If u don't know, Nepal has unscientific notions abt chilbirth impurity , which means they consider things that come out other than baby, eg umbilical cord, bleeding, placenta, etc as 'Religious pollution and sin and witchcraft', and consider new moms as 'Religiously impure beings or sins or cursed', who can turn Religiously pure person ie A MAN into impure , cos according to them female body is a sin, hence women who have given birth recently are sent to broken, unhygienic and dangerous coffin-sized huts with no proper doors or security away from families to ward off spiritual sin of 'Woman's body processes' , there those women may face illness due to unhygienic env, separation from baby, prone to sexual molestation by other village men, etc.
These men wouldn't let their women go into holy places on periods but would eat the food they cook even on the day they have periods.
It's not that bad in our place but still in villages, women on period are not allowed to go to a certain part of the house that is supposed to be "men's area" and eat in a separate set of utensils and not sit on stools that men use. My family used to follow these things as well but as I grew up, slowly my parents started neglecting these rules. Now the only rule that we follow is eating in a different set of utensils and not sharing food with the men in the house.
I think it's stupid to follow such rules but for the sake of my parents, me and my sisters still follow bcuz it's not like we are facing any major problems just because of that one or two rules.
If I ever have a daughter, I wouldn't follow these rules.

My mother and grandmother curbed me to enter my own house pooja room. When I first got my periods, my mother instructed me not to enter pooja room , because I've become impure. That time I was a child and listened to her. But now when I've turned 17 , I've clearly stated to my mother that coz this is your(grandparents) house, I'll not enter pooja room . But when I'll make my own house or live in a rent solely, I would never follow this malpractice. Even my cousin sister said revoltingly that we become impure while getting periods which was told to her by her mother.. If other girls consider themselves impure, let them. I don't care.. I see myself as a human, pure and equal to a man. I don't give a damn to these shits. Bcoz I never had choice to become a boy, if I ever has had this choice, I would've doomed to become a girl.

@good boy well, you're lucky to be from Kashmir and to have all those privileges. But the other part of Indian Muslims don't share the same fate. The report of NCW was for whole of India, and in most of the places Muslim women actually suffer a lot. I've seen live examples. So, those kinds of issues need serious reporting which they don't get. Actually Ganesh, Shiv Shankar, Ram, Krishna, Kali ma, Durga ma they are quite nice to hear. Till I was a Child they were my favourite. My mom always used to tell me about them. But as I gradually grow up and heard how there followers follow them and put restrictions in certain things made me to rethink about it. Even now I still love, I never had a thought there god, my god, yours god, Hindu god, our god, Indian god, American god, Chinese god, Pakistan God etc. But now it seems like certain God is for certain people and some god is not others God, and there God is not our God, our God is not there God etc.
Result I stop having faith in God.
Maybe one day I will pray to God in the middle of the Ocean when there will be huge ferocious ocean wave around my ship. But still I will be confused, which God to asked for help.

Islam never prohibited women from praying in the mosque, during the time of prophet Muhammad (pbuh) women prayed at the mosque. It is only the self proclaimed Maulanas and ulmaas in India / Pakistan / Bangladesh who have their own twisted beliefs and they prohibit women from entering the Mosque.
