I had previously just jumpered this mosfet to get it working, but thank you so much for the part number! Finally wanted to go in and complete the repair since the shorted mosfet drew a lot of current draining the battery quickly.
Howdy! I have a problem with my V7. It runs perfectly in normal mode. Something like mins. If i put it into MAX Mode it directly quits running. Even if the battery was full charged. I also changed the battery, but same mistake... I think there must be an issue on the PCB. Where should I look? Or maybe do you know which part of the PCB I should replace..? I would be very thankfull if you could give me any help
Hey, great video ! my dyson V8 brush stopped working recently and found your video. Is there a way to make sure it is this MOSFET ? I don't have any experience soldering and I need to buy all needed tools to get the job done. Any tips, maybe other videos you made to learn how to work in those tiny spaces without damaging the board ? My vaccum brush used to rotate recently and now completely stopped, I tested using a multimeter the power pins (while triggering the vaccum) no power flows down through the connections to the extension and the the brush itself .. so I do suspect this MOSFET. Waiting for you answer , thank you !
Great video! I have a V8 of which the motor stops spinning when I select max mode. Normal mode works fine. I now have unmounted the motor, and when I activate the reed sensor (max mode) the motor stops spinning. Any idea which component on the PCB might be causing this?
Podrias ayudarme? tengo un problema similar con Dyson v10 animal, que el motor no gira porque no llega alimentación, como podria comprobar que sea el mosfet lo que esta fallando
Hello, Thanks for the video, I have almost the same issue. When I pull the trigger switch the brush start to spin but after 2 or 3 seconds it stops. I measure the voltage on the two wires near the motor at the brush and it is dropping to zero after 2 or 3 seconds ??? Can the problem come from the same Mosfet ?
Awesome video. Question for you that blue wire that you unclipped with white end from mother board, where does the other end of it go to and what is it for? Does it just go through that rubber sleeve tube and wrap around and stick into the sleeve tube just above it ? Thanks and great break down u😮😮
The blue wires are connected to a Reed sensor. This sensor closes a circuit when the power selector is in the MAX position. The button has a small magnet applied that activates this Reed sensor. The Reed sensor is a glass bulb that contains two contact blades that change their position when they are in the presence of a magnetic field.
Hello, my V7 model looks like the same board. Mine overloads and cuts out on high speed. Do you have any thoughts on what might be causing that? Thanks!
Does it stop when you use the MAX button? Try without filters installed. If it works normally without filters, you should clean or replace the filters.
@techfixPOV Thanks for the reply. It doesn't work even when the filters are out. I called Dyson and they said it was most likely a bad motor and since it is discontinued, they don't support the model anymore and don't have parts.
@@mrzabie0138 If your vacuum is a little older by now, try a different battery. They wear out fairly quickly due to the substantial abuse they need to tolerate to supply a powerful motor. Cutting out and/or lasting very briefly is a symptom common with worn out batteries, which develop a high internal resistance and cause a substantial power loss that causes the system to cut out to undervoltage protection.
I recommend that you completely disassemble the electronic board and check it on both sides of the liquid. There are several points on the back of the board that can be very easily affected by liquid and generate this defect that you are complaining about.
I used a hot air soldering station, both for desoldering and for soldering. Temperature 400 degrees, airflow at half power. The applied solution is AMTECH flux.
Excellent video, really good camera work, really appreciate the time and effort it took to make this!
Thank you very much!
Excellent video. I don’t have patience but am inspired by your video.
Go for it!

Yes, it would be ideal to replace the mosfet with a new one. I'm glad the video was helpful.
Nice one, thanks for listing the MOSFET needed
Thanks, I'm glad if it helps.
Thanks a lot , realy helped me to repair my v8 Dyson with this problem - Aliexpress - 1.2 EUR per 1 MOSFET plus "small" work
Glad it helped

How did you get the new MOSFET to stick/solder on the board? Are you using the existing solder that was left on the board from the prior MOSFET?
It's better to replace the old solder with a fresh one (leaded solder).

Mine doesnt spin. After i push like 10 minutes all time the power it start to spin. Could it be the brush itself or the pcb?

Sound like the build in safety mechanism to stop the brush when it is clogged, and therefore draws too much current. Did you try another active brush?

Hello. Do you know the output voltage and amperage values for the ground head motor on the board? Could you please answer?
Can you be more specific? I don't know which motor you are referring to.

Ok , mais quelle est la référence des MOSFET ?
Please read the video description.
Hello, what type of mosfet is it? thank you
The MOSFET is M13C30/ PSMN013-30MLC (N-channel 30 V 13.6 mΩ logic level MOSFET).
Is that same for v11 too ??
Bro please do a video for Dyson v12 slim there is no video for this 😢 usually the issue is you have to press many time button on to make it work
Ok I will try

Thanks for video. I've got v10 with same problem. And checked MOSFET and it seems ok. Hope for help. Thanks

what did you use to de-solder the mosfet chip ? Is this a heat gun and what was the solution that you applied to remove the solder from the chip?

👍
But it only happened with one of the attachments, not all of them.
If only one of the brushes doesn't work, it means that that brush needs to be checked.
need one for v11 !! if you want a test piece i can mail you mine !!
I will try to make a video with the V11 model as well. I think I have one that has this problem.
