Dionysus is truly one of the realest Greek Gods. No torment or pettiness, no killing, he rewards people who help those he cares about, warned about the risk of the wish (a wish that was terrible in the first place and not his fault for going poorly), and when Midas asks for help he actually gives him an opportunity to solve the problem instead of just leaving an eternal curse. He also taught a good lesson about how awful and destructive greed is. Based all around.

Could be worse, his clothes could have been turned into solid gold while he’s wearing it, the air he breath’s as well giving him a painful death, crushed by the golden outfit, and suffocating on the air he breath’s. Than once he fell on the ground dead, it could spread like wildfire, turning anything around him into gold with his blood spreading it from his crushed body from his clothes being made out of solid gold.

I get your point but I think a worse death is a slow one which King Mitus was experiencing. He witnessed his daughter die in front of him caused by his own actions, he couldn’t eat nor drink, and he’d have to live with the guilt and shame for the rest of his life. And MAN JUST WANTED SOME CASH 😭😭

@@karencanispeaktothemanager5340 there is a Ironman story with him being stuck in his suit trapped with no way out, and he spent a week in the suit screaming until he died. (He was infected by a virus, and the suit isolated him, trying to save him, but actually ended up killing him)
His outfit doing the same thing, but also crushing him, breaking his bones from the weight, with all of the dust, and particles in the air he breathe choking him. He would die with the people that try to help him turning into Golden statues, and the others will see that and will just watch him die, just like the others that were turned into a golden statue.
In my opinion mine is far worse, it keeps the threat of starving to death, but it gives him a death that is worse than Ironman when his suit isolated him, because of a virus, (he spent a week trapped in his suit unable to move, screaming nonstop for a week until he died)
He will not just be trapped in his clothes unable to move or do anything, but his clothes would crush him, making his blood spread turning everything into gold, and he will watch as anyone that helps him will turn into gold, and the others would watch him die, like the people that were turned into gold statues.
He will die from starvation, dehydration, blood loss, while also losing all hope, having people watch him die, with not just his daughter turned into gold, but also his soldiers, and maybe his wife.

I heard a version of this from my grandfather who was born and raised in Greece. That midas apon receiving this gift turned everything he owned to gold. He then being the richest man alive did whatever he pleased considering himself a God. This angered the gods and as punishment they made it so he would not just turn things into gold, but everything he touched. One night while he lay with his wife in a bed of golden leaves he turn her to gold, while she was with child. He was stricken with what had happened and began to curse the gods profusely. Zues then struck the fountain outside the palace and lent him the words. Forsake wealth for that which is worth much more and you will be forgiven. Midus then seeing his own reflection in the water touched his palm to its surface. His reflection turned golden and the water glowed like the rising sun. He was then told to take that water to pactolas, were he will empty it and bath both he and his wife. Apon emptying the bucket of water in to the river and then submerging both he and his wife they returned to normal. Unfortunately his wife's eyes and tongue remained gold as they were closed when she was turned. The daughters hair was golden and her eyes like blazing amber. Zues then came down and proclaimed that for the rest of thier lives they will serve as examples of of greed. The mother acted blind to the kings greed and choose to remain silent so that she could reap his fortune, would remain so till she died. In which she will pay the ferry man with her own eyes. Midus would live the rest of his life never able to touch gold again, and his daughter being at no fault would go about her days free with the blessing of the gods. As such she would never want for anything so long as she headed the faults of her parents. In doing so she only ever wanted for what her father and mother needed. Providing for her family who could no longer attain anything threw wealth.
It was a story that was meant to teach about the importance of taking care of one's family of what one owns.

@@ahmadMacoofficialchannel I think they left Midas himself unaffected so that he could live with the shame of his greedy endeavors and feel miserable, knowing that he would eventually starve to death if the curse wasn't removed. After all, the gods are notorious for torturing mortals with curses and unending misery rather than quick deaths, ESPECIALLY THE GREEK GODS!

Midas tried to eat, but the food turned to good after entering his mouth. So the curse doesn’t only apply to things that touches his hand.

@@spodreman7732 No, that could work. Yes, he will die of starvation, but when he tried to eat the bread, it turned into gold when HE touched it. The bread did not turn to gold when he used the fork. That means ONLY his touch can turn anything into gold, not the tools he use.

Now if you think about it... were he a little bit smarter about this, he could have asked about EXACTLY that... except for the golden touch to last for an hour only.
That's at least what I would consider asking for. No matter HOW greedy you are, in under an hour you could turn so many objects into gold, you - and your family - be rich for life.

Pan is the Greek god of wilderness and pastures, and Midas was moving to the countryside to get away from his worldly possessions and live a simple life. Pan also plays a part in the second myth surrounding Midas. Look up "Midas, Pan, and Apollo", and you'll see what it's about.
