from pomegranate.
As a Turkish person who is currently living in Ankara and have been to many parts of Turkey and also had changes to go outside of my country, I can -without a doubt- can say Ankara is a shame. It is a great example of a poor capital. There is no order in this city. Cities such as Istanbul may have excuses for it since they are very old towns but Ankara is not. It's our capital for only hundred years and prior to this title it was simply an ordinary Anatolian village. City is like a maze. After a point you get tired. Buildings rise above you. A capital is a nations honour and it makes me mad. Ankara could've been such a great place but capitalism and corrupt politicans ruined it. Please don't think other cities in Turkey looks like here.

@@TravelLordOnLoc sağol (it means np in turkish if you don't know)
@@faruky10ey Now I know! Thanks!
Hi! I am a Turkish guy from Kyiv/Ukraine following you. This one cracked me up)) I've never imagined that one day i would see a man trying to eat çiğ köfte with a spoon))) You are supposed to put that in the lettuce and wrap it)) Actually that is made from red lentils, not raw meat anymore. I know that you like to go solo but maybe...u need someone local to join you when eating out. Anyways... Thanks for the videos man! 👍
@@AL-grhvc Yep! My bad! It's been so long that I didn't eat those foods, I got confused. Çiğ köfte is made of bulgur, not the red lentils.
Hahahaha that was taken pretty early in my trip and I didn’t really know what I was doing. I’ve eaten it many times since then, but I will say I always thought it was raw meat. Thanks for the info!
red lentils? no! bulgur my friend
Welcome home, my lord. :D
Hahaha thanks!
It tasted good either way! I try to respond to all of the comments but I miss some sometimes. Thanks for watching!
That was “ezme” you were asking. it needs to be on top of a bread. Not suppose it solo!
I agree! But I usually try something solo to see the taste by itself first
👍
Thank you!
Good stuff, if you need a guidence next time i'll be free of charge my friend
Good to know! I appreciate it!
Hi mate, did you visit Adana before or is there a plan for it in next days? thx for videos also.
I wasn’t able to make it to Adana, but I think I ate 100 Adana kebabs. I eat one in the Antalya video but haven’t put that out yet. I hope to get there on my next trip!
then you didn't eat the real kebab until this time :) let me know if you visit, gonna be glad to host you. cheers!@@TravelLordOnLoc
@@yusufaras01 Will do! Adana and Gaziantep were two of the cities I really wanted to get to but couldn't fit in. Next time!
the answer to your question is hot and spicy tomato dip, an appetizer. It is called "acılı ezme" in Turkish. 😄
Thanks! It was delicious!
Next time, if you want to try some delicious döner in Ankara, I highly recommend that you visit "Peçenek Döner". @@TravelLordOnLoc ☺
you could do video panning more slower my friends
Ok! I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks!
Video için teşekkürler 😊 Genel olarak Türkiye seyahatlerinde herhangi bir sorun yaşadın mı merak ediyorum, cevaplarsan sevirim :)
I actually made a video answering some questions like that about my trip in Türkiye. I’ll put it out once I post the rest of the Türkiye videos
Our capital city was a small city at Ottoman period because its a step land in Anatolia, but after the WW1 when the capital was occupied, Atatürk and his friends, who founded the republic, decided that Ankara would be the capital and then Ankara grows up in the republic era become a huge city.
Thanks for the info! Interesting!
Bir ara Nevşehire (Cappadocia) da gelmelisin. Ben bir Nevşehirli olarak sana gezmen gereken her yeri anlatabilirim. Daha önce gezdin mi bilmiyorum
I visited! Actually I posted a Nevsehir video already! I would like to go back though, I wasn’t able to try or see the hot air balloons because of the weather

Thanks for the info! Everything was very delicious!
Merhaba nerelisin?
Hello! I’m from the USA.

Noted! Thanks!
Turkiye is cat 🐈 country cats is everywhere
It’s awesome! Hahaha
actually it was called "ezme" , not called Turkish , unfortunately our waiters cant understand english. have a good trip
It was delicious!
The dish you didn't learn the name of is "Ezme Salata".
Good to know! Thanks for the info!
I had those a few times after this video also. Always very delicious!
I was able to visit 10-15 cities so I know they’re all different. I liked Ankara but I only spent a few days there also.
@@TravelLordOnLoc Friend, this video is the first video I've watched about you and I don't know you but you seem as a cool dude.
